A Technique for Building Occupancy Maps Using Stereo Depth Information and Its Application (스테레오 깊이 정보를 이용한 점유맵 구축 기법과 응용)

  • An occupancy map is a representation methodology describing the region occupied by objects in 3D space, which can be utilized for autonomous navigation and object recognition. In this paper, we describe a technique for building an occupancy map using depth data extracted from stereo images. In addition, some techniques are proposed for utilizing the occupancy map for the segmentation of object regions. After the geometric information on the ground plane is extracted from a disparity image, the occupancy map is constructed by projecting each matched point to the ground plane-based 3D space. We explain techniques for extracting moving object regions using the occupancy map and present experimental results using real stereo images.

  • This paper designs and implements an integrated map server to produce an integrated map. Two requirements for the proposed map server are as follows. First, the system should support a customization of metadata to meet user's requirements. The map server designed here will predefine information such as representations, regions required for client-side processing in the metadata. This will allow users easily acquire an integrated map in the required form of clients. Second, the system should be able to support not only the integration of spatial data but also their non-spatial data. Fusion service is realized by using the concept of linking. The integrated map server suggested in this paper can improve the quality of the fusion service by integrating the results of the map servers according to user's requests. Our experiments shows that the integrated map server reduces the response time in web mapping environments.

The role of p38 MAP kinase on RANKL regulation in mouse periodontal ligament fibroblasts (마우스 치주인대 섬유모세포에서 RANKL 조절에 대한 p38 MAP kinase의 역할)

  • Receptor activation of nuclear factor ${\kappa}$ B ligand (RANKL)은 파골세포의 분화와 기능에 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질로 이들 물질의 조절에는 p38 MAP kinase가 관여한다. 그러나 치주인대 섬유모세포에서 RANKL 발현 시 p38 MAP kinase의 역할은 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 이에 이번 연구는 마우스 치주인대 섬유모세포의 $IL-1{\beta}-induced$ RANKL 발현과정에서 p38의 역할을 규명하고자 하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 마우스 치주인대 섬유모세포에 $IL-1{\beta}$ (1ng/ml)의 자극은 수용성 RANKL의 합성을 증가시켰다. 수용성 RANKL의 합성은 p38 MAP kinase 억제제인 SB203580에 의해 농도 의존적으로 억제되었으나 다른 MAP kinase 억제제인 SP600125, JNK 억제제와 PD98059, ERK 억제제에 의해서는 수용성 RANKL의 합성이 조절되지 않았다. NF-kB 억제제에 의해서도 수용성 RANKL의 합성이 억제되지 않았다. RANKL 유전자의 발현은 $IL-1{\beta}$로 자극 시에는 대조군에 비해 약 5배의 발현 증가를 보였으나 SB203580으로 전처치 시 $IL-1{\beta}$ (1ng/ml)로 자극시보다 약 1.5배의 감소를 보였다. 그러나 SP600125, PD98059, 및 NF-kB 억제제로 전처치한 경우에는 $IL-1{\beta}$로 자극한 경우와 비슷한 수준을 보였다. $IL-1{\beta}$로 자극 시 RANKL 유전자의 반감기가 90분 이었으나 SB203580로 전처치 후 $IL-1{\beta}$로 자극 시 RANKL 유전자의 반감기는 60분으로 감소하였다. Cycloheximide 전처리 시 SB203580에 의한 RANKL 유전자 발현 억제가 관찰되지 않았다. 단백질 분석결과 p38 MAP kinase의 인산화 활성은 30분까지 증가하였으나 그 이후 감소하여 2시간째에는 그 발현이 미약하였다. SB203580로 전처치 후 $IL-1{\beta}$로 자극 시 p38 MAP kinase의 인산화 활성이 감소하였다. 이상의 결과는 p38 MAP kinase가 RANKL 유전자 조절에 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있음을 시사한다.

  • Recently the commercial value of GIS(geographic information system) has been increased with growing application demands of spatial information in life space. Also, GIS has been expanded to the integrated information system that provides the ease access to map information by public users and also the combined service of GIS map data and various multimedia contents. But several security problems of GIS map data have brought up at GIS industries, such as the illegal copy and distribution of GIS map data. Furthermore, the copyright protection of GIS map data has not been researched yet compared with image and video contents. This paper presents a polyline based watermarking scheme for the copyright protection of GIS vector map. The proposed scheme analyzes the structure of vector map and embeds adaptively the watermark by using the distance distribution of polyline components. From experimental results, we verified that the proposed scheme satisfies the invisibility and the robustness of geometrical attacks.

  • The aerial photographic mission is a difficult work because aircraft must be flown along the specified flight lines, not marked on the ground. This study has been carried out for the development of aerial photographic guidance system, which enables us to make aerial photographic task easier. Such a flight guidance system is able to display a variety of map informations in a quick and efficient way in order to guide pilot. For this purpose, we first developed the nationwide aerial navigation map database that provides the topographic map information used for topographic interpretation and aeronautical chart information used for the flight security. Next, we developed the aerial photographic guidance system which uses the aerial navigation map as base map. It is concluded that the developed system can display the various map informations quickly and do any other photographing guidance tasks well in fast moving airplane.

  • The development of electronic technology brings the advent of electronic tacheometer which measures, stores and records automatically angles and distances. Electronic tacheometer is the surveying equipment that enable the acquisition of the 3-D terrain information, construction of the database and automatic drafting of the cartographic map. This paper aims at studying the system which can produce automatically the digital cartographic map by us-ing the electronic tacheometer. For this study, cartographic maps of a region are produced by a plane table and an electronic tacheometer and these is analysed. The results of this study show that digital cartographic map by electronic tacheometer is much more accurate and efficient than cartographic map by plane table.

  • An indoor location-based service cannot be realized unless the indoor positioning problem is solved. However, the cost-effective indoor positioning systems are suffering from their inaccurateness. This paper proposes a map information-based correction method for the indoor positioning systems. Using our Kalman filter with map information-based appropriate parameter values, our method estimates the track of the moving object, then it performs the Frechet Distance-based map matching on the obtained track. After that it applies our real time correction method. In order to verify efficiency of our method, we also provide our test results.

Generation of ROI Enhanced High-resolution Depth Maps in Hybrid Camera System (복합형 카메라 시스템에서 관심영역이 향상된 고해상도 깊이맵 생성 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme to generate region-of-interest (ROI) enhanced depth maps in the hybrid camera system, which is composed of a low-resolution depth camera and a high-resolution stereoscopic camera. The proposed method creates an ROI depth map for the left image by carrying out a three-dimensional (3-D) warping operation onto the depth information obtained from the depth camera. Then, we generate a background depth map for the left image by applying a stereo matching algorithm onto the left and right images captured by the stereoscopic camera. Finally, we merge the ROI map with the background one to create the final depth map. The proposed method provides higher quality depth information on ROI than the previous methods.

  • Google, Yahoo, Daum and Naver has the POI(point of interest) service. And POI on the map is expending to social commerce, SNS, social game and social shopping. At the same time the uses's position on the map is the starting point of the Humanities Story. That means our current position is the place for stories of tales, children's song, fictional characters, the film background, lyrics and the birth of great people. This study points out that service has the limited to cafe, restaurant and hospital, and suggests the Humanities fusion Map Service which is combined with the POI information.
