This paper describes playback downlink and telecommand uplink channel design performed for a transportable small-sized KOMPSAT(Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite) ground station. As a result of downlink channel design, required receiving performance was calculated from the threshold signal-to-noise ratio of playback signal and it was revealed that this performance can be guaranteed in 1.5 m ground station with 6.5 dB/K of G/T. For the uplink channel design, 40 dBW of EIRP was derived from the threshold signal-to-noise ratio of telecommand signal received at on-board receiver. The implemented small-sized ground station based on design was evaluated to be fully acceptable for KOMPSAT TT&C(Telemetry, Tracking and Command) system and playback downlink design without taking account of additional 3 dB system link margin was shown to be effective because it had provided constantly initial channel performance without any remarkable degradation over several years of tests with KOMPSAT and KOMPSAT-2, for both uplink and playback downlink in the elevation angle above $10^{\circ}$.
In this study, we the estimated surface normalized difference vegetation index by using the KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite-3 (KOMPSAT-3) multi-spectral images for comparative analysis. The estimated NDVI from KOMPSAT-3 is used as for comparison with the high resolution GeoEye products. The geometry conditions for atmospheric effects are selected from meta files of KOMPSAT-3 bundle data. The used geometry conditions are consist of solar zenith angle, solar azimuth angle, viewing zenith angle, viewing azimuth angle, and date. And, Atmospheric effects such as attenuation, scattering and absorption were physically simulated from water vapor, ozone and aerosol information. Generally, although ground measurements are important for accurate information, in this study, MODIS atmospheric products are used as atmospheric constituents. The surface reflectance from radiative transfer model is utilized for estimating vegetation index. The present study, to reduce atmospheric and geometry conditions between KOMPSAT-3 and GeoEye having difference observation characteristics, data acquisition time is carefully determined for reliable vegetation spectral characteristics.

This paper describes the orbital dynamics operation results for the launch and early operations phase (LEOP) of KOMPSAT-3, which was successfully launched on May 18, 2012. At the initial phase, operational orbit determination was carried out using ground tracking data and GPS navigation solution. And, both in-plane and out-of plane maneuvers were executed in order to change the orbit from the injection orbit to the mission orbit. In addition, the accuracy of precise orbit determination was indirectly evaluated by overlapping method using GPS raw data of KOMPSAT-3 and international GNSS service data from worldwide-distributed ground stations. Currently, KOMPSAT-3 is operated in pre-defined mission orbit, and its various kinds of orbit data are generated and distributed to support the normal mission operations.

In order to evaluate the safety of navigation at sea and the safety of mooring on berthing, it is necessary that the wave and wind induced ship dynamic motion should be measured in real time domain for the validity of theoretical evaluation method such as sea-keeping performance and safety of mooring. In this paper, the basic design of sensors is discussed and some system configurations were shown. The developed system mainly consists of 4 kinds of sensors such as three-dimensional accelerator, two-dimensional tilt sensor, azimuth sensor and two displacement sensors. Using this measuring system, it can be obtained the 6 degrees of freedom of ship dynamic motions at sea and on berthing such as rolling, pitching, yawing, swaying, heaving, surging under the certain external forces.
Evolutionary a1gorithms are well-suited for multi-objective optimization problems involving several, often conflicting objectives. Pareto-based evolutionary algorithms, in particular, have shown better performance than other multi-objective evolutionary algorithms in comparison. However, generalized evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms have a weak point, in which the distribution of solutions are not uni-formly distributed onto Pareto optimal front. In this paper, we propose an evolutionary a1gorithm for multi-objective optimization which uses seed individuals in order to overcome weakness of algorithms Published. Seed individual means a solution which is not located in the crowded region on Pareto front. And the idea of our algorithm uses seed individuals for reproducing individuals for next generation. Thus, proposed a1go-rithm takes advantage of local searching effect because new individuals are produced near the seed individual with high probability, and is able to produce comparatively uniform distributed pareto optimal solutions. Simulation results on five testbed problems show that the proposed algo-rithm could produce uniform distributed solutions onto pareto optimal front, and is able to show better convergence compared to NSGA-II on all testbed problems except multi-modal problem.

In this paper, the multi-objective genetic algorithm is proposed for the document clustering which is important in the text mining field. The most important function in the document clustering algorithm is to group the similar documents in a corpus. So far, the k-means clustering and genetic algorithms are much in progress in this field. However, the k-means clustering depends too much on the initial centroid, the genetic algorithm has the disadvantage of coming off in the local optimal value easily according to the fitness function. In this paper, the multi-objective genetic algorithm is applied to the document clustering in order to complement these disadvantages while its accuracy is analyzed and compared to the existing algorithms. In our experimental results, the multi-objective genetic algorithm introduced in this paper shows the accuracy improvement which is superior to the k-means clustering(about 20 %) and the general genetic algorithm (about 17 %) for the document clustering.

Network topology design is a multiobjective problem with various design components. The components such as cost, message delay and reliability are important to gain the best performance. Recently, Genetic Algorithms(GAs) have been widely used as an optimization method for real-world problems such as combinatorial optimization, network topology design, and so on. This paper proposed a method of Multi-objective GA for Design of the network topology which is to minimize connection cost and message delay time. A common difficulty in multiobjective optimization is the existence of an objective conflict. We used the prufer number and cluster string for encoding, parato elimination method and niche-formation method for the fitness sharing method, and reformation elitism for the prevention of pre-convergence. From the simulation, the proposed method shows that the better candidates of network architecture can be found.
