A Study on the Design of Fuzzy Controller for a Turbojet Engine Model and its Performance Enhancement through Satisfactory Multiple Objectives (터보제트엔진의 퍼지제어기 설계 및 다목적함수 만족기법을 통한 제어성능 향상에 관한 연구)

  • In the study of control technique for a turbojet engine model, the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy logic controller has been designed based on the model identification by the well designed PI controlled system through T-S neuro-fuzzy inference system. To enhance this designed controller, those procedures are proposed that certainty factors are adopted to each rule of objective groups which are classified by the fuzzy C-Means algorithm and the satisfaction degrees are matched to meet the objectives. This proposed technique shows its feasibility by upgrading performances of the previously well-designed T-S fuzzy controller.

Multilevel Multiobjective Optimization for Structures (다단계 다목적함수 최적화를 이용한 구조물의 최적설계)

  • Multi-level Multi-objective optimization(MLMO) for reinforced concrete framed structure is performed, and compared with the results of single-level single-objective optimization. MLMO method allows flexibility to meet the design needs such as deflection and cost of structures using weighting factors. Using Multi-level formulation, the numbers of constraints and variables are reduced at each levels, and the optimization formulation becomes simplified. The force approximation method is used to reflect the variation in design variables between the substructures, and thus coupling is maintained. And the linear approximated constraints and objective function are used to reduce the number of structural analysis in optimization process. It is shown that the developed algorithm with move limit can converge effectively to optimal solution.

Prediction of Stream Flow on Probability Distributed Model using Multi-objective Function (다목적함수를 이용한 PDM 모형의 유량 분석)

  • A prediction of streamflow based on multi-objective function is presented to check the performance of Probability Distributed Model(PDM) in Miho stream basin, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. PDM is a lumped conceptual rainfall runoff model which has been widely used for flood prevention activities in UK Environmental Agency. The Monte Carlo Analysis Toolkit(MCAT) is a numerical analysis tools based on population sampling, which allows evaluation of performance, identifiability, regional sensitivity and etc. PDM is calibrated for five model parameters by using MCAT. The results show that the performance of model parameters(cmax and k(q)) indicates high identifiability and the others obtain equifinality. In addition, the multi-objective function is applied to PDM for seeking suitable model parameters. The solution of the multi-objective function consists of the Pareto solution accounting to various trade-offs between the different objective functions considering properties of hydrograph. The result indicated the performance of model and simulated hydrograph are acceptable in terms on Nash Sutcliffe Effciency*(=0.035), FSB(=0.161), and FDBH(=0.809) to calibration periods, validation periods as well.

  • PID(Proportional-Integral-Derivative)제어기는 제어악고리즘의 단순성과 실 현장에서의 강인성 등으로 산업용 보일러의 제어시스템서 주로 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 다중 루프를 가진 보일러 시스템에서는 루프간의 상호 간섭 영향 등으로 부하 변화에 따라 요구되는 증기(steam)압력, 증기 유량(steam flow)변화 등을 동시에 만족하도록 급수 유량, 연교 유량, 공기 유량 등을 PlH제어기만으로 제어하는 것은 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 보일러 시스템의 다목적 성능 최적화에 각각의 적합도 함수 $f_{a}$ , $f_{b}$, $f_{c}$를 정의하고 면역 알고리즘을 이용해 최적화를 구하고 그 결과에 대한 특성과 유효성을 검토하였다.다.다.

사출성형시 수지선정을 위한 평가함수의 개발

  • 플라스틱(수지)의 활용이 급격하게 증가함에 따라 사출성형의 중요성이 높아지고 있는 가운데, 사출성형시의 원가절감이 큰 관심사가 되어가고 있다. 원가절감의 일환으로 적절한 수지를 선정하는 일이 대두되는데, 사출성형의 재료로서 수지를 선정할 때는 성형후 사용환경에서 일정기능을 유지하도록 수지의 물성을 고려하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 여러물성을 동시에 만족시켜야 하는 수지선정의 특수성을 감안하여 수지선정문제를 가치함수(Value Function)를 사용한 다목적 의사결정문제(Multi-Attribute Decision Problem)로 정형화하였다. 수지는 물성의 어느 범위에서는 수치의 작은차이가 중요하지만, 어느 범위에서는 크게 중요하지 않으므로 필요한 물성의 수준을 고려하여 선택을 하여야한다. 본 연구에서는 가치함수를 이용하여 이를 해결하도록 하였다. 가치함수는 Sigmoid함수를 사용하였고, 함수의 상수(parameter)를 조절하여 수지가 갖는 물성과 물성과의 관계를 평가하고 수지가 갖는 특성을 보다 정확하게 고려하여 수지선정이 되도록 하였다.

  • 본 논문은 경제성 및 안정성을 유지하는 최적의 전압유지범위 설정을 위해 다양한 목적함수를 최적조류계산에 이용하였다. 경제성을 위해 융통전력 최대화와 유효전력 손실최소화를 목적함수로 하였고 안정성을 위해 무효전력예비력 최대화를 목적함수로 하였다. 또한 경제성과 안정성을 모두 반영하기 위해 다목적 함수를 구성하였다. 최적화기법을 실계통에 적용하였을 때 목적함수를 얼마나 잘 만족시킬 수 있는지 각종 지표를 통해 살펴보았다. 그리고 모니터링 모선의 전압 변동 추이를 살펴보고 이를 통해 경제성 및 안정성을 유지하는 최적의 전압유지 범위설정을 하는데 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

A Study on Real-Coded Adaptive Range Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Airfoil Shape Design (익형 형상 설계를 위한 실수기반 적응영역 다목적 유전자 알고리즘 연구)

  • In this study, the real-coded adaptive range multi-objective genetic algorithm code, which represents the global multi-objective optimization algorithm, was developed for an airfoil shape design. In order to achieve the better aerodynamic characteristics than reference airfoil at landing and cruise conditions, maximum lift coefficient and lift-to-drag ratio were chosen as object functions. Futhermore, the PARSEC method reflecting geometrical properties of airfoil was adopted to generate airfoil shapes. Finally, two airfoils, which show better aerodynamic characteristics than a reference airfoil, were chosen. As a result, maximum lift coefficient and lift-to-drag ratio were increased of 4.89% and 5.38% for first candidate airfoil and 7.13% and 4.33% for second candidate airfoil.

  • The VLC system undertakes both missions of illumination and wireless communication. It is difficult to design a VLC system with optimal performance due to the trade-offs between power consumption and channel quality. In this paper, the VLC system design problem is solved by using multi-objective optimization method. For optimization, the multi-objective function is formulated with respect to power consumption, received power, and SNR under the constraints on the system variables. Through the multi-objective optimization, it is possible to obtain the solutions that satisfies both minimum power consumption and maximum channel quality.

  • This paper presents an integrated optimal design technique of a hybrid structure-damper system for improving the seismic performance of the structure. The proposed technique corresponds to the optimal distribution of the stiffness and dampers. The multi-objective optimization technique is introduced to deal with the optimal design problem of the hybrid system, which is reformulated into the multi-objective optimization problem with a constraint of target reliability in an efficient manner. An illustrative example shows that the proposed technique can provide a set of Pareto optimal solutions embracing the solutions obtained by the conventional sequential design method and single-objective optimization method based on weighted summation scheme. Based on the stiffness and damping capacities, three representative designs are selected among the Pareto optimal solutions and their seismic performances are investigated through the parametric studies on the dynamic characteristics of the seismic events. The comparative results demonstrate that the proposed approach can be efficiently applied to the optimal design problem for improving the seismic performance of the structure.

Design of Truss Structures with Real-World Cost Functions Using the Clustering Technique (클러스터링 기법을 이용한 실 경비함수를 가진 트러스 구조물의 설계)

  • Conventional truss optimization approaches, while often sophisticated and computationally intensive, have been applied to simple, minimum weight-cost models. These approaches do not perform well when applied to real-world trusses, which have costmodels that are complex and which often involve multiple objectives. Thus, this paper describes the optimization strategies that a clustering technique, which identifies members that are likely to have the same product type, uses for the optimal design of truss structures with real- world cost functions that consider the costs on the weight of the truss, the number of products in the design, the number of joints in the structures, and the costs required in the site.At first, the clustering technique is applied to identify the members and to generate a proper initial solution. A simple taboo search technique is then used, which attempts to generate the optimal solution by starting with the solution from the previous technique. For example, the proposed approach is a plied to a typical problem and to a problem similar to relative performances. The results show that this algorithm generates not only better-quality solutions but also more efficient ones
