인터넷은 다양한 언어로 구성된 정보를 사용자들에게 제공해 준다. 따라서 인터넷 환경상의 정보 다국어화는 앞으로도 점차 가속화될 것으로 보인다. 그러나 각 국가별 지역 코드는 다국어 정보화를 가로막는 하나의 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실사용자(end-user)와 개발자(developer) 환경에서 발생하는 다국어 지원의 문제점에 대해 알아보고, 이를 부산대학교 언어 정보 연구실에서 연구중인 다국어 지원 방법과 연관하여 특히 웹 환경에서 다국어가 동시에 지원될 수 있는 방안에 관해 연구하였다. 한글 환경에서 다국어가 원활히 지원되기 위해서는 유니코드 도입과 함께 다국어 입력 알고리즘이 개발되어야 하며, 이에 따른 다국어 입력 컨트롤 및 라이브러리 개발이 선행되어야 한다. 또한 웹 환경에서도 KS-C-5601 기반이 아닌 Unicode 기반 웹 환경 구축이 진행되어야 할 것이다.

Multilingual support of software is necessary for entering global market. 3-tier architecture is a solution for problems of 2-tier architecture. It divides an application into a client-tier and an application-tier, and presentation logic and database are connected by middleware. The advantage of 3-tier architecture is the enhanced performance through load balancing, scalability, easier maintenance and reusability. This paper proposes a multilingual support method that utilizes common resource files for 3-tier enterprise softwares, applies the proposed method to development of multilingual version of billing solution, and verify the usefulness of it. It is easy for development and maintenance of software, the addition of language supported. Proposed method holds a resource file for each language and provides a multilingual support class library. Therefore this method reduces a waste of memory and disk space. Deployment of a class library into an application tier makes development and maintenance of software, the addition of new language supported easy. To avoid inappropriate modification of a resource file, a multilingual support class library is provided in a dll file.

Due to the need for multilingual e-mail address, EAI Working Group of the IETF has created a wide range of standards associated with e-mail address internationalization(EAI) since 2006. One of the authors and colleagues designed and implemented the mail server, SMTPUTF8, that supports EAI RFC protocols. SMTPUTF8 mail server is composed of new SMTP and POP3 servers supporting EAI RFC protocols. However, SMTPUTF8 did not include a new IMAP server supporting EAI RFC protocol. Recently many people are using smart phones to read and send e-mail messages in a mobile environment. IMAP server is more useful than POP3 server in a mobile environment. Therefore, in this paper, the authors have designed and implemented IMAP server and client app that complies with the IMAP standard (RFC) published by EAI WG of IETF to support multilingual e-mail address. This IMAP server is added to the SMTPUTF8 mail server so that users can access e-mail messages via IMAP client app in a mobile environment.

현재 우리가 인터넷에서 널리 사용하고 있는 인터넷 전자메일의 주소는 보통 영문자와 숫자의 조합으로 사용하고 있다. 이러한 전자메일 주소를 2003년에 IDNA에서 전자메일 주소의 domain-part에는 영문자, 숫자, '-' 이외에 다국어를 지원하도록 국제 표준음 마련하여 한글 사용이 가능하지만, local-part에는 아직 다국어 즉, 한글을 지원하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 전자메일 주소의 local-part와 domain-part에서 한글 주소 사용이 가능하도록 다국어를 지원할 수 있는 메일 시스템의 모델을 제안하며, IETF EAI 표준음 따르는 메일 시스템 모델의 구성과 동작 원리를 제안한다.

In this paper, we developed integrated billing system for multi-language. It is very easy to customize for other language and also It has functions in integrated billing system. Whenever administrator insert UI message data for other language, we can make billing packages for its own country to service integrated billing policy.

Most recent E-mail systems, that are serviced in Korea, are supporting Hangul in many fields of E-mail(For example, contents, subject, attachment, etc.). However, these systems do not support Hangul in the address field of E-mail. In 2003, IDNA built the international standard in order to support multi-lingual besides the alphabetic character, a number, and '-'. So, Hangul cab be used in the domain part where is the right of '@' mark among the compositional element of the E-mail address. But, the local-part, where is the left of '@' mark, doesn't still support multi-lingual. So Hangul cannot be used in the local-part. In order to support multi-lingual including Hangul in the local-part, this paper designs and implements the E-mail system according to the EAI standardization research that it is progressed in IETF.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current nationwide status of the multicultural and multilingual library services in Korea. To do this, a survey aimed at the public libraries, the non-governmental organizations and the governmental bodies that provided library services with multicultural and multilingual materials was conducted. Also, 15 librarians and the persons in charge were interviewed. As a result of this study, some recommendations not only regarding national library policies but also regarding public libraries providing multicultural library services to local users were suggested.

새로 제정된 이메일 프로토콜 표준에 따라 사용자는 이메일 주소에 한글과 같은 다국어를 포함할 수 있다. 다국어 이메일 주소를 사용하여 송수신자가 메일을 전송하기 위해서는 양측 메일 서버가 모든 문자를 표현할 수 있는 UTF-8 인코딩 방식을 지원하도록 정의하고 있지만 현재의 네트워크 상에는 UTF-8 인코딩 방식을 지원하는 메일 서버와 지원하지 않는 메일 서버 모두가 존재하고 있다. 이는 곧 메일이 정상적으로 수신자에게 전송이 되지 못하는 결과를 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 UTF-8 을 지원하는 서버와 지원하지 않는 서버의 기존 상태를 유지하면서 메일을 정상적으로 송수신을 하기 위해 애플리케이션에서 퓨니코드 변환을 적용시킨 전달 기법을 제안하였으며 직접 구현하여 정상적으로 작동하는 것을 확인 하였다.

웹 서비스를 하는 많은 곳에서 콘텐츠 관리를 용이하게 하기 위하여 CMS를 이용하여 운영을 하고 있다. 그러나 웹 분야의 추세 및 글로벌화에 따라 앞으로의 콘텐츠 관리는 다국어로 관리되어야 하지만 기존의 CMS로는 어려운것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 한국전통식품포탈을 리뉴얼하는 과정에 있어서 콘텐츠를 다국어로 관리하기 용이한 gCMS를 도입하는 1차 도입 결과 및 2차 고도화 방안에 대해 기술한다. 도입된 gCMS는 기존의 CMS와 달리 콘텐츠를 매체별로, 각 매체별 콘텐츠는 다양한 매체와 다국어 서비스의 기반을 구축하는 시스템이다. 또한 콘텐츠, 메뉴, 항목, 기초코드, 메시지 등의 모든 언어 요소를 다국어로 관리하여 완벽하게 다국어를 지원한다.
