다구찌 방법과 실험계획법을 이용한 소음기의 설계 방법 (Design of Muffler using Taguchi Method and Experimental Design)

  • Recently, the regulations from the govemment and the concems of the people give rise to the interest in exhaust noise of passenger car as much as other vehicles. The exact analysis of various mufflers is needed to reduce the level of exhaust noise. In this paper, we propose a design to improve the mufflers capacity by reducing noise of exhaust system combining Taguchi method and fractional factorial design. In order to measure the performance of a muffler, the performance prediction software which is developed by the Dept. of Automotive Engineering at Hanyang University is used. From the current muffler system we select control factors such as lenght and radius of each component that are thought to be effective on capacity of muffler. Factors are arranged using L18, L27 table of orthogonal array and the fractional factorial design for analysis. We find some significant interaction effects using 1/3 fractional factorial design and accomplish the reduction of noise from the muffler.

  • 자동차 연료로서 LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas)의 사용은 대기오염을 줄이는데 효과적으로 사용이 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 가스사용이 늘어나면서 폭발과 화재에 의한 인명피해가 해마다 발생하고 있으며, 특히 대규모 저장시설에서의 가스사고는 사회적으로 심각한 문제를 야기하고 있다. 이를 최소화하기 위한 방안으로 지하격납형 저장탱크를 대안으로 제시하고 있다. 본 연구는 LPG를 대량으로 취급 저장하는 시설에서 운용하는 저장탱크의 설치방법을 개선하기 위한 것으로, 지상형과 지하매몰형, 지하격납형에 대하여 누출가능성, 경제성, 토지이용률, 안전성, 점검편리성, 시공용이성을 인자로 다구찌(Taguchi) 실험계획법으로 분석하면 토지이용률, 경제성, 안전성순으로 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 최적의 시공법은 지하격납형 저장탱크인 것으로 나타났다.

  • This Paper presents a robust design of an Electrorheological(ER) damper using Taguchi method. Taguchi method is a robust design method that determines control parameters in the presence of noise effect. Electrode length, electrode gap, base oil viscosity and the weight ratio of ER particles are chosen for the control parameters and the temperature is considered to be a noise factor. The sensitivity of each factor with signal-to-noise(S/N) ratio and analysis of variance are investigated. The analysis results show that the electrode length and base oil viscosity of the ER fluid mostly affect the damping force in the absence of electric field. On the other hand, when the voltage is applied to the ER damper, the electrode length and the weight ratio of ER fluid exhibit significant effect. Based on the Taguchi method, an optimal configuration was designed and the robustness of the designed ER damper was validated by comparing the analysis and experimental results.

  • The machining parameters for the wire electrical discharge machining(WEDM), including no load voltage, pulse-on time, pulse-off time, wire tension, water flow rata offset etc. should be chosen properly so that a better performance can be obtained An optimum selection of machining parameters relies heavily on the operators technologies and experience. This study presents a method by means of Taguchi method to select optimal machining parameter combination for an cutting speed or surface roughness. Experimental results demonstrate that the machining models are appropriate and the derived machining parameters satisfy the real requirements in notice.

  • In recent industry, according to pursuit the miniaturization and high-precision of machine part with development of new technology as IT, BT the development of mold manufacturing technology for mass production is accompanied. In this study, the spiral type injection mold with a $200{\mu}m$ thickness shape is made for investigation of influence for injection molding process variables and the flow length is measured through an experiment. Beside, the result of each experiment Is compared with the analysis result of CAE. Taguchi method is used in this experiment and the obtained data are analyzed using ANOVA method.

  • Cutting by a high speed laser cutting machine is one of most effective technologies to improve productivity. This paper has studied to obtain the cutting characteristics and optimal cutting conditions in a high speed feeding type laser cutting machine by Tacuchi method in design of experiments. A Lf(34) orthogonal array is adopted to study the effect of adjustment parameter. The adjustment parameters consist of cutting speed, laser power, laser output duty and assistant gas pressure. And the quality feature is selected as surface roughness of sheet metal. Variance analysis is performed in order to evaluate the effect of adjustment parameters on the quality feature of laser cutting process.

다구찌법을 이용한 복합소재 수소연료탱크의 최적설계에 관한 연구 (On the Optimized Design of a Composite Hydrogen Fuel Tank using Taguchi Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 70MPa의 충전압력을 갖는 130L 수소연료 저장탱크에 대한 최적설계를 유한요소법과 다구찌 설계법으로 고찰하였다. 6061-T6의 알루미늄 라이너의 외벽면에 T800-24K의 탄소섬유로 감아서 제조한 복합소재 연료탱크의 강도안전성을 미국 DOT-CFFC와 KS의 설계안전 규격을 기준으로 해석하였다. 70MPa용 수소가스탱크의 응력강도에 대한 FEM 해석결과에 의하면, US DOT-CFFC와 KS 규격에서 제시한 응력비 2.4의 기준값과 비교할 때 안전한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 다구찌 설계법에 기반한 최적설계 데이터는 설계모델 5번으로 선정할 수 있고, 여기서 제시할 수 있는 알루미늄 라이너의 두께는 6.4mm, 탄소섬유 적층에서 후프방향의 두께는 31mm, 헤리컬방향의 두께는 10.2mm이다.

  • Recently, rods having irregular sections more complex than a rectangle or ellipse are necessary to produce mechanical parts. The cold shaped drawing process is used to obtain shaped drawn products with high levels of dimensional accuracy and quality. A cross roller guide, considered in this study, is one of the parts produced by shaped drawing process. A cross roller guide has a linear bearing system that rolls along a guide way. A cross roller guide is one of the most important components in terms of equipment because the quality of the product influences the precision linear motion. Therefore, the final dimensional accuracy of the linear rail in the shaped drawing is very important. The objective of this study is to find the optimized die angles to improve the dimensional accuracy and straightness of the final shaped drawn product. In order to achieve the aim of this study, design of experiment, FE-simulation, and the Taguchi method were used. Based on the analytical results, shaped drawing experiment has been performed to verify the result.
