  • The methodology for adapting fairy tales has long been used in the making of cultural products. The downside of this methodology is to discover the modern value of fairy tales and to adapt it to the trend to deliver messages. In this paper, I believe that the universal idea of fairy tales will be a way to elicit sympathy from the audience. A story adapted from the story " Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs " in 1937 played an important role in the development of animation. Disney then continued to create animations that adapt to the original character. Since the beginning of 2013, Disney has changed the theme of the original book, story structure, character setting, and created its own adaptation system. " Morphology of the Folk Tale " is a system of analysis derived from many fairy tales that can be conducted accurately on most fairy tales. The purpose of this paper is to use Morphology of the Folk Tale to analyze the changed functions of and to analyze the system used by Disney in fairy tales. As a result, Disney found that when it was adapted to B, it chose a family that matched the modern history. He also changed the relationship of characters in the premise that the plot of the story has not changed. Disney's analysis of the changing system in the adaptation of can be traced to other similar works.

  • After evaluation of presence of nits and/or lice, PARATM aerosol (bioallethrin with piperonyl butoxide) was applied to 97 women and 43 girls, regardless of the results of their infestation, living at 2 separate institutions. Twelve days after the first treatment the second treatment was carried out and the presence of head lice was examined for the evaluation of treatment effect. Among total 140 subjects, 98(70,0%) were nit positive and 85(60.7%) were louse positive. The infestation rates of girls by nit(86.0%) and louse(86.0%) were higher than those of women, nit 62.9% and louse 49.5%(p<0.01). Also the detection rate of lice among nit positive subjects was higher in girls(100%) than in women(78.7%). On the second evaluation 12 days after treatment, 36(97.3%) out of 37 girls and 46(95.8%) out of 48 women were found louse-free. There was no difference in the treatment efficacy between the women and girls.

  • If small cracks in stud bolts are not detected early enough, they grow rapidly and cause total fracture. It is difficult to detect, prior to failure, flaws such as stress-corrosion cracking in thread roots and corrosion wastages using conventional ultrasonic testing methods during inservice inspection. This study show a method of detecting a small crack by digital signal processing. When ultrasonic beams travels into threads in parallel way, the echoes from each successive threads has almost the same intervals between any two signals. We can estimate the next thread signal based on previous thread signal by the predictive distance. The optimized operator is used to remove the predicted successive thread signals so that a small crack signal can be detected.

  • A 50 $\mu\textrm{m}$ thick niobium filter and its quantitatively determined aluminum equivalent filter were evaluated for effects on entrance skin dose, image quality, and x-ray tube loading for three different tube voltages in radiology. There was no significant difference in the reducion in entrance skin dose and increase in tube loading between two filters while keeping radiographic contrast on the film. For the clinical use of the aluminum equivalent filter as an alternative to the niobium filter in radiology, aluminum equivalent filter thickness at the mid energy range of radiology, 90 kVp, was measured and the filter was applied to the other kVp values, 73 and 125 kVps, to evaluate the effect on the entrance skin dose and tube loading. There was no significant difference between two filter cases at the selected kVp. The aluminum filter with equivalent thickness can be used as an inexpensive alternative to the niobium filter.

  • Comparative study of retinal structure in two Korean endemic freshwater fishes, Zacco koreanus and Pseudobagrus koreanus, was carried out by light and scanning electron microscopy. In the visual cell layer comprised of cone cells and rod cells, the cone cells showed a distinct difference between both species. Z. koreanus had two types of cone cells, single cone cells including a long single and short single cone cells, and double cone cells, whereas P. koreanus had only one type of single cone cells having no its short single and long single cones. Meanwhile, the cone cells of Z. koreanus were arranged in more compact-rowed pattern, but it was more loose and irregular in P. koreanus. Based on field observation, Z. koreanus is mainly a epipelagic or sometimes benthopelagic and a diurnal fish with a round and large eye, while P. koreanus is a demersal and nocturnal fish with an oval and small eye. Therefore, the difference in the retinal structure of two species seems to be closely related to their ecological habitats.

Tafoni Patterns on Tuff Slopes in Gogulsa Temple, Gyeongju and Its Microstructural Properties (경주 골굴사 응회암 사면의 타포니 분포 특성과 미세구조)

  • There are a variety of types in tafoni formed in Miocene tuff from Golgulsa, Gyeongju. Tuff bearing tafoni was quite weathered, composed of quartz, feldspars, micas, vermiculite, chlorite, smectite, and analcite. In the early stage of the tafoni development, tafoni preferentially formed from cavities where volcanic breccias were removed or from microcavities where microcrystals were chemically altered. Small tafoni grew into large one by merging each other. The orientation of tafoni is inversely arranged to slopes, with slight inclination toward the inner cavity. Height, width, and depth of tafoni are closely interrelated: the correlation coefficients are 0.839 (width-height), 0.900 (width-depth), and 0.856 (height-depth), respectively. Removal of walls between tafoni resulted in lenticular or crescent forms, and small tafoni laterally combined to large tafoni. Large tafoni is weak because of high porosity and low strength compared to normal slope. Therefore, systematic monitoring for slope strength, pore proportion and volume, and growth of cavity needs to secure the slope stability where tafoni in Golgulsa is widespread.
