This study is designed to decode the persuasion strategies in the advertising targeted for children from a semiotic perspective. Semiotic approach to "decoding advertising text" allows us to classify advertising signs and sign systems in relation to the way they are transmitted and communicated. In this strategic process of advertising production, the producers use various "expressive techniques" and "persuasive appeals, premises, and ideology" shared by the members of the society. This study investigates Korean print media advertising for children with the following research questions: ① What types of expression techniques are employed in the print media advertising for children? ② What types of persuasive appeals(consumption values) are used in the print media advertising for children? ③ What are the persuasive premises(cultural premises) underlying those persuasive appeals? ④ What is the structure of ideology that governs those persuasive appeals and premises in the advertising for children? The study result reveals seven most frequently employed expressive techniques, ten major types of persuasive appeals and premises, and the structure of ideology governing the signs and signification systems in the advertising targeted for children.

The purpose of this study is to discover the occupational identity by examining the narrative of the life of a vocational training teacher with self-esteem in programming fields. The following six types of occupational identity were found: 'a positive image of a vocational training teacher(fits oneself)', 'I feel proud of myself while doing vocational training activities.', 'a teacher who continues to develop him/herself as an expert in the subject class', 'a teacher who immerses him/herself as an expert on student change and growth', 'a teacher engaged in leading activities to create opportunities for vocational training', and 'a teacher of continuous pursuit'. This study has significance in exploring the structure of occupational identity recognition and experience of its formation of a self-esteemed vocational training teacher in programming fields, which have not been studied.
This study has a purpose to develop vocational adjustment program that is essential for marriage immigrant women to settle down in our society and verify the effectiveness of the program. In order to develop practical program with reflecting their unique issues and experiences comparing to other groups, many diverse ways such as questionnaire, face to face in-depth interview, and expert-interview were used. Vocational adjustment program for marriage immigrant women was consisted of six parts like understanding multi-culture, basic economical concepts and practical use, vocation and labor market comprehension, self-understanding and analysis, cultivating organization adaptation and job capacities, establishing career goal. After carrying into effect the program, the result was significant differences in career identity, the understanding vocational information, adaptation of vocational culture, career aspiration to women who have taken the vocational adjustment program. Through the program, marriage immigrant women will be high in self-efficacy with the real recognition of the Korean labor market and expect their positive future which might be better than now. Finally this can help them adjust our society in the positive way.

Utilization of dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) and alkaline phosphatase (APase) activity by Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros didymus, Alexandrium tamarense and Heterosigma akashiwo under the phosphorus deficient condition were examined in the laboratory. S. costatum, C. didymus, A. tamarense and H. akashiwo could make use of phosphomonoester and nucleotide compounds for the growth of them as a phosphorus source. APase activity of S. costatum, C. didymus, A. tamarense and H. akashiwo began to be activated at dissolved inorganic phosphorus (DIP) concentrations less than $0.30\;{\mu}M$, $0.33\;{\mu}M$, $2.04\;{\mu}M$ and $0.63\;{\mu}M$ respectively, and their maximum APase activity were $0.01\;pmol\;cell^{-1}\;hr^{-1}$, $0.11\;pmol\;cell^{-1}\;hr^{-1}$, $1.63\;pmol\;cell^{-1}\;hr^{-1}$ and $0.19\;pmol\;cell^{-1}\;hr^{-1}$, respectively. Although each phytoplankton species displayed different APase activity for DOP utilization, their maximum APase activities were higher than maximum phosphorus uptake rates, inferring that these species might be able to keep growing under DIP-limited conditions thought utilizing effectively the hydrolized product of DOP. This result also implies that utilization of DOP might contribute to not only the growth of red tide forming phytoplankton but also the interspecific competition among phytoplankton species in coastal environments.

The aim of this study is to improve the curriculum for the fisheries processing department in fisheries junior college in Korea. For this study, questionaries to alumani and students of the fisheries processing department of Tong-Yeong Fisheries Junior College are made and meeting materials of professors concerned and some leading managers of food processing company. In addition, curricula of the department food processing in two year or four year colleges both domestic and foreign are refered. The results obtained can be shown as follows ; 1. Subjects of the standard laboratory work designated by the Ministry of Education and required at the practical techique examination for the food precessing technitian certificates were chosen to student compulsorily, and the other subjects necessary to acquistion of the techniques were opened in this course electively. 2. The food processing departments in nationwide twenty-three junior college open seventy-eight major subject courses. Among those subjects, we choose the subjects only related to fisheries processing ones to put stress on the features of fisheries processing department. 3. The selected courses in improved curricula of this work are total 119 credits spending 142 class-hour per weeks. Detailed curricula are as follows ; liberal arts are consist of 13 subjects-24 credits, essential major subjects 12 subjects-32 credits, elective subjects 24 subject-56 credits and interdisciplinary subjects 2 subjects-5 credits. 4. The linking system of industrial-educational co-operation have to be established to fulfil the field practice, and legal basis should be made to support these educational circumstances. 5. To make sure a live education in junior college, present education terms should be extended more than 1 year, and improved textbook, method of experiment, practice and evaluation continuously.
The demand for an environment-friendly transportation system, equipped with low energy consumption, and low-or zero-pollution has been on the increase since the beginning of the World Trade Organization era. Simultaneously, the consistent growth of high-speed tram technology, combined with market share, has sparked a fierce competition among technologically-advanced countries like France, Germany, and Japan in an effort to keep the lead in high-speed train technology via extensive Research and development(R&D) expenses. These countries are leaders in the race to implement the next-generation transportation system, build intercontinental rail way networks and export the high-speed train as a major industry commodity. The need to develop our own(Korean) 'high-speed train' technology and its core system technology layouts including original technology serves a few objectives: They boost the national competitive edge; they develop an environmental friendly rail road system that can cope with globalization and minimize the social and economic losses created by the growing traffic-congested delivery costs, environment pollution, and public discomforts. In turn, the 'G7 Project-Development of High Speed Railway Technology' held between 1996 and 2002 for a six-year period was focused on designing a domestic train capable of traveling at a speed of 350km/h combined and led to the actual implementation of engineering and producing the '2000 high-speed train:' This paper summarizes and introduces one of the G7 Projects-specifically, the design segment achievement within the development of train system engineering technology. It is true that the design aspect of the Korean domestic railway system program as a whole was lacking when compared with the advanced railroad countries whose early phase of train design emphasized the design aspect. However, having allowed the active participation of expert designers in the early phase of train design in the current project has led to a new era of domestic train development and the implementation of a way to meet demand flexibly with newly designed trains. The idea of a high-speed train in Korea and its design concept is well-conceived: a faster, more pleasant, and silent based Korean high-speed train that facilitates a new travel culture. A Korean-type of high-speed train is acknowledged by passengers who travel in such trains. The Korean high-speed prototype train has been born, combining aerodynamic air-cushioned design, which is the embodiment of Korean original design of forehead of power car minimized aerodynamic resistance using a curved car body profile, and the improvement of the interior design with ergonomics and the accommodation of the vestibule area through the study of passenger behavior and social culture that is based on the general passenger car.
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of different sources and level of dietary lipid on lecithin : cholesterol acyltrasferase activity and cholesterol metabolism in male rats of Sprague-Dawley strain. The effects of different lipid sources was compared with sardine oil($\omega$3 EPA and DHA), beef tallow(SFA), perilla oil($\omega$3 linolenic acid) and corn oil($\omega$6 linoleic acid). Diets were formulated in such a way that 10%, 20% and 40% dietary energy were supplied with each of four experimental lipid sources. Control diet contained only non-lipid energy. A total number of 78 rats, equally divided into 13 groups, were fed the experimental diets for a period of 6 weeks. In vitro cultures were also carried out to study the cholesterol synthetic activity in the liver prepared from rats used in feeding trials. The concentration of plasma total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and HDL-C/T/C(total cholesterol) ratio were significantly (p<0.001) influenced by dietary lipid sources. Higher HDL-cholesterol and lower LDL-cholesterol concentration in plasma were obtained in rats fed $\omega$3 fatty acid supplemented diets(sardine oil and perilla oil group) compared to diets containing $\omega$6 and saturated fatty acid(corn oil and beef tallow group). In total cholesterol concentration of plasma, beef tallow group was significantly (p<0.001) higher than other lipid groups, and non-lipid group was significantly(p<0.05) higher than the lipid supplemented groups. The activity of lecithin : cholesterol acyltransferase(LCAT) in plasma was greatly(p<0.001) affected by dietary lipid sources and levels. In LCAT acivity of plasma, lipid supplemented groups were significantly(p<0.05) higher than non-lipid group, vegetable oil groups were significantly (p<0.001) higher than animal fat groups, and sardine oil group were significalylty (p<0.001) higher than beef tallow group. Also perilla oil group was significanlty (p<0.05) higher than corn oil group, and sardine oil group was significantly (p<0.05) higher than perilla oil group. Low lipid group, compared with medium or high lipid group, showed higher activity of LCAT in plasma. In cholesterol synthetic activity of liver tissues culture, sardine oil group($\omega$3 EPA and DHA) was significantly(p<0.001) higher than other lipid groups, non-lipid group was significantly(p<0.001) higher than the lipid supplemented groups, and amimal fat group were significantly(p<0.001) higher than vegetable oil groups, but the synthetic activity was not affected by dietary lipid levels.
A series of experiments over three years was planned for practical application of rhizobia in farms and grass lands in Korea. This is the report for the studies of the first year mainly on the isolation and characterization of rhizobial strains, and on the assessment of their nodulation abilities and nitrogen fixation capacities. 1. Total number of 88 strains for soybean group and 22 st ra ins for pea and vetch group was isolated from nodules which were taken from legumes grown in Daekwanyong, Cheju and various places in Korea. 2. Morphological and cultural characteristics of the strains were studied, and attempts were also made to investigate their antigenic properties and to demonstrate lysogenic strains in these groups. The results were : i) the isolates varied in cultural characteristics on yeast mannitol broth and agar, and in degree of congo reel absorption ; ii) similarities in their antigenic properties were found between/among the strains: G-3/G-9/D216, G-20/G-52 in soybean group; iii) no lysogeny was found in the strains of these groups. 3. Plant infection tests by test tube and bottle method in light room were carried out to elucidate the ability of the strains to nodulate specific legumes and of the capacity of such nodules to fix atmospheric nitrogen. The isolates were grouped into non- invasive, ineffective, or effective to the legumes. Those strains which produced effective nodules, supporting similar level of growth as nitrate control, were: P-3, 4 and 8 in pea and vetch group; G-23, 27, and, D-216 in soybean group.
This study was conducted to provide basic data for improvement of the oral health management ability and the factors affecting oral health recognition and practice of 6th graders. The research subjects total 259 numbers of 6th grade students in two schools located in Changwon, it was investigated and analyzed with structured questionnaires. The collected data is analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0. The average oral health recognition score investigated were $3.19{\pm}0.41$, and $2.95{\pm}0.43$ for oral health practices. The oral health recognition was statistically significant differences by father's education (p<0.01), perceived oral health status (p<0.01), perceived grade (p<0.01), intention to attend oral health education (p<0.001). The oral health practices was statistically significant differences by father's education (p<0.01), perceived oral health status (p<0.001), perceived grade (p<0.05), parent's interest in child's toothbrushing (p<0.01), experience of oral health education (p<0.001), intention to attend oral health education (p<0.05). The factors that may improve the oral health recognition are in order of oral health practices, intention to attend oral health education, and parent's attention to child's tooth brushing. The factors that may improve the oral health practice was found to be in order of oral health recognition, parent's attention to child's tooth brushing, and perceived oral health status. As a result, in order to improve oral health management ability of 6th grade students, the surrounding environment, the attitude on oral care, the interest of oral, and the current disease status of oral health are required to be identified, then the oral health education program should be provided.

The purpose in this study was to provide a basic resource for enhancing teachers' professional competence by examining how the Home Economics(HE) teachers had formed, developed, and introspected the pedagogical content knowledge in the HE classes of secondary schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six HE teachers working at secondary schools. NVivo program, a kind of CAQDAS was used to analyze the data inductively. This study revealed that the HE teachers reflectively introspected the pedagogical content knowledge in Home Economics Education(H-PCK) as follows: First, as for knowledge of perspective on Home Economics Education(HEE), the research participants encouraged students to solve practical problems regarding the objective of HEE. They tried to foster the students' critical thinking ability related to the daily life. They made eager efforts to achieve the mission of HEE as a practical science. Second, as for knowledge of HE curriculum, the research participants mentioned that there was lack of systematic approach concerned with curriculum development. While reorganizing, they always paid attention to its relation to the students' daily lives, to the relationship between the curriculum contents and the social context. Third, as for knowledge of teaching strategies on practical problem-based instruction, the research participants developed the practical problem-based instruction skills. They mentioned students' difficulties in relating the practical problem-based instruction, too. Fourth, regarding knowledge of context, as teachers mostly prepared for progressed instruction alone without communicating with colleagues in the same school, they yearned for and also formed networks with other HE teachers in order to overcome their limitations.
