Based on the development of IT(information technology), the explosive diffusion and growth of the new media and services in Korea has attracted keen international attention. The construction of IT infrastructure driven by the proactive social informatization policy of the government has also been spectacular. Korea has persistently pursued strong 'new media-informatization policy' with three main objectives in mind: 1)Industrial-economic value creation; 2)socio-cultural value creation; and 3)building of the knowledge society-knowledge state. But its consequence is rather paradoxical. While its performance is excellent in terms of quantity growth of industry and technology, quality development of society, culture and knowledge creation is lagging far behind. This paradoxical outcome originates, not from any simple policy error, but from a structural problem inherent in new media-informatization policy in Korea which has long been captured by developmentalism. In order for Korea to harvest the reward of strong new media-informatization infrastructure, it needs to institute a policy structure based on a knowledge IT strategy such as research and development of core and patent technologies, design and production of quality contents, networking knowledge bases of society, etc.
0 and 1, two digits are principle and formality of digital media. Those principle and formality dwell in new media paradigm. They are founded on emergence of new types of space. As describing the relationship originating from the concepts of digital media paradigm and space and discussing their characteristics, this paper presents the grounds for a theoretical argument for formation of new space. The concept of virtuality which mimics and represents the real, non-linearity which resembles human system of thinking and sensing, and interactivity connecting the communication theory of human and machine, their properties form the important basis for emergence of a new aspect of space. The concepts of digital media paradigm divide a type of space into two properties. The first is a inner modality. The second is outer modality. Dynamic space implicates inner modality that humans internally recognize the sense of space through their body and sensing organs. Space is not sensed but sensing. Space has an organic nature through object's interaction. Space has an outer nature that is physically variable. Finally, space has properties of modularity that changes structure of space. For empirical basis of an argument, new media art that has architectural form and those spatial characteristics were compared and analyzed. This conceptual discussion for space which the formality of digital media is applied will be an important foundation for create space design.
Recently, the animation market requires a new consumption form of animation contents that can meet the trend and environment of a new era. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to seek new changes in paradigm by analyzing the animation examples from media to media in order to confirm in which form animation genres are changed in the ers of media convergence. The finding shows that the paradigm changes in animation are essentially caused by the development of internet communication technology, the interactiveness, and the emergence of new media by media characteristics. As a result, the environment of consumption involves the introduction of active marketing centered on personal media and the new insight into the genre of animation, and the industry of animation has a high possibility of developing into a leading industry in the future based on the development of creation technology and on the paradigm of empirical economy and requires the animation education based on new media. This study will find its significance in that it may provide the basis of study in terms of theory and practice of the creation animation research focused on new media.
The development of various media and technologies as a digital paradigm brought about a change in perception of the times along with the culture and art industry, and the innovative influence of new media accelerated the change in the environment for experiencing art. Technological and art converge and emerge due to changes in the digital environment, and New Media Art centered on interaction and participation enables two-way communication. As research on the interaction between domestic and foreign digital paradigms and New Media Art continues, this study also focused on this. In this study, the elements of experience in New Media Art were defined and their effects on motivation to use them were verified. In New Media Art, based on the theoretical basis of the existing experience factors and applying and analyzing the factors of motivation, it was verified that the factors of experience were applied as very useful variables, and it was confirmed that they actually affect usage motivation. The conclusion and significance of this study were discussed in that it was an early study that was used as a path on the use motives of experienced users according to the interaction characteristics in New Media Art.
New media art moves out of place and time constraints, sublimates the benefits of technology into art, and presents a new way of communication with the audience. This paper analyses the tendency of nonverbal communication methods by analysing examples of facial expressions and sound used in new media art from early times. As a result, it can be seen that the digital paradigm in the new media art has a nonlinear thinking, which makes a perceptual reduction of immersion and dispersion. The facial expression in new media art made it possible not only to overcome the limit of space and time of various expressions through 'visual distortions, enlargement, and virtualisation', but also to enable new ways of communication to display facial parts combined or separated in the digital environment. The sound in new media art does not stay in auditory sense, but pursues multi-sensory and synesthesia by cooperating with visual and tactile, evolves by revealing characteristics of space expansion and sensibility and interaction of audience.
UCC(User Created Content) is attracted public attention in the era of web2.0 that users create, distribute and consume various kinds of media content through a web platform standing on participation, collaboration and openness. As most discussion about UCC is centered on making benefit using it, it is understood as 'the information commodity' which is appropriated to new media environment. But UCC have to be understood not only as the information commodity but as 'the state of media'. UCC can be classified into two types based on desire for transparency and opaqueness from the media's genealogical point of view which is the logic of 'remediation' that J.Bolter and R.Grusin suggested. In the convergence era that a lot of new media appear, for example IPTV and DMB, this study devise a method of the utilization of UCC from diverse aspects of remediation in the paradigm of convergence.
The purpose of this study is to find a way to revive newspaper industry against digital new media revolution such as the internet, SNS(Social Network Service). To this end, indepth-interviews were conducted with the target incumbent senior reporters. The research areas are consisted of four subjects. For instance Awareness about the newspaper business crisis, the need for profitable business, potential conflicts of journalism and business, and desirable business. As a result of my research, executive reporters said that There is no management strategy Against the rapid expansion of social media and Therefore Business diversification is required. The paper explores the relationship among paradigms, ecosystem which need to establish broadcasting, information and communications industry as the core of national competitiveness in the digital convergence era, and proposes the future progressing strategies and policies directions that consider environmental factors which all mass media converged on Internet. This paper makes an attempt to contribute innovative & integrated perspectives in the industry.
Recently the more convenient services are provided to people in the city in line with the change of city paradigm and the recent development of ubiquitous. For example, Information on bus arrivals an effective advertisement the combination of high technology and departures through smart-phones. However, in respect of the mobile advertisement, because of difficulties such as the means of transferring the mass storage data or the burden of communication charges. there need means to improve such difficulties. This study has been conducted aiming to overcome such difficulties. This study suggests the strategic differentiation plan through the analysis of the media characteristics such as real time service information when in traveling, U-Bus business model in the category of mobile advertisement, etc. and also the concrete system establishment plan from the operation center via network to the delivery of the advertisement through vehicle terminals. In respect that this study suggests the implications as a practical business model through the fusion of high technology and diverse media. It has great significance.
The focus of the study is to propose a long-term teaching and learning direction of one-person creative enterprise by college students in the field of the industry of Applied Music Contents. Critical review on literature and theories related to the recent trends of Applied Music industry and entrepreneurship education was conducted. The study introduced a macro level of four educational principles of Applied Music studies at a college such as: integrating Applied Music education with a viewpoint of humanities, fostering creative entrepreneur spirits of students in the field of Applied Music, applying new social media and technologies into teaching knowledge and skills of Applied Music, and finally developing students' authentic music expertise under cognitive apprenticeship(by a relationship of mentor-mentee) of Applied Music.
