Leak-Before-Break (LBB) Assessment Method Considering Crack Nonlinearity Using Effective Elastic Modulus and Material Nonlinearity (유효탄성계수를 이용한 균열 비선형 및 재료 비선형을 고려한 파단전누설(LBB) 평가 방법)

  • With the increase in the thermal power output of recently developed nuclear power plants, the applied forces and moments are increased in some piping systems, so that the leak-before-break (LBB) application criteria would not be satisfied in those pipes. In this paper, we present a method for obtaining the additive LBB margin in the pipes by considering the nonlinearity of the crack and material properties. Finite element analysis and the moment-rotation equation of beam theory were used to calculate the nonlinearity of the crack and material properties. Moreover crack stability analysis was performed using the method proposed in this study. The LBB margin was increased effectively through consideration of the nonlinearity of the crack and material properties in the pipe.

V3Si 나노입자 메모리소자의 열적안정성 및 전하누설 근원분석

  • 최근 비 휘발성 메모리 시장의 확대와 수요가 많아지면서, 비휘발성 메모리 소자의 제작에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히, 실리사이드 나노입자를 적용한 소자는 현 실리콘 기반의 반도체 공정의 적용이 용이하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실리사이드 계열의 화합물 중에서 일함수가 4.63 eV인 Vanadium silicide (V3Si) 나노입자 메모리소자를 제작하여 전기적 특성과 열 안정성에 대하여 알아보았다. p-Si기판에 약 6nm 두께의 SiO2 터널층을 건식 산화 방법으로 성장시킨 후 V3Si 나노입자를 제작하기 위해서 V3Si 금속박막을 스퍼터링 방법으로 4 nm~6 nm의 두께로 터널 절연막 위에 증착시켰다. 그리고 컨트롤 절연막으로 SiO2를 초고진공 스퍼터를 이용하여 50 nm 증착하였고, 급속 열처리 방법으로 질소 분위기에서 $800^{\circ}C$의 5초 동안 열처리하여 V3Si 나노 입자를 형성하였다. 마지막으로 200 nm두께의 Al을 증착하고, 리소그래피 공정을 통하여 채널 길이와 너비가 각각 $2{\mu}m$, $5{\mu}m$, $10{\mu}m$를 가지는 트랜지스터를 제작하였다. 제작된 시편의 V3Si 나노입자의 크기와 균일성은 투과 전자 현미경으로 확인하였고, 후 열처리 공정 이후 V3Si의 존재여부의 확인을 위해서 X-ray 광전자 분광법의 표면분석기술을 이용하여 확인하였다. 소자의 전기적인 측정은 Agilent E4980A LCR meter, 1-MHz HP4280A와 HP 8166A pulse generator, HP4156A precision semiconductor parameter analyzer을 이용하여 측정온도를 $125^{\circ}C$까지 변화시키면서 전기적인 특성을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 온도에 선형적 의존성을 가지는 전하누설 모델인 T-model 을 이용하여 나노입자 비휘발성 메모리소자의 전하누설 근원을 확인한 후, 메모리 소자의 동작 특성과의 물리적인 연관성을 논의하였다. 이를 바탕으로 나노입자 비휘발성 메모리소자의 열적안정성을 확보하고 소자 특성향상을 위한 최적화 구조를 제안하고자 한다.

Comparison of the Friction-Loss Coefficient for the Gap of Two Contact Surfaces and a Crack (접촉한 두 평면과 균열한 틈새에서의 유동마찰계수 비교)

  • A leak-detection method has been developed by measuring the pressure variation between the inner and outer heattransfer tubes of a double-wall tube steam generator. An experiment was carried out to measure the leak rate in the gap between two surfaces pressed with a hydraulic press in order to simulate the phenomena, and a correlation was determined for the leak rate in a micro gap. However, in the correlation, the gap width and friction coefficient were coupled with the surface roughness, which affects the two parameters. The two parameters were separated using a surface-contact model to develop a correlation for the friction coefficient. The correlation was compared with the existing correlations used for crack analysis. Although the applied ranges of Reynolds numbers were different, the developed correlation for Reynolds numbers of 0.1.0.35 showed similar tendencies to existing correlations used for higher Reynolds numbers.

A Study on the Through-Flow Analysis for a Multi-Stage Axial Turbine Considering Leakage Flows (누설 유동을 고려한 다단 축류 터빈의 유선곡률해석법에 대한 연구)

  • The streamline curvature method is essentially used for the design procedure of multi-stage axial turbines. Moreover, by using this method, it is possible to consider the turbine loss characteristics for real operating conditions at an early design stage. However, there is not enough relevant research in South Korea to support this. In the present study, the streamline curvature method and the empirical equation for calculating the mixing loss are employed to predict the performance of a multi-stage axial turbine with leakage flows. The proposed method is applied to the prediction of the performance of a five-stage axial turbine with leakage flows, as used for an industrial gas turbine of 86 MW in South Korea. The calculation result is compared with 3D CFD data, and the advantages and limitations of the streamline curvature method are described.

Structure of Tip Leakage Flow in a Forward-Swept Axial-Flow Fan (전향 스윕 축류형 팬에서의 팁 누설 유동 구조)

  • A computational analysis using Reynolds stress model in FLUENT is conducted to give a clear understanding of the effect of blade loading on the structure of tip leakage flow in a forward-swept axial-flow fan at design condition ($\phi$=0.25) and off-design condition ($\phi$=0.21 and 0.30). The roll-up of tip leakage flow starts near the minimum static wall pressure position, and the tip leakage vortex developes along the centerline of the pressure trough within the blade passages. Near tip region, a reverse flow induced by tip leakage vortex has a blockage effect on the through-flow. As a result, high momentum region is observed below the tip leakage vortex. As the blade loading increases, the reverse flow region is more inclined toward circumferential direction and the onset position of the rolling-up of tip leakage flow moves upstream. Because the casing boundary layer becomes thicker, and the mixing between the through-flow and the leakage jet with the different flow direction is enforced, the streamwise vorticity decays more fast with blade loading increasing. The computational results show that a distinct tip leakage vortex is observed downstream of the blade trailing edge at $\phi$=0.30, but it is not observed at $\phi$=0.21 and 0.25.

  • LLC 공진형 컨버터는 주스위치의 ZVS와 출력정류단의 ZCS가 가능하여 높은 효율로 동작하고, 출력단에 인덕터를 사용하지 않는 장점으로 널리 사용되고 있다. LLC 공진형 컨버터의 출력단 구조는 크게 변압기의 센터탭(Center Tap) 방식과 출력정류기를 Full Bridge로 구성하는 방식이 있는데, 정류기 손실과 재료비 측면을 고려하면 센터탭 방식이 유리하다. 그러나 센터탭으로 분리된 2차측 권선간의 누설 인덕턴스 차이로 인하여 컨버터 동작의 반주기 마다 공진이 어긋날 수 있고, 출력정류단에 흐르는 전류의 RMS 크기도 매 반주기마다 달라져서 동작효율의 감소를 가져올 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 LLC 공진형 컨버터의 수학적 모델로부터 2차측 권선의 누설 인덕턴스 차이의 영향을 예측하고, 그 영향을 최소화할 수 있는 권선법을 제안한다. 또한 400W급 컨버터에서 실험을 통하여 제안한 방식을 실증하고자 한다.

  • An experimental analysis using three-dimensional laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV) measurement and computational analysis using the Reynolds stress model in FLUENT are conducted to give a clear understanding of the effect of blade loading on the structure of tip leakage flow in a forward-swept axial-flow fan operating at the maximum efficiency condition ($\Phi$=0.25) and two off-design conditions ($\Phi$=0.21 and 0.30). As the blade loading increases, the onset position of the rolling-up of tip leakage flow moves upstream and the trajectory of tip leakage vortex center is more inclined toward the circumferential direction. Because the casing boundary layer becomes thicker and the mixing between the through-flow and the leakage jet with the different flow direction is enforced, the streamwise vorticity decays more fast with the blade loading increasing. A distinct tip leakage vortex is observed downstream of the blade trailing edge at $\Phi$=0.30, but it is not observed at $\Phi$=0.21 and 0.25.

  • 본 논문은 LLC 공진형 컨버터의 고전력밀도를 위한 IM(Integrated Magnetics)을 제안한다. 일반적으로 컨버터의 전력밀도는 사용되는 변압기, 인덕터와 같은 자기소자에 의해 결정되므로, 평판형 자기소자(Planar Magnetics)는 고 전력밀도화에 매우 적합하다. 하지만 LLC 공진형 컨버터에 평판형 자기소자를 적용할 경우 높은 자기 결합도에 의해 공진을 위한 충분한 누설 인덕턴스를 얻을 수 없다. 따라서 공진동작을 위한 추가적인 인덕터의 사용이 필수적이며, 전력밀도는 감소하게 된다. 반면, 제안방식은 자기소자 내부에 형성되는 두 개의 자화 인덕터를 공진 인덕터로 사용하기 때문에 공진동작에 필요한 누설 인덕터가 필요하지 않다. 또한, 이러한 두 개의 자화 인덕터는 하나의 자기소자에 집적화 할 수 있으므로 고 전력밀도에 유리한 구조를 갖는다. 더불어, 공진동작에 필요한 모든 파마리터가 설계자의 의도대로 설계가능하기 때문에 컨버터 최적설계가 매우 유리하다. 제안방식의 타당성을 확인하기 위하여 자기소자 모델을 통한 효율분석 및 350W-800kHz 시작품에 대한 실험결과를 제시한다.

Performance analysis of a scroll compressor considering quasi one-dimensional leakage modeling and heat transfer loss (준 1차원 누설모델링 및 열전달 손실을 고려한 스크롤압축기의 성능해석)

  • A numerical method of calculating the performance of a scroll compressor for refrigerant R-22 and R-134a is presented in this paper. A series of involute curves are employed for the scroll wrap design and the compression volume is investigated geometrically. The radial leakage flow rate through tip clearance is calculated by the two-dimensional compressible flow. On the basis of the results, quasi one-dimensional leakage modeling can be applied to the performance analysis of a scroll compressor, more effectively. Furthermore, the heat transfer effect between scroll wrap and working fluid in compression chamber is considered for the performance analysis. As the results of this study, the effects of the radial and tangential leakage flow rate and heat transfer on the scroll compressor performance are derived precisely. These results may provide the guideline for the design and development of a real scroll compressor.

Relationship of Threshold Voltage Roll-off and Gate Oxide Thickness in Asymmetric Junctionless Double Gate MOSFET (비대칭형 무접합 이중게이트 MOSFET에서 산화막 두께와 문턱전압이동 관계)

  • The threshold voltage roll-off for an asymmetric junctionless double gate MOSFET is analyzed according to the top and bottom gate oxide thicknesses. In the asymmetric structure, the top and bottom gate oxide thicknesses can be made differently, so that the top and bottom oxide thicknesses can be adjusted to reduce the leakage current that may occur in the top gate while keeping the threshold voltage roll-off constant. An analytical threshold voltage model is presented, and this model is in good agreement with the 2D simulation value. As a result, if the thickness of the bottom gate oxide film is decreased while maintaining a constant threshold voltage roll-off, the top gate oxide film thickness can be increased, and the leakage current that may occur in the top gate can be reduced. Especially, it is observed that the increase of the bottom gate oxide thickness does not affect the threshold voltage roll-off.
