Design and Implementation of Open Web Map Server (개방형 웹 맵 서버의 설계 및 구현)

  • Over the past few years, a number of studies have been made on web map services which enable the GIS user to access spatial data through the web. They, however. have focused on only implementation techniques separately, such at map client implementation map server implementation, communication between client and server, and the map data representation. Therefore, it is hard to share and practical use the spatial data, because they does not ensure interoperability in heterogeneous map servers. In this paper, In this paper, we have designed and implemented the web map server with open architecture. which complies with the standard interfaces proposed by OpenGIS Consortium (OGC). In particular, we have extended the OGC's Interfaces for a map server to support one or more data sources. This paper has contributed to construction and practical use of web map services by newly proposing the method of implementation of a map server. which could be reused regardless of the types of data sources.

Development of a Writing Program Using a Mind-map Software (마인드맵 소프트웨어를 활용한 논술 프로그램 개발)

  • The aim of teaching writing is not to memorize a single piece of knowledge but to acquire higher thinking that could be related to other fields using learners' various reading experiences and schemata. Among several strategies or techniques to write well, it is recommended to use a mind-map technique. A mind-map software applies the mind-map technique into computer for learners to study autonomously. However, the mind-map software is not common in educational fields yet and there are only few studies on the effect of it. Therefore, this study analyzed various curricula to extract the elements of writing and developed a mind-map software program which was applied and tested. As a result, the writing program using the mind-map software was effective in promoting learners' motivation and lowering anxiety. It also improved learners' competence of writing such as understanding, analytic thinking, creativity, ability to organize, and expression.

Text Region Segmentation from Web Images using Variance Maps (분산맵을 이용한 웹 이미지 텍스트 영역 추출)

  • A variance map can be used to detect and distinguish texts from background in images. However, previous variance maps work at one level and they suffer a limitation in dealing with varieties in text size, slant, orientation, translation, and color. We present a method for robustly segmenting text regions in complex color Web images using two-level variance maps. The two-level variance maps work hierarchically. The first level finds the approximate locations of text regions using global horizontal and vertical color variances with the specific mask sizes. The second level then segments each text region using intensity variance with a local mask size, which is determined adaptively. By the second process, backgrounds tend to disappear in each region and segmentation can be accurate. Highly promising experimental results have established the effectiveness of our approach.

Building Hierarchical Bitmap Indices in Space Constrained Environments (저장 공간이 제약된 환경에서 계층적 비트맵 인덱스 생성에 관한 연구)

  • Since bitmap indices are useful for OLAP queries over low-cardinality data columns, they are frequently used in data warehouses. In many data warehouse applications, the domain of a column tends to be hierarchical, such as categorical data and geographical data. When the domain of a column is hierarchical, hierarchical bitmap index is able to significantly improve the performance of queries with conditions on that column. This strategy, however, has a limitation in that when a large scale hierarchy is used, building a bimamp for each distinct node leads to a large space overhead. Thus, in this paper, we introduce the way to build hierarchical bitmap index on an attribute whose domain is organized into a large-scale hierarchy in space-constrained environments. Especially, in order to figure out space overhead of hierarchical bitmap indices, we propose the cut-selection strategy which divides the entire hierarchy into two exclusive regions.

  • 최근 웹이 확산됨에 따라 일반인들의 인터넷 이용이 급증하였고, 이와 관련된 정보 기술도 빠르게 변화하고 있다. GIS 분야에서도 지리정보를 웹상에서 제공하는 웹 GIS 분야가 등장하게 되었다. OGC(OpenGIS Consortium)에서는 기존 OpenGIS(Open Geodata Interoperability Specification)의 상호운용성을 웹 상에서 지원하고, 또한 상호 이질적인 지리정보의 접근을 위해 웹 맵 서비스 구현 명세(Web Map Service Interfaces Implementation Specification)를 제안하였다. 웹 맵 서비스 구현 명세는 웹 상에서 공간 질의를 처리하기 위한 URL 컴포넌트를 정의하고 있으며, URL 형식의 클라이언트 질의를 수행한 결과로 이미지, GML, SVG 등의 지리정보를 반환하도록 정의하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹 맵 서비스 인터페이스를 이용해 분산된 지리정보를 웹 브라우저를 통하여 서비스할 수 있는 왱 럼 서비스를 설계 및 구현하였다. 따라서 다양한 사용자들은 별도의 응용 프로그램을 개발하지 않고도 본 논문에서 개발한 쇰 맵 서비스를 통해 다양한 GIS 서버들의 종류와 위치에 관계없이 표준 인터페이스를 통해 지리정보를 획득할 수 있다

  • In this paper, we provide a basic data to constitute knowledge map through analysis of competition situation such as analysis of patent activity for each nationality, analysis of patent activity for each applicant for a patent, analysis of patent activity for each technical area and analysis of competition status for power of security for market which consider qualitative level. In order to analysis LED data, we choose patent data of LED.

  • This paper proposes a road-map from entering into the cyber spaces to getting to the success of cyber businesses. In order to succeed in cyber businesses, the nature of cyber space, attributes of the businesses and circumstances of the business owner have to be integrated and resolved. This road-map consists of integrated stepwise phases of understanding cyber spaces and developing cyber businesses.

온톨로지 기반의 지식맵 서비스 시스템의 설계 및 구현

  • 지식관리시스템의 지식 분류 체계가 지식맵이며 이 지식맵을 이용하여 지식 서비스가 제공된다. 그러나 현재의 지식맵은 비표준적인 지식 네트웍 구조와 정적인 분류체계라는 문제를 가진다. 문제 해결 방법은 지식맵에 온틀로지를 적용해서 표준성, 의미 기반의 지식 네트웍 구조. 동적인 지식분류, 자동화된 지식서비스를 제공하는 새로운 개념의 지식맵을 구현하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 토픽맵 모델을 기반으로 온톨로지를 생성, 저장, 검색하는 효율적인 온톨로지 관리 시스템인 K-Box를 구현하였다. K-Box는 온톨로지 관리를 위한 기본적인 기능들을 제공하며, 이질적인 저장소들을 일관된 인터페이스로 접근할 수 있도록 함으로써 저장 장치 독립성을 제공하였다. 또한, 저장 관리되는 모든 온톨로지들의 무결성을 보장하기 위한 새로운 기법과 사용자 관심을 중심으로 한 온톨로지 검색 지원을 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 마지막으로, 우리는 여러 온톨로지들을 적용해 봄으로써 K-Box 시스템이 효율적으로 사용 가능함을 확인하였다.

A Design for XMDR Search System Using the Meta-Topic Map (메타-토픽맵을 이용한 XMDR 검색 시스템 설계)

  • Recently many researchers have been studying various methods for data integration. Among the integration methods that the researchers have studied, there are a method using metadata repository, and Topic Map which identifies the relationships between the data. This study suggests Meta-Topic Map to create Topic Map about search keyword by applying metadata and Topic Map, and the XMDR as a way to connect Meta-Topic Map with metadata in the legacy system. Considering the semantic relationship of user's keyword in the legacy system, the Meta-Topic Map provides the Topic Map format and generates the Topic Map about user's keyword. The XMDR performs structural integration through solving the problem of heterogeneity among metadata in the legacy system. The suggested svides isproves the interoperability among existing Relational Database constructed in the legacy system and the search efficiency and is efficient in expanding the system.

A Development Tool for Web Applications based on Cocoon Framework (Cocoon 프레임웨크를 기반으로 하는 웹 애플리케이션 개발 도구)

  • As the complexity of Web applications have increased significantly, the approach using frameworks such as Cocoon, Struts, JSF, is being suggested to develop Web applications more Quickly and efficiently. However, it Is difficult for beginners to write Apache Cocoon Sitemap files in XML. We implement a Cocoon Sitemap editor on the Java Servlet engine that allows beginners to write Cocoon Sitemap files more easily. Our system consists of three parts: Sitemap Main editor, Pipeline Viewer, and Sitemap Tracer. Sitemap Main editor support users to write BML configuration documents, so-called Sitemap file, that defines all the components pipelines, generators, and other configuration information for a Cocoon application. pipeline Viewer support users to catch the structure of Cocoon component pipelines by the medium of graphical interface. Sitemap Tracer have features to monitor of SAX events through Cocoon pipelines in a Sitemap file.
