The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for reducing aging anxiety and for effective prevention and management of dementia by identifying the effects of perception and attitude toward dementia on aging anxiety. The subjects of this study were 509 citizens living in J city, Chungbuk. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the effects of dementia awareness and attitude on aging anxiety. The results of this study showed that the factors affecting the aging anxiety were significantly affected by the dementia awareness, which means that the lower the dementia awareness, the higher the aging anxiety. However, the attitude toward dementia did not have a significant effect on the anxiety about aging. Based on the results of this study, policy suggestions are as follows: First, systematic education and education programs for the promotion of dementia awareness are needed. Second, promotion for the improvement of dementia awareness is needed. Third, it is necessary to establish a community network to improve the awareness of dementia.

This study aimed to examine climacteric symptoms, health promoting behaviors, aging anxiety in middle-aged women and determine whether these variables influence aging anxiety. The subjects were 228 middle-aged women. SPSS 27.0 was used to perform t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The average age of the participants was 53.25 years old. Climacteric symptoms (r=.552, p<.001), health promoting behaviors (r=-.290, p<.001) were significantly correlated with aging anxiety. The participants' perception of their health status (β=-.132, p<.001), climacteric symptoms (β=.464, p=.016), and health promoting behaviors (β=-.146, p=.005) were significant predictors of aging anxiety, and the explanatory power of these variables was 33.7.0%. This study reveals the necessity that health promotion programs should be provided, taking into consideration personal perceptions of menopausal symptoms and health.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of middle-aged women's social support and self-efficacy on their aging anxiety, with the ultimate goal of providing basic information for devising educational and interventive programs to help reduce aging anxiety. Participants of this study were 210 middle-aged women living in B Metropolitan City. Data were collected from May 10 to 28, 2018, and statistically processed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Participants showed significant differences in aging anxiety depending on age, education, monthly income, marital life satisfaction, leisure time activities, and number of friends. In addition, aging anxiety had significant negative correlations with social support and self-efficacy, and the main factors affecting middle-aged women's aging anxiety were found to be self-efficacy, marital satisfaction and social support. Of these, self-efficacy had the greatest effect, explaining 42.7% of the participants' aging anxiety. To help middle-aged women reduce their aging anxiety, it is necessary to provide them with programs that improve social activity participation, raise self-efficacy and promote relationships with family and communities. It is also recommended that these women be provided with educational and interventive programs that help them adjust to aging and develop a positive awareness of it.
This study has two objectives. First, this study examines subjective well-being among elders that operationalize life satisfaction and aging anxiety, guided by life-course perspective. Second, it examines the relationship between subjective well-being and age-friendly environment factor structure among age-cohort groups. This study employs the stratified sampling method from 4,000 Seoul citizens. Main findings from the multivariate regression analyses include: (1) as age increases, aging anxiety levels appeared to be higher, while decreasing the life satisfaction. (2) a substantially larger variance of life satisfaction and aging anxiety was accounted for by demographic variables and age-friendly environments across age-cohort groups. (3) the influence of age-friendly environment factors such as neighborhood problems, accessibility to social activities, social services and parks on subjective well-being was different across age-cohort groups. This study discusses the policy and practical implications of the results.
Meta-analysis was conducted on 34 studies reported in Korea from February 2007 through March 2017 to systematically integrate factors of aging anxiety of the middle and old aged. The variables related to aging anxiety were divided into 6 groups of variable, and the effect sizes were computed for each variable of their groups. The results are as follows. First, the total effect size showed the middle effect size, and the effect size according to the variable group showed the largest effect size for the negative psychological variable group, followed by the positive psychological variable, the social variable, the physical variable, the familial variable and the demographic variable. Second, the largest effect size of the sub-variables showed psychological well-being and death anxiety. As described above, suggesting that these variables may have a strong influence on aging anxiety among the variables related to aging anxiety because the psychological well-being and death anxiety were shown as the largest effective variables related to aging anxiety.

This study examined the factors influencing aging anxiety in university students. The participants were 239 nursing students from one university in Seoul. Data were collected from September to December in 2014 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The average score for aging-anxiety was 2.94, for knowledge about the elderly 18.92, for attitude toward the elderly 65.5, for participants' supporting awareness of old parents 4.05, and for self-esteem 3.07. There were negative correlations between aging anxiety, attitude toward the elderly, supporting awareness of old parents, and self-esteem. Aging-anxiety was significantly influenced by age, gender, living with grandparents, attitude toward the elderly, supporting awareness of old parents, and self-esteem. In view of the results of this study, one of the strategic ways to help college students reduce aging anxiety is to provide an opportunity to participate in activities that they can experience positive relationship with elderly.
The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of social support and health promotion behavior on aging anxiety among middle aged women. The sample for this study consisted of 160 women aged 40 to 60 living in C city in Korea. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 23.0. It was found that: (a) aging anxiety had a negative correlation with health promoting behavior(r=-.614, <.001), spousal support(r=-.411, <.001), whereas health promotion behavior had a positive correlation with spousal support(r=.429, <.001) (b) Factors influencing aging anxiety were identified as following; nutrition, stress management, menopause, spousal support with 44.7% explanatory power. In this study, it was found that nutrition, stress management, spouse support, and menopause awareness among middle-aged women lowered aging anxiety. Further research is needed to develop programs that include these variables and to verify their effects.

All of 166 responses except for 34 incomplete ones were used for analysis. Firstly, analysis result confirmed correlation among familism, anxiety over aging, elderly group's attitude and variables in sense of filial duty. Multicollinearity between variables were confirmed using VIF values. Secondly, the effect that familism recognized by college students has on anxiety over aging and elderly group's attitude was confirmed. Thirdly, partial mediation effect of a sense of filial duty was confirmed in the effect that familism recognized by college students has on anxiety over aging.
