  • Network coding is that the nodes can combine and mix the packets rather than merely forward them. Therefore, network coding is expected to improve throughput and channel efficiency in the wireless network. Relevant researches have been carried out to adapt network coding to wireless multi-hop network. In this paper, we designed the network coding for bidirectional traffic service in routing layer and IP layer of Ad-hoc network. From the simulation result, the traffic load and the end to end distance effect the performance of the network coding. As end to end distance and the traffic load become larger, the gain of network coding become more increased.

  • With the rapid increase of energy consumption and environmental problems, the need for green techniques is increasing. Network coding can provide a solution by reducing unnecessary data transmission and by estimating traffic patterns. In addition, it can amplify the synergy with the cognitive radio network (CR) since the CR has recognition and optimal decision functionalities. In this paper, we propose a network coding based green cognitive radio network. With the simulations, we show that the proposed scheme is up to 25% better than the previous work.

(Information Granules and Symbolic Encoding-based Fuzzy Set Polynomial Neural Networks ; IG and SE based FSPNN)의 모델 설계를 제안한다.

  • In one of the most impacting schemes proposed to address the TCP throughput problem over network coding, the network coding layer sends an acknowledgement if an innovative linear combination is received, even when a new packet is not decoded. Although this scheme is very effective, its implementation requires a limit on the coding window size. This limitation causes low TCP throughput in the presence of packet reordering. We argue that a TCP variant detecting a packet loss relying only on timers is effective in dealing with the packet reordering problem in network coding environments as well. Also we propose a new network coding layer to support such a TCP variant. Simulation results for a 2-path environment show that our proposed scheme improves TCP throughput by 19%.

  • Work to improve network throughput has been focused on network coding as the utilization of IoT-based application services increases and network usage increases rapidly. In network coding, nodes transform packets received from neighboring nodes into a combination of encoded packets for transmission and decoding at the destination. This scheme is based on trust among nodes, but in the IoT environment where nodes are free to join, a malicious node can fabricate the packet if it legally participates in the configuration. It is difficult to identify the authenticity of the encoded packet since the packet received at destination is not a single source but a combination of packets generated by several nodes. In this paper, we propose a method to detect "look-like-valid" packets that have been attacked and disguised in packets received at destination, and to identify valid messages in the reconstructions. This method shows that network coding performance is significantly improved because the destination can reconstruct a valid message with only received packets without retransmission with a high probability, despite the presence of disguised packets.

  • Recently, studies for the network coding in the wireless network to achieve improvement of the network capacity are conducted. In this paper, we analysis considerations to apply RLNC in the wireless network. First of all, we verify whether the RLNC method in multicast is applied to distributed wireless network. In simulation results, the decoding failure can occur in the original manner of multicast. In RLNC which conducts encoding and decoding in X topology to gets rid of the decoding failure, the RLNC gain is insignificant. In this paper we also discuss considerations such as the hidden node problem, the occurrence of coding opportunity, and the RLNC overhead which are practical issues in the wireless network.

  • Position encoding is a method of applying weights according to position of words that appear in a sentence. Pointer networks is a deep learning model that outputs corresponding index with an input sequence. This model can be applied to coreference resolution using attribute. However, the pointer networks has a problem in that its performance is degraded when the length of input sequence is long. To solve this problem, we proposed two contributions to resolve the coreference. First, we applied position encoding and dynamic position encoding to pointer networks. Second, we stack deeply layers of encoder to make high-level abstraction. As results, the position encoding based stacked pointer networks model proposed in this paper had a CoNLL F1 performance of 71.78%, which was improved by 6.01% compared to vanilla pointer networks.

  • Recent studies on network coding scheme for increasing transmission efficiency of the network has been actively conducted. In this paper, we apply RLNC in sub-packet unit and propose a joint scheme of sub-packet level network coding and LDPC code. The proposed method can have similar ability of network coding and obtain further error correction capability. The simulation results show that the proposed one enhances error correction capability compared to the case using only LDPC when extra packets are received.

  • In this paper, we investigate how the IEEE 802.16 based wireless system can adopt the network coding. To avoid the problem of overhearing, we focus on the bidirectional traffic, where each end node exchanges network coded data over a relay node. The bidirectional traffic is usually observed in Internet, where TCP makes congestion control and error recovery based on the acknowledgement from the opposite direction. Thus, enhancing the spectral efficiency of wireless Internet through the network coding is expected. Our simulation with realistic radio characteristics and TCP-like traffic shows that the network coding improves the throughput by an average of 36 percent compared to the simple relay case.
