  • The wireless transmission medium inherently broadcasts a signal to all neighbor nodes in the transmission range. Existing asynchronous MAC protocols do not provide a concrete solution for reliable broadcast in link layer. This mainly comes from that an omnidirectional broadcasting causes to reduce the network performance due to the explosive collisions and contentions. This paper proposes a directional broadcast protocol by using neighborhood information in the link layer based o,1 directional antennas, named MNDB (MAC protocol with Neighborhood for reliable Directional Broadcast). This protocol makes use of neighborhood information and DMACA (Directional Multiple Access and Collision Avoidance) scheme through 4-way handshake to support a reliable directional broadcast. To analyze its performance, MNDB protocol si compared with $RMDB^{[1]}$, the protocol 2 of reference [3], and IEEE 802.11 $protocol^{[9]}$, in terms of the number of collisions, the number of dropped packets, the number of redundant packets, and broadcast delay.

  • This study aims to observe the impacts of entrepreneurship and market orientation of Seoul's business incubator (BI) CEO's on business performance, as well as investigate the moderating effects of BI supporting services. The main objectives of this study are as follows: first, to observe how the entrepreneurship of CEO's affects business performance; second, to observe how CEO's market orientation as a cultural factor attributes to business performance; third, to verify whether the utilization level of BI supporting services shows moderating effects between entrepreneurship and business performance, and finally to verify whether the utilization level of BI supporting services shows moderating effects between market orientation and business performance. Business incubators in Seoul registered with the Business Incubator Association were surveyed both online and offline to receive 127 responses out of 320 circulations. By filtering out insincere reponses, 117 were used for statistical analysis. Our results assert that the utilization level of physical BI supporting services does indeed strengthen the relation between initiative and financial performance. Also, it is interesting to note that the utilization level of physical BI supporting services supports the relation between risk sensitivity and financial performance. While risk sensitivity on its own shows no positive effect on business performance, a suitable utilization level of BI supporting services is likely to strengthen the connection. In addition, the utilization level of both physical and non-physical supporting services shows a moderating effect between initiative and non-financial performance. Based on the results above, risk-taking business incubator CEOs with initiative are likely to yield better financial performance in terms of increasing sales, if provided with various physical supporting services such as sufficient educational facilities including communal spaces and conference rooms.

This study is to identity the relationship between ICT & digital utilization, global orientation and export marketing capability in Korean SMEs. Survey data of Korean SMEs in south regional areas was collected and analyzed for empirical hypothesis test by PLS structural equation method. The key findings are as follows. First, ICT utilization such as SNS, homepage and online portal does not impact directly on export marketing capability. It means that SMEs would not still take advantage of utilization of social network availability. Second, ICT utilization has positive influences on global market orientation and global network orientation. Finally, both global market orientation and network have significant impacts on export marketing capability. • It seems essential to examine the factors that may affect relationship commitment of subcontractors to parent companies in the industrial market in Korea in an effort to construct a win-win-type cooperative network among them. Lots of studies have been focusing on the consumer goods market. Relatively few studies have been focused on industrial market. In the industrial goods market subcontractors used to sell their parts or services only to a small number of parent companies in a large quantity, resulting in decisive control of subcontractors over the quality of parent companies' finished goods. This is why relationship between subcontractors and parent companies is extremely important. From this viewpoint, this study aims to survey and analyze empirically the paths leading to relationship commitment of subcontractors toward the parent companies which are required to incite them to build up a collaborative network by means of subcontractors' entrepreneurship. For this aim, market orientation effects of entrepreneurship as well as factors of performance and trust are particularly set forth as the bases of developing hypotheses in this study in order to explore the paths from entrepreneurship to relationship commitment as follows. First, the path of entrepreneurship-market orientation-communication-trust- relationship commitment; second, the path of entrepreneurship-market orientation-performance-relationship commitment; third, the path of entrepreneurship-market orientation-transaction specific asset investment -trust-relationship commitment; and fourth, the path in which the entrepreneurship is expected to promote direct transaction specific asset investment by parent companies to induce their trust and, eventually, relationship commitment of subcontractors. The outcomes of the empirical analysis in this study may be summed up as follows: First, the conclusions of preceding studies are also supported here by the fact that the entrepreneurship of subcontractors promotes their market orientation (hypothesis 9), indicating that the entrepreneurship can facilitate collection, proliferation of and response to market informations. On the contrary, however, the assumption that the entrepreneurship of subcontractors might directly accelerate transaction specific asset investment by parent companies (hypothesis 8) is rejected. Second, although the influence of subcontractors' entrepreneurship on parent companies' investment of assets peculiar to their transactions is not affirmed, the assumption is found to be supported that subcontractors' market orientation would expedite the parent companies' investment of assets peculiar to their transactions. Moreover, it is also confirmed that parent companies' investment of assets peculiar to transactions would promote subcontractors' trust toward the parent companies (hypothesis 6), signifying that parent companies may level up their trust in subcontractors when they make great amount of efforts to invest in the assets peculiar to transactions, not behaving opportunistically, Third, the hypotheses 4 and 5 also turn out to be supported by the analysis as the former assumes that market orientation could promote communication and the latter relates that the communication between subcontractors and parent companies would prompt trust, both results in affirming that market orientation could introduce open communication to speed up sharing of information and that sharing of information by way of communication might give an impetus to trust. Fourth, the assumption that subcontractors' market orientation would expedite performance (hypothesis 3) is also proved favorably to the significant level equivalent to that of preceding studies. Fifth, same as preceding studies, it is also verified in this study that the benefit (outcomes) awarded by parent companies to subcontractors will be a direct cause exercising a positive impact upon relationship commitment(hypothesis 2) and that the trust of subcontractors toward parent companies may have affirmative influence on the relationship commitment(hypothesis 1). Overall, the first, second and third paths are identified as being supported by the hypotheses among constituent factors, while the fourth path is deemed meaningless since it is shown that the entrepreneurship exercises no effects on parent companies' investment in the assets peculiar to transactions.

  • Successful management of distributors is crucial for the success of multi-level marketing (MLM) because MLM sells products and services through distributor networks. The present study examines the impact of the up-line distributors' transformational leadership on down-line distributors' entrepreneurship, market orientation, and performance. The proposed research questions were examined based on a survey of 135 down-line distributors working at the largest domestic MLM company. A mediation mechanism was found that the up-line distributors' transformational leadership increases the down-line distributors' entrepreneurship and market orientation, which in turn influences their performance. Based on the findings, the present study suggests the importance of transformational leadership in MLM. Practical implications for the roles of transformational leadership and its impact on corporate management in specific business areas are also discussed.

  • In the pursuit of sustained innovation within industries, the consistent emergence of high-growth potential startups is imperative. Despite the government's implementation of diverse investment-based policies aimed at fostering startup initiation, the inherent probability of post-establishment failure for startups remains substantial. This study examines the impact of internal factors on organizational commitment and corporate performance in startups. It emphasizes the significance of learning and networking orientation for commitment across various organizational aspects. Innovativeness affects emotional and normative commitment but not continuance commitment. Financial attributes and global orientation influence continuance commitment, while affective and continuance commitment significantly impact startup performance. Normative cohesion, however, does not significantly affect performance. These findings offer insights for optimizing human resource utilization in startups, benefiting both companies and governments in the evolving startup landscape.
