냉매 R-407c의 수평평골 응축관내 열전달특성에 관한 연구 (Heat transfer characteristics of R - 407C condensing inside smooth horizontal tubes)

  • Experimental results for forced convection heat transfer of pure refrigerant and nonrefrigerant mixtures during condensing inside horizontal smooth tubes, double pipe heat exchanger of 7.5 mm ID and 4 000 mm long inside tube, are presented. Pure refrigerant R - 22 and R - 407 c, the mixture of R - 32 + R - 125 + R - 134a (23/25/52, wt %) are used as the test fluids. The ranges of parameters are $114.3{\sim}267.1 kg/(m^2 {\cdot} s)$ of mass velocity, <0$\sim$1.0 of quality. The vapor pressure, vapor temperature and tube wall temperature were measured. Using these data, the local and average heat transfer coefficients for the condensation are obtained. At the same given experimental conditions, the condensation heat transfer coefficients for NARMs R - 407c were lower than those for the pure refrigerant of R - 22. Local heat transfer characteristics for R - 407c were different from pure refrigerant R - 22. The condensaheat transfer coefficients for R - 407c and R - 22 increased with mass velocity. Based on the data a prediction method was presented for the calculation of dimensionless average heat transfer coefficient.

  • Experimental results for heat transfer characteristic and pressure gradient of HCs refrigerants R-290, R-600a, R-1270 and HCFC refrigerant R-22 during condensing inside horizontal double pipe heat exchangers are presented. The test sections which have one tube diameter of 12.70 mm with 0.86 mm wall thickness, another tube diameter of 9.52 mm with 0.76 mm wall thickness are used for this investigation. The local condensing heat transfer coefficients of hydrocarbon refrigerants were higher than those of R-22. The average condensing heat transfer coefficient increased with the increase of the mass flux. It showed the higher values in hydrocarbon refrigerants than R-22. Hydrocarbon refrigerants have higher pressure drop than those of R-22 in 12.7 mm and 9.52 mm. This results from the investigation can be used in the design of heat transfer exchangers using hydrocarbons as the refrigerant for the air-conditioning systems.

순수냉매의 흐름응축 열전달계수 (Flow Condensation Heat Transfer Coefficients of Pure Refrigerants)

  • Flow Condensation heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of Rl2, R22, R32, Rl23, Rl25, R134a, R142b were measured experimentally on a horizontal plain tube. The experi- mental apparatus was composed of three main parts; a refrigerant loop, a water loop and a water-glycol loop. The test section in a refrigerant loop was made of a copper tube of 8.8 mm inner diameter and 1000 mm length respectively. The refrigerant was cooled by passing cold water through an annulus surrounding the test section. All tests were performed at a filed refrigerant saturation temperature of 4$0^{\circ}C$ with mass fluxes of 100, 200, 300 kg/$m^2$s. The experimental result showed that flow condensation HTCs increase as the quality, mass flux, and latent heat of condensation increase. At the same mass flux, the HTCs of R32 and R142b were higher than those of R22 by 35~45% and 7~14% respectively while HTCs of R134a and Rl23 were similar to those of R22. On the other hand, HTCs of Rl25 and Rl2 were lower than those of R22 by 28 ~30% and 15 ~25% respectively Finally, a new correlation for flow condensation HTCs was developed by modifying Dobson and Chato's correlation with the latent heat of condensation considered. The correlaton showed an average deviation of 13.1% for all pure fluids data indicating an excellent agreement.

The test sections which have one tube diameter of 12.70 mm with 0.89 mm, 9.52 mm with 0.76 mm, 6.35 mm with 0.13 mm wall thickness are used for this investigation, respectively. The local condensing heat transfer coefficients of hydrocarbon refrigerants were higher than those of R-22. The average condensing heat transfer coefficient increased with the increase of the mass flux. It showed the higher values in hydrocarbon refrigerants than R-22. Hydrocarbon refrigerants have higher pressure drop than R-22 in 10.92 mm, 8 mm and 6.1 mm inner diameters. These results from the investigation can be used in the design of heat transfer exchangers using hydrocarbons as the refrigerant for the air-conditioning systems.

  • An experimental study on the condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-22, R-290 and R-600a inside horizontal tube was performed. Heat transfer measurements were performed for smooth tube with inside diameter of 10.07 mm and outside diameter of 12.07 mm and inner grooved tube having 75 fins whose height is 0.25 mm. This study was performed for condensation temperatures were from 308 K to 323 K, and mass velocity of $51 kg/m^2s - 250kg/m^2s$. The test results showed that the local condensation heat transfer coefficients increased as the mass flux increased, and also the effect of mass flow rate on heat transfer coefficients of R-290 was less than R-22. In addition, heat transfer coefficient of R-22 increased to a larger extent than R-290 and R-600a as the mass flow rate increased. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients of natural refrigerants were superior to that of R-22. The present results had a good agreement with Cavallini-Zecchin's correlation for smooth and inner grooved tubes.

가연성 냉매의 외부 응축 열전달에 관한 연구 (A Study of External Condensation Heat Transfer of Flammable Refrigerants)

  • In this study, external condensation heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of flammable refrigerants of propylene, propane, isobutane, butane, DME, and HFC32 were measured on a horizontal plain tube, 26 fpi low fin tube, and Turbo-C tube. All data were taken at the temperature of 39$^{\circ}C$ with a wall subcooling of 3∼8$^{\circ}C$. Test results showed a typical trend that condensation HTCs of flammable refrigerants decrease with increasing wall subcooling. HFC32 had the highest HTCs among the tested refrigerants showing 44% higher HTCs than those of HCFC22 while DME showed 28% higher HTCs than those of HCFC22. HTCs of propylene and butane were similar to those of HCFC22 while those of propane and isobutane were similar to those of HFC134a. Based upon the tested data, Nusselt's equation is modified to predict the plain tube data within a deviation of 3%. For 26 fpi low fin tube, Beatty and Katz equation predicted the data within a deviation of 7.3% for all flammable refrigerants tested. The heat transfer enhancement factors for the 26 fpi low fin and Turbo-C tubes were 4.6∼5.7 and 4.7∼6.9 respectively for the refrigerants tested indicating that the performance of Turbo-C tube is the best among the tubes tested.

Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Hydrocarbon Refrigerants R-290 and R-600a in the Horizontal Tubes

  • This paper presents the experimental results of evaporation heat transfer coefficients of HC refrigerants (e.g. R290 and R600a). R-22 as a HCFCs refrigerant and R-l34a as a HFCs refrigerant in horizontal double pipe heat exchangers, having four different inner diameters of 10.07, 7.73, 6.54 and 5.80 mm respectively. The experiments of the evaporation process were conducted at mass flux of $35.5{\sim}210.4 kg/m^2s$ and cooling capacity of $0.95{\sim}10.1 kW$. The main results were summarized as follows : The average evaporation heat transfer coefficient of hydrocarbon refrigerants(R-290 and R-600a) was higher than the refrigerants, R-22 and R-l34a. In comparison with R-22 the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of R-l34a is approximately $-11{\sim}8.1 %$ higher. R-290 is $56.7{\sim}70.1 %$ higher and R-600a is $46.9{\sim}59.7 %$ higher. respectively. In comparison with experimental data and some correlations, the evaporation heat transfer coefficients are well predicted with the Kandlikar's correlation regardless of a type of refrigerants and tube diameters.

  • In this paper, evaporating heat transfer characteristics in the refrigeration and air-conditioning facilities were studied using the environmentally friendly refrigerants R-1270 (Propylene). R-290 (Propane). R-600a (Iso-butane) and HCFC refrigerant R-22 The test tube was surrounded by an annulus with water flowing counter to the refrigerant. The tube is copper. with an outside diameter of 12.7mm and the wall thickness of 1.315mm. The test results showed that the local evaporating heat transfer coefficients of hydrocarbon refrigerants were superior to that of R-22 and the maximum increasing rate of heat transfer coefficient was found in R-1270. The average evaporating heat transfer coefficient increased with the increase of the mass velocity and it showed the higher values in hydrocarbon refrigerants than R-22 Comparing the heat transfer coefficient of experimental results with that of other correlations. the presented results had agood agreement with the Kandlikar's correlation. This results form the investigation can be used in the design of heat transfer exchangers using hydrocarbons as the refrigerant for the air-conditioning systems.

  • The present study investigated the two-phase flow characteristics of refrigerant R-22 in T-branch with horizontal and vertical inlet tube The key experimental parameters were the orientation of inlet and branch tubes (horizontal and vertical), diameter ratio of branch tube to inlet tube (1 and 0.61), inlet mass flux (200~500 kg/$m^2$s) and inlet quality (0.1~0.4). Predicted pressure profile agreed with the measured data within 25.4%. The flow distribution ratio decreased as the mass flux increased. The flow distribution ratio decreased by 12~25% as the tube diameter ratio decreased from 1 to 0.61, and decreased by 38~47% as the orientation of branch changed from horizontal to vertical upward for horizontal inlet tubes. As the orientation of inlet tube changed from horizontal to vertical upward for horizontal branch, the flow distribution ratio increased by 15~68%, but the quality in the branch tube decreased by 28~92% due to phase separation.

R22/R142b 혼합냉매를 사용한 열펌프의 성능 (Experimental Study on the Performance of Heat Pump Using Refrigerant Mixture R22/R142b)

  • Experimental investigation on the performance of a heat pump system using refrigerant mixtures is done. The condenser and the evaporator are double pipe heat exchangers of counter flow type and the compressor is driven by a variable speed motor. The refrigerant mixture used in the experiment is R22/R142b. Experiments are performed by changing the compressor speed, composition on ratio of mixture, and the average temperatures of condenser and evaporator. The compressor work, heating capacity and the coefficient of performance are calculated. Results show that the heating capacity can be changed by varying the mass flow rate of refrigerant mixtures to meet the heating load. It is shown that the capacity control by changing the composition ratio is more effective than by changing the compressor speed. Under the condition where the external conditions are fixed and the heating loads are equal, the coefficient of performance has its maximum value near 50 : 50 mass fraction of the refrigerant mixture in this study.
