An Experimental Study of Evaporative Heat Exchangers with Mini-channels (물의 증발잠열을 이용하는 미니채널 열교환기의 실험적 연구)

  • The present study shows some results of developing evaporative heat exchangers with mini-channels. Heat exchangers with three different water paths were manufactured and tested to compare performances of cooling and pressure drop. Among the three types of heat exchangers, Type 2 with full-etching was proved to be the best in the cooling performances for considered operating conditions, and thus it is recommended to adopt Type 2 for its simplicity of production and outstanding performance. However, Type 1 was shown to be better when it is operated at a high air inlet temperature condition. The developed evaporative heat exchanger will be installed in Environmental Control Systems(ECSs) for aerial vehicles, and it can be used effectively in case an ECS is not only limited in its weight and volume but also required to absorb heats without supplying water (or a coolant) for a certain period of time.

  • Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger (BPHE) is a type of compact plate heat exchanger with parallel corrugated plates which are brazed together in series. Each plate hascorrugation called herringbone pattern. Inside a BPHE, hot fluid and cold fluid alternate its flow direction to establish counter current flow configuration. Two-phase flow heat transfer and pressure drop of R-22 in BPHE were experimentally measured in this study. In the present experiments, single-phase region and two-phase region coexist in a BPHE. Therefore, the inside of a BPHE have to be divided into single phase region and two phase region and analyzed accordingly. The results from the single phase flow analysis are then extended to the two phase flow analysis to correlate the condensation and evaporation heat transfer and pressure drop for the refrigerant R-22 in the BPHEs. Previous models for two- phase friction factor have been compared with the present experimental results.

  • The plate heat exchanger is characterized. by low pressure drop and high heat transfer coefficient. The experimental study has been performed on the condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the plate heat exchangers in this study. In the present study, a brazed type plate heat exchanger was investigated at a chevron angle of $45^{\circ},\;55^{\circ},\;and\;70^{\circ}$ with R410A. Condensation temperatures were varied from $20^{\circ}C\;and\;30^{\circ}C$, and mass flux was ranged from $13{\sim}34\;kg/m^{2}s$ with constant heat flux ($=5\;kw/m^{2}$). The heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop increased with the chevron angle. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops are decreased with increasing condensation tempeature.

  • 현대의 지속적인 기술개발과 산업발전은 삶의 질을 향상시키는 긍정적인 시각이 있는 반면 심각한 환경문제를 안고 있다. 자동차 공조기술도 지구 환경보호라는 거대한 과제와 탑승자의 쾌적성 만족이라는 두 가지 다른 관점을 동시에 충족시켜야 하는 과제를 가지고 있으며, 이 분야 산업에 전문적인 지식으로 공조 열량계 운용에 대한 경험이 대학 교육과정에서도 강조되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 대학 교육과정 특성상 장비의 활용성, 경제성, 장비설치 및 취급의 용이성 등을 고려하여 교육용으로 적합한 간이 열량계를 제작하였다. 교육 및 연구용으로 제작한 간이 열량계의 타당성을 확인하기위해 현재 가장 많이 쓰이고 있는 R134a 자동차용 냉방시스템을 구성하여 압축기 회전속도, 실내 풍량, 냉매 충전량 등을 변수로 하여 열교환기 냉방성능을 평가한 후 비교하여 교육용 열량계의 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • The air and refrigerant side heat transfer performances are key parameters to improve heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger including the fan performance. Design of the fins, treatment of the tube inside, tube diameter and tube array effect heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is used as a condenser at cooling mode and used as an evaporator at heating mode in the heat pump system. The heat pump system uses R410A as the refrigerant. The heat exchangers are consisted with 7 mm diameter tubes with slit-type fins. The study was conducted with variation of arrangement of the refrigerant path and air flow rate and refrigerant pressure drop and heat transfer rate were measured with a code tester. The capacity of the 3 path heat exchanger is more efficient than 2 or 4 path heat exchangers in heating or cooling modes.

  • 현재 배전용변전소 대용량변압기 냉각방식은 주로 유입자냉식, 유입풍냉식, 송유풍냉식 및 수냉각 방식이 채용되고 있다. 유입풍냉식의 경우는 대기 공기의 자연대류 또는 냉각팬에 의한 강제대류에 의해 방열기 내부로 유입된 절연유의 온도를 낮추는 방식이고 송유풍냉식은 변압기 내부 절연유를 강제순환 시키면서 냉각팬을 가동하는 방식이다. 도심지 복합건물내 주변압기 냉각은 수냉식을 채용하여 절연유를 강제로 순환시키면서 열교환기 2차측에 냉각수를 순환시켜 열교환기 내로 유입된 절연유의 온도를 낮추는 방식이다. 그러나 도심지 변전소의 냉각방식 채택에 있어 냉각성능, 소음, 설비의 건전성등 여러 가지 문제점이 드러나 새롭고 획기적인 냉각방식이 요구되고 있다.

  • The experimental study has been conducted on heat transfer characteristics of the plate heat exchangers(PHE) by several researchers. However most of all were focused on a gasket-type plate heat exchanger. Therefore further studies are need for a brazed-type. In the present study, a brazed type plate heat exchanger was tested at a chevron angle of $70^{\circ},\;55^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ with R-22 and R-410A. Condensation temperatures were $24.5^{\circ}C$, and mass flux was ranged from 35 to $60kg/m^2s$. The inlet and exit conditions are in a superheated vapor and subcooled liquid, respectively. The heat transfer coefficient increased with the chevron angle. The heat transfer coefficient of R-22 was lamer than that of R-410A for all chevron angles.

  • An experimental study on the performance evaluation of a brazed plate heat exchanger with 10USRT of normal cooling capacity has been carried out. In the present study, a brazed plate heat exchanger was tested at a chevron angle $25^{\circ}$with refrigerant R-22. Refrigerant mass flux was ranged from 23 to 58 kg/$m^2$s in condensation, and from 22 to 53 kg/$m^2$s in evaporation. The heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops are increased as the mass flux increases. The water side pressure drop is increased as the cooling water flow rate and chilled water flow rate increase, while mass flux has little effect. It is also shown that the system performance can be improved by enlarging condensation heat transfer area.

  • 동관은 열전달성, 내식성, 가공성이 우수하여 각종 열교환기용 열전달관으로 각각의 열전달특성요구에 맞게 가공되어 사용되고 있다. 최근 제품가격의 하락에 따라 열전달특성 개선 뿐만아니라 코스트다운에 대한 요구도 커지고, 또 냉매도 HFC계로 변화하고 있어 새로운 관점에서 열전달관개발을 하여야 한다. 일본의 Kobe제강소는 1917년부터 동관을 제조하기 시작하여, 일본 국내는 물론 미국과 아시아 지역에서 높은 보급률을 가지고 있다. 특히 냉동공조용 열전달관 부분에 강한 면모를 보이고 있다. 여기서는 최근 개발된 열전달관에 관하여 그 개발 경위와 열전달특성에 관하여 소개하고자 한다.
