  • This paper proposes the thermal characteristics of motor integrated spindle on high precision lathe and investigates the thermal deformation and the running error of spindle. The deformation and the running error of spindle shaft are continuously measured by the gapsensor mounted on machine. The temperature distribution is measured bythe thermal vision system and the thermocouple. The results show that the running error of spindle is dependent on the rotational speed and the thermal deformation.

  • Cooling characteristics of cooling jacket for spindle system with built-in motor are studied. Three dimensional model was selected for the analysis of the helical-type cooling jacket. This model includes the estimation on the amount of heat generation from bearing and built-in motor and the thermal characteristic values such as heat flux on the boundary. The temperature distributions are analyzed and the cooling by Nusselt number and total heat transfer coefficient. Numerical results show that stream-wise cross section area and flow rate are important factors for cooling characteristics of cooling jacket.

  • In this paper, fuzzy logic based active ventilation system with security function is proposed and implemented. We can easily experience the situation that inner air is so hot to get start immediately after parking at summer day. Hot temperature is enough to explode a gas lighter or to suffocate a little chid. Proposed system has 1 blower and 2 axial fans to ventilate inner air. Based on the fuzzy logic, speed and direction of each fan are controlled. In addition to controlling fans, controller put down windows and adjust the periods of open time. In order to prevent the theft and security problems, IR sensors are used to detect objects. On detecting objects, controller put up windows. Experimental result shows that implemented system can be effectively ventilate inner air and reduce temperature. Proposed system can be applicable to commercial automobiles.

  • We have implemented image monitoring system on PXA255 processor based embedded board that is ported QT/Embedded 2.3.7 version. User is able to monitor camera's capture image for widely separated host PC at client PXA255 board target board by ethernet communication method. And we designed PCI interface card that control motor for camera's Pan & Tilt. Bitmap format's images of $320\times{240}$ size are displayed on PXA255 board's TFT-LCD and User is able to monitor wanted position's image by touch screen input method.

  • The important problem in the high speed spindles is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by the motor and ball bearings. Thermal characteristics according to the bearing preload and hollow shaft cooling are studied for the spindle with the oil mist lubrication and high frequency motor. Temperature distribution and thermal deformation according to the spindle speed, preload and flow rate are measured by thermocouple and gap sensor. Temperature distribution and thermal deformation are analyzed by using the finite element method. The results of analysis are compared with the measured data. This paper show that the suitable preload and hollow shaft cooling are very effective to minimize the thermal effect by the motor and ball bearings. This study indicates that temperature distribution and thermal deformation of the high speed spindle system can be estimated reasonably by using the three dimensional model through the finite element method and supports thermal optimization and more effective cooling method.

  • Use of the high frequency motor spindles are increasing for the high speed machine tools recently. The important problem in the high speed spindles is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by the motor and ball hearings. Thermal characteristics according to the bearing preload and spindle cooling are studied for the spindle with the oil mist lubrication and high frequency motor.   • Unsteady-state temperature distributions for spindle system with built-in motor according to spindle type are studied. For the analysis, three dimensional model is built considering heat transfer characteristics such as natural and forced convection coefficients.   • The heat generation is the most important problem in the motor integrated spindle. Double cooling jacket in necessary to reduce the thermal displacement and to get the stable temperature disribution for the housing. In this study, the effects of temperature distribution and thermal displacement for the spindle system according to the variation of cooling oil flow rate are investigated experimentally on the motor-integrated spindle with double cooling jacket system. The experimental spindel system is composed with the angular contact steel ball bearings, oil-air lubrication, air or oil jacket cooling system.

  • 본 연구에서는 위에서 언급한바와 같은 제반사항들에 대해 이론적인 해석을 행하고, 그 결과를 이용하여 설계된 모델이 생체내에 이식될 수 있는 가능성의 여부를 판단하며 생체내에 이식 되었을 때의 성능과 생체에 미치는 영향등을 예측하고자 한다.

  • 최근의 선박 추진시스템은 기존의 엔진, 터빈 둥의 구동 원에서 선박의 발전기로부터 선체 외부의 프로펠러와 일체형으로 구성된 모터를 구동하여 추진하는 전기추진식으로 변화되고 있다. 특히, 히토류계 영구자석재질의 발달로 인하여 대형선박의 추진을 위한 대용량 자석계자형 BLDC와 영구자석형 동기전동기의 설계 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 여전히 MW급 대용량 BLDC 추진전동기의 설계 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 5MW급 대용량 BLDC 추진전동기 설계 연구를 진행하였으며, 그 결과 슬롯 수에 의한 고정자 형상이 다른 3가지 타입의 인버터 내장형 MW급 모델을 설계하였다. 그리고 이들 모델들을 정자계 유한요소법을 이용하여 해석함으로써 고정자 형상에 따른 회전특성을 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 본 설계 조건에 적합한 고정자 형상 설계 방향을 제시하였다.
