The purpose of the research is to explore the main cause and effect of successful marriage that Korean husbands, who are multicultural families had. To do the research, the experiment has been done with 7 husbands for 2 months. The 7 husbands took depths interview and analyzed the result by grounded theory approach. As a result, the husband experienced 'repentance of marriage' because of 'unready marriage', but 'Raising children', 'Helping housework' and 'recognition from friends and colleague' have affected the husbands to have a successful marriage adaptation. Based on the result, a political and practical proposal has been proposed to the Korean husbands who are multi-cultural family. Here are the examples of the proposal. As a social welfare policy, 'obligation of information offering for prospective spouse', 'following the Labor Standards and parental leave', 'expansion of visiting supervise system' and 'making guidance for husbands and distribute map of Immigration Office, Multicultural Family Support Center and Community Center' have proposed. And as an alternative plan for a practical social welfare policy and continuous social awareness improvement, 'various education program', 'a program with domestic married couple', 'a program with parents-in-law', 'a specific program to increase the housework participation for husbands' and necessity of development and practice of group program for husband have been emphasized.

The purpose of this study is to identify the moderating effect of each of the three stress response (problem-centered treatment, pursuit of social support, and positive thinking) in the effect of work-family conflict between dual-earner couples on marriage satisfaction. To this end, 369 married couples (369 wives, 369 husbands) who raise children under the age of 6 were surveyed on stress coping (problem-centered, social support, and positive thinking), work-family conflicts, and marriage satisfaction. Based on the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM), the collected data verified six research models by distinguishing the moderating effects of each of the three coping strategies from the direction of Work to Family conflict and Family to Work conflict. Interaction graphs were also presented to determine the pattern of significant buffering effects. As a result, first of all, the problem-oriented strategy of the wife buffer the negative impact of the husband's WFC on the husband's own and wife's marriage satisfaction. It was also found that problem-oriented strategy that husband himself uses to buffer the negative impact of the husband's FWC on his wife's marriage satisfaction. Second, the pursuit of social support confirmed that the negative effects of the husband's WFC on the husband's marriage satisfaction were mitigated by the pursuit of social support used by his wife. Third, in the case of positive thinking, the effect of the positive thinking on the husband's WFC on the marriage satisfaction of the husband and wife was shown, and the positive response effect of the wife's FWC conflict was also shown. Finally, based on the results of this study, the discussion and implications of the study were presented.

"지금도 해외 여행 중이신 것 같아요. 세상을 떠나셨다는 생각이 전혀 들지 않습니다." 삼흥문화인쇄사 고이평재사장의 미망인 박순자여사. 박여사는 지금도 남편이 공항에서 서울에 도착했다고 전화를 할 것 같다며 전화기를 슬쩍 바라본다. 그러면서도 남편이 세운 회사를 살려야 한다는 의지의 눈빛이 과거와는 사뭇 다르게 보인다. 기자가 불쑥 찾아가자 조금은 당황스러워 하면서도 사업가로 변신할 수 밖에 없었던 심정을 담담하게 이야기 할 정도로 외견상으로는 안정된 모습을 보인다. 남편의 갑작스런 사망으로 삼흥문화인쇄사 대표에 취임한 박여사는 지금은 '박순자사장'이라는 호칭이 어울릴 정도로 인쇄사업가로 변신해 가고 있으며 인쇄여성경제인협회 회원으로 활동하는 등 삼흥문화인쇄사를 지키는데 혼신을 다하고 있다.

본 연구는 부부의 감정적 자기노출 정도를 알아보고 그 유형을 분류한 뒤 관계되는 변인을 밝힘으로써 부부간의 감정적 자기노출에 관한 이해를 명확히 하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 248쌍의 부부를 대상으로 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 부부의 감정적 자기노출 정도는 부인이 남편보다 높은것으로 나타났다. 2) 부부의 감정적 자기노출에 가장 영향을 미치는 변인은 긍정적 노출의 경우는 심리적 변인이었으며 부정적 노출의 경우는 가정환경적 변인으로 나타났다. 3) 남편과 부인의 감정적 자기노출유형은 남편의 경우는 완전폐쇄형(43.3%), 부인의 경우는 완전노출형(48.2%)이 가장 많았으며, 부부간의 감정적 자기노출유형은 긍정적 자기노출에서는 상호노출형(43.7%), 부정적 자기노출에서는 상호폐쇄형 (38.4%)이 가장 많은것으로 나타났다. 4) 감정적 자기노출유형을 판별하는 가장 강력한 변인은 남편의 경우는 남성성, 부인의 경우는 자아개념으로 나타났다.

This study examined the interdependent retirement decision between husbands and wives. Since most of retirees in Korea retired by involuntary reasons such as health problems, it purposes to test whether the involuntary retirement of husbands(wives) influences the retirement decision of wives(husbands). Using data from 4th Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing Panel, it conducted probit and multivariate probit analysis on 1,038 dual-earner couples aged 51~76 to test interdependence of couples' retirement. The results showed that husbands who have retired wife were more likely to retire. It also proved that involuntary retirement of spouse is a significant predictor of early retirement decision, though the direction of the effect is reversed by gender. Wives were more likely to retire when husband were retired involuntarily, while husbands were more likely to stay in labor market. These findings helped to understand the retirement decision of aged couples in Korea and brought suggestion on labor market and care policies for aged couples.

This study aims to investigate the effect of husbands' emotional abuse on wives' depression and mediating effects of marital adjustment and coping. The subject of this study is wives of men who had completed batterer intervention programs at domestic violence counselling centers. In order to investigate the effect of emotional abuse, among the 116 questionnaires collected by wives the cases in which physical violence was reported were excluded. Ultimately, a total of 77 cases were analyzed using the Partial Least Square method of structural equation model methodology. The key findings from this study are as follows. First, the wives in this study showed a high rate of exposure to emotional abuse by their husbands although the physical violence was gone. Second, emotional abuse by husbands significantly affected depression on their wives. Third, marital adjustment was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between the emotional abuse and the depression. Fourth, a mediating effect from passive coping was revealed; in particular, avoiding was the most powerful factor explaining the relationship between the emotional abuse and the depression. However, active coping failed to mediate the relationship between the emotional abuse and the depression.

The prolongation of life expectancy has expanded the duration of marriage in old age. In the meanwhile, the change of life style emphasizing privacy and sociodemographic environment favoring independent living has increased the number and proportion of the elderly living with spouse only. This study, focusing on those aged 60 and over who live with spouse only the elderly, explores their marital relationship. The study pays a special attention to compare whether and how the satisfaction on the relationship with spouse would differ between husband and wife. The ordered logit model analysis is conducted based on the nationwide survey '2008 Korean National Survey of Welfare Need in the Elderly'. The results show that the marital relationship satisfaction of husbands is influenced by their own characteristics but hardly affected by his wife's. In contrast, the satisfaction of wife is influenced by husband's characteristics as well as hers. These finding reflect that women are more strongly family-centered and dependent on their husband.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of husbands' help on postpartum depression and self-efficacy of mothers, to investigate what to fix of research design and to examine the feasibility of following experimental study. There was no significant difference in the general characteristics of two groups, which consisted 10 pairs of postpartum mothers and husbands, respectively, confirming the homogeneity of between groups. The prevalence of postpartum depression was 45% in the subjects who were measured at 1 week postpartum, and the average performance of the husbands' help in the experimental group was 3.2 out of 4 points. In the Mann-Whitney U Test, the husbands' help lowered the mean rank of postpartum depression in the experimental group(p<.001), and the mean rank of self-efficacy was higher than the control group, but there was no significant difference. In the process of this study, it was confirmed that, on the side of postpartum mothers of control group had burdens of responding to the questionnaire without the benefit of treatment so it is necessary to revise the design of following experimental study.

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of democratic patenting behavior of father in the relations of work-family conflict, marital satisfaction and depression of working mother who has child in 1st grade in elementary school. This study used data from 2015 Panel Study on Korean Children. The subjects are 610 working mothers and their spouses who completed the survey included the scales of work-family conflicts, democratic parenting behavior, marital satisfaction, and depression. The main results are followed. First, marital satisfaction of mother mediated the relationship between work-family conflict and depression. Second, the interaction of work-family conflict of mother and democratic parenting behavior of father had an effect on marital satisfaction of mother. Third, the moderated mediation effect of democratic parenting behavior of father on the association between work-life conflict, marital satisfaction and depression of mother. These findings suggested democratic parenting behavior of father as protective factor concerning in work-family conflict of working mother. These findings suggest that enhancing marital satisfaction and quality of parenting of father are important to protect depression of working mother who experienced the work-family conflict.

This paper analyzes the changing factors of income inequality by approaches to income sources focusing on the effect of husband-wife labor income relation and employment ratio change on income inequality. The level of contribution of income source to income inequality showed that the inequality of labor income between husband and wife(especially the husband's income) takes great importance. Also, the covariance of labor income of husband and wife showed growing trend and changed toward the same direction. As a result of the decomposition of the labor income covariance, it was found that the change in husband-wife employment ratio explained the covariance change better than the change in labor income inequality.
