  • Statistical methods have been widely used to estimate the remaining battery runtime of mobile smart devices, such as smart phones, smart gears, tablets, and etc. However, existing work available in the literature only considers a particular statistical method. Thus, it is difficult to determine whether statistical methods are applicable to estimating thr remaining battery runtime of mobile devices or not. In this paper, we evaluated the performance of statistical methods applicable to estimating the remaining battery runtime of mobile smart devices. The statistical estimation methods evaluated in this paper are as follows: simple and moving average, linear regression, multivariate adaptive regression splines, auto regressive, polynomial curve fitting, and double and triple exponential smoothing methods. Research results presented in this paper give valuable data of insight to IT engineers who are willing to deploy statistical methods on estimating the remaining battery runtime of mobile smart devices.

  • Using Seoul Welfare Panel Study, this research examines regional differentials in income and asset between Gangnam households and Non-Gangnam households in Seoul. Applying the Oaxaca decomposition method, it also decomposes factors associated with the differentials into explained and unexplained components. Results show that average monthly income is about 4 million won for Gangnam households and 3.2 million won for Non-Gangnam households. The explained component accounts for most of the income differential, which mainly originates from differences in the distributions of individual and household characteristics associated with the monthly income. The net asset differential between the two regions is much greater than the income differential. The net asset is about 460 million won for Gangnam households and approximately 280 million won for Non-Gangnam households. Most of the net asset differential is remained unexplained after controlling for covariates which measure demographic characteristics of householders and various features of labor market in which household members are employeed. It implies that other factors such as inter-generational transfers of wealth may play a significant role in creating the net asset differential.

  • It is almost impossible to keep the exact documentations of veterans' works due to the fastidious and convoluted nature of this particular field. The histrorical recordings of Korean Theater in general has been improved due to growing educations of staffs and actors through theatre associated universities But the need of preserving the recordings of veteran actors has not been recognized enough, therefore their precious assets has been lost, which is such a regretful truth. However, with the necessity in mind, the following study is focused on Gil-ho Kim, an actor, playwright, director, and his works on 'Namdo-Mokpo-Plays'. Comparisons will be made, focusing on these plays, between his life as an actor and the meaning of documenting a veteran actor's assets.

  • For 4 years (2000 ${\sim}$ 2003), annual fluctuations of standing crops of cyanobacteria and physicochemical factors were examined at five sites from Bridge of Seungsoo to Bridge of Seungsan in the lower part of Han River. The cyanobacterial abundance (ND to 4,167 cells $mL^{-1}$) was strongly decreased during the heavy rains in every year. During the similar periods in 2003, cyanobacteria hardly observed, and comprised below of 10 percentage of total phytoplankton. In the period of little cyanobacteria, some green algae and diatom dominated the phytoplankton community, while the concentration of chlorophyll a has not largely change. These results indicate that heavy frequent precipitation strongly limited the growth of cyanobacteria, and lead an algal succession by the appearance of new algal groups.

  • A new standard pink rose cultivar 'Noble Eye' was bred from the cross between pink standard cultivar 'Noblesse' and pink standard cultivar 'Pretty Woman' at the Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services (JARES). The cross was made in 2003 and, 'Noble Eye' was finally selected in 2009 after investigating characteristics for three times from 2006 to 2009. 'Noble Eye' a pink standard cultivar has good flower shape with few prickles. The major characteristics of this cultivar was $125.7stems/m^2/year$ in yield. 69.8 cm in length of cut flower, 6.6 cm in flower diameter, 40.5 in petal number, and 9.4 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar was relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Noblesse'.
