Aerodynamic and Structural Design for Medium Size Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine Rotor Blade with Composite Material (복합재를 이용한 수평축 풍력터빈 회전 날개의 공력 및 구조설계에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays, non-pollution energy sources have been strongly needed because of the exhaustion of fossil fuels and serious environmental problems. Because wind energy can be enormously obtained from natural atmosphere, this type of energy has lots of advantages in a economic and pollution point of view. This study has established the aerodynamic and structural design procedure of the rotor blade with an appropriate aerodynamic performance and structural strength for the 500㎾ medium class wind turbine system. The aerodynamic configuration of the rotor blade was determined by considering the wind condition in the typical local operation region, and based on this configuration aerodynamic performance analysis was performed. The rotor blade has the shell-spar structure based on glass/epoxy composite material and is composed of shank including metal joint parts and blade. Structural design was done by the developed design program in this study and structural analysis, for instance stress analysis, mode analysis and fatigue life estimation, was performed by the finite element method. As a result, a medium scale wind turbine rotor blade with starting characteristics of 4m/s wind speed, rated power of 500㎾ at 12m/s wind speed and over 20 years fatigue life has been designed.

  • 고대로부터 이용되어온 풍력에너지는 특히 풍황이 양호한 서유럽을 중심으로 꾸준히 개발되어 왔다. 최근 세계 여러 나라에서는 화석에너지의 고갈과 심각한 환경오염 문제 등으로 인하여 청정에너지의 개발에 많은 투자를 하고있으며 이에 따라 우리 나라에서도 풍력발전기의 개발이 진행되고 있다. 풍력에너지의 효율적인 이용을 위해서 여러 가지 형태의 발전시스템이 시도되어 왔으나 최근에는 성능 및 효율성이 우수하고 일정 출력을 낼 수 있도록 깃 각 조정이 가능한 수평축 풍력발전시스템이 주로 사용되고 있으며 대형화함으로서 대두되는 경량화 문제를 해결하기 위해 복합재를 이용한 회전날개를 개발하여 이를 사용하고 있다.

  • 본 연구에서는 풍력발전기용 복합재 회전날개의 설계단계에서 공력 설계 후 결정되어진 공력 형상을 기초로 하여 구조적 형상설계를 수행 할 때에 여러 가지 경우의 형상을 해석하여 이중 설계요구조건에 적합한 경우를 채택하는 시행착오 방법으로 인한 비효율적인 요소를 배재 하기 위해 고전 적층판 이론을 기초로 한 해석 프로그램을 사용하여 예비설계를 수행하는 수정된 설계절차를 제안하였으며 예비설계단계에서 신속하고 신뢰성 있는 해석결과를 얻을 수 있었다.(중략)

  • A study on the test, design and fabrication of wind tunnel model for measurement of air load distribution on wing surfaces is presented. 447 pressure taps are installed normal to the wing surfaces, and measured by PSI-8400 system using total 8 ESPs modules installed in the model. The test was performed at 50 m/sec constant speed in the low speed wind tunnel of Agency for Defense Development. Tests were carried out to determine effects of angle of attack, angle of sideslip and flap and stores for the load distribution of wing. The test results in this paper can be applied to the design optimization of structure and validation of computational fluid dynamics.

Effect of Centerbody on the Vortex Flow of a LEX-Delta Wing Configuration (중앙동체가 LEX-삼각날개 형상의 와류에 미치는 영향)

  • An experimental study of the vortical flow over a yawed delta wing with leading edge extension(LEX) was conducted to investigate the effects of the existence of a centerbody configuration on the flow characteristics of the wing and LEX vortices using off-surface visualization and PIV measurements. The qualitative investigation using these two techniques indicated that the effect of the centerbody existence on the vortex formation was minimal at somewhat low range of angles of attack and sideslip angles. However, the quantitative analysis of the surface pressure measurements revealed the effect of centerbody existence to be prominently increased for the cases with higher angles of attack and sideslip angles. It was also found that the centerbody effect was not significant compared to the effect of sideslip for the present LEX-delta wing configuration.

  • This paper analyzes actuator characteristics for main wing and tail surfaces of an ornithopter by using a motion capture test. Experiments with the ornithopter are conducted indoor, and its fuselage is held on a jig to reduce interaction with vibration generated by flapping motion. The motion capture system detects the movement of markers attached on the main wing and tail wing tip. Experimental results show that the main wings tend to change its amplitude according to the flapping frequency, and the lift and thrust generation simulation is implemented by applying the experimental results and the ornithopter specification to Modified Strip Theory. Step input excitation is applied for experimental analysis of the tail wing in horizontal and vertical directions. As a result, horizontal and vertical tail wings have different characteristics in terms of overshoot, final value, damping ratio and natural frequency because they have different wing structures and linkages.

Visualization Study of High-Incidence Vortical Flow over the LEX/Delta Wing Configuration with Sideslip (옆미끄럼을 갖는 LEX/삼각 날개 형상에 대한 높은 받음각 와유동의 가시화 연구)

  • An off-surface flow visualization experiments have been performed to investigate the flow field over a delta wing with the leading edge extension(LEX). The model is a flat wing with $65^{\circ}$ sweepback angle. The free stream velocity is 6.2 m/s, which corresponds to Reynolds number of $4.4\times10^5$ based on the wing root chord. The angle of attack and sideslip angle range from $16^{\circ}\sim28^{\circ}$ and $0^{\circ}\sim-15^{\circ}$, respectively. The visualization technique of using the micro water-droplet and the laser beam sheet enabled to observe the vortical flow structures, which can not be obtained by 5-hole probe measurements. With sideslip angle, the interaction and breakdown of the LEX and wing vortices was promoted in the windward side, whereas, it was suppressed in the leeward side.

The Noise Radiation Characteristics of Axial Fan by Experimental Method (실험적 방법에 의한 축류형 팬의 소음 방사 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 팬의 익면 통과 주파수 소음은 총괄 소음 스펙트럼중에서 가장 명백한 성분이다. 그 소리는 일 반적으로 가장 불쾌한 성분이므로 저감이 요구된다. 따라서 그 소음치를 저감시키기 위해서는 정확한 축류형 팬의 소음원과 소음 방사 특성 규명이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 푹류형 팬의 소음원과 소음 방 사 특성을 정의하였다. 음압 및 음향인텐시티를 이용한 음원 해석에서, 광센서를 이용한 축류형 팬의 동 기화가 수행되었고, 팬 날개에서의정확한 소음원의 위치를 결정하기 위해 Recording time의 결정이 제 안되었다. 팬 회전시, 소음원의 위치는 각 날개의 후단과 그 다음 날개의 선단사이에 각각 존재한다. 지 향성을 통하여 축류형 팬의 소음 방사 형태를 결정하였고, 벡터 에너지 흐름도로 음의 흐름을 가시화하 였다. 팬 익면에서의 회전 진동특성을 스트레인 게이지에 의하여 규명하였고, 또한 구조진동음의 음으로 의 기여도를 측정하였다. 또한 압전필름에 의한 팬 익면에서의 정압측정 가능성이 제시되었다.
