Study on the characteristics of discharges caused by defects at cable joints under the accesslated aging test (접속재 결함의 가속열화에 따른 방전특성 연구)

  • The trend of partial discharges(PD) magnitude which occured in a artificial void at cable joint is investigated as the function of a time. The results have shown that more than 500pC could be sustained for the considerable duration so the efficiency of monitoring a PD magnitude for diagnosing cable joints is confirmed. The other defects at cable joints are now under the same test, we can get the experimental data sooner or later.

  • The 2-dimensional unsteady flows on and around the cambered airfoils were computed by applying LES with the deductive dynamic SGS model. The unsteady flow field were used as inputs to compute the far-field sounds and directivity patterns from rotating blades by a hybrid approach that exploits Farassat's formula. The BEM (Boundary Element Method) was applied to predict the frequency characteristics from the rotating blades for the cases of even- and uneven-pitched fans. The BEM results suggested that the unevenly pitched fan have less pronounced discrete peaks at BEF frequencies, which was confirmed by the experiment.

  • Intelligent distribution equipment is inevitable to realize self-healing which is one of smart grid functions in distribution network. Therefore, most of distribution equipment have been developed with self diagnostic sensors. However, it is not effective to construct on-line monitoring system for underground distribution cable because of high cost and low sensitivity. Recently, optical fiber composite cable is being considered for communication and power delivery in order to cope with increasing communication in distribution network. This paper presents the design and performance assessment results of underground cable on-line monitoring system using DTS(Distributed Temperature Sensing) and optical fiber composite underground cable.

  • A new DC-DC converter circuit for LVDC(Low Voltage Direct-Current) distribution is proposed. DC-DC converter consists of two stage which are voltage balancer and converter stage. The balancing circuit adjust balance input voltage of converter circuit and compensate for unbalanced loads and short circuits. The converter circuit control the bipolar output voltage ${\pm}750V$. Simulation is carried out for this DC-DC converter system.

  • 본 논문에서는 바이폴라 타입 DC 마이크로그리드의 전압 불균형을 보상하기 위한 전압 밸런싱 기법과 안정도 향상을 위한 제어기법을 제안하였다. 선로 임피던스와 부하 불균형에 의한 전압 불평형 문제를 해석하고 제안하는 기법을 통해 이를 해결하였으며 과도 상태에 대한 DC 배전계통의 안정도 향상기법을 개발하였다. 제안하는 시스템의 동작 타당성을 체계적으로 분석하기 위해 PSCAD/EMTDC 소프트웨어를 이용한 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하고 그 성능을 검증하였다.

  • Surge arrestor is used for protection of facilities and lines. Recently lots of arresters fatted prematurely In the distribution lines. It is important to know that what the cause of the failures is. This paper presents characteristics of the aged and new 18kV surge arrester. In order to analyse characteristics, we measured leakage current using specialty made leakage current measurement system and also investigated Tan $\delta$ of the arrester and microstructure of the elements. Through the investigation we found that the characteristics among the ZnO elements in an arrester were a little different, It means that the surge arreste can have non-uniform electric field due to the characteristic difference of The each element. Owing to this concentration of the electric field, the localized aging might be proceeded.

  • In this paper, the distribution suspension porecelain insulators which had been used for long periods in the contaminated area were evaluated. The contaminated area is close to the sea and in the high density of industries. The heavily contaminated domestic and imported insulators were investigated by using electrical characteristics, such as power-frequency dry flashover voltage, power-frequency wet, flahover voltage, and leakage current. Also, these electrical results were compared with the contaminants on the surface. From these analysis, we found that the contamination from the industrial dust, only slightly decreased flashover voltage and increased leakage current. Therefore, the electrical properties of insulators used for 30 years in the area of coast and industrial complex were not much changed.

  • The voltage profile of Zinc/Air battery during discharge has very flat pattern in a given voltage range, But, if not enough the porosity in cathode, as a result of that capacity, energy and discharge voltage of batteries become low. Therefore, we focused the pore effects in activated carbon for cathode. We examined discharge voltage, specific capacity, specific energy, resistance and characteristics during the GSM pulse discharge upon different kinds of activated carbon in Zinc/Air battery, Also we measured porosity of the air cathode according to the ASTM. So we achieved improvement of specific capacity, specific energy and discharge voltage according to increase meso pores of activated carbon. We found the optimized activated carbon material for Zinc/Air battery.

A Study on the Lifetime Evaluation of Porcelain Suspension Insulator Using Tensile Test (인장시험에 의한 자기재 현수애자의 수명평가에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the results of lifetime evaluation for porcelain suspension insulator using tensile test. The specimens were collected from the branch offices of the KEPCO. The tensile tests were performed with the instron which had the speed of 1mm per minites. The factors of quality were calculated with the maximum tensile strength measured from each specimens. With the quality factors, a factor of lifetime was determined. The lifetime of porcelain suspension insulator as a factor of fabricated years was evaluated.

  • 배전용 고분자피뢰기의 오손환경 하에서 표면누설전류, 저항성누설전류, 전체누설전류 특성을 구하기 위하여 ESDD오손환경 하에서 실험을 실시하였다. ESDD레벨에 따라 인가전압의 승압으로 일정한 규칙을 얻을 수 있다. 또한 피뢰기의 진단을 위해서 모니터 링을 위한 파라미터는 저항성성분의 누설전류를 이용하였다. Clean상태의 피뢰기는 3고조파가 우세한상태로 인가전압의 승압에따라 특징을 찾을 수 있었다 그러나 오손된 경우는 clean상태와는 전혀 다른 5고조파성분이 크게 나타난 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
