A lack of basic academic skills of junior college students has negatively impacted on the quality of vacational education and student dropout prevention, and yet it is true that there still are unclear alternatives or solutions to come up with that concern. As a way to find out the actual levels of basic academic skills of junior college students and educational efforts to improve these skills, the study investigated prior studies and benchmarked strengths and weaknesses of the related educational programs and supporting systems operated by ten junior colleges around the nation. Further, the study addressed emerging issues and challenges related to basic academic skills, based on the case study of D college. Major research methodologies included literature review, surveys for students and faculty members and focus-group interviews of faculty members in order to examine the states of students' basic academic skills in the area of language, in particular. Accordingly, the study proposed several suggestions with which educational practitioners could assist in supporting students to acquire improved basic academic skills(such as the development of a competence-based curriculum, implementation of reliable diagnosis tools and supporting educational systems for evaluating students' basic academic skills and upgrading of diverse teaching and learning resources and methods).

As education is one of key factors to improve national competitiveness, quality education becomes a top priority in all countries around the world. In South Korea, The Basic Skills Competency Test is administered annually to select below-basic third graders and provide intervention programs. The Basic Skills Competency Test was designed to diagnose the minimal competency of third graders according to a national-level standards. The purpose of this study was to analyze standard-setting procedures and set cut-off scores. This study offered the empirical evidence that standard-setting is generally applicable in schools by the modified Ebel method. More future researches addressing appropriate and efficient standard-setting methods in real school situations are needed to be taken in.

This study was conducted to identify and analyze the educational needs for key vocational competency in nursing students. The participants were 411 nurse students at five universities and the survey was conducted from June 1 to June 31, 2016. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 23.0 using descriptive statistics, a paired T-test, Borich's Needs Analysis, as well as the Locus for Focus Model. Based on the results, the subjects recognized the present level of 'professional ethics,' 'self development' and 'interpersonal skills' to be high and those of 'communication skills' and 'skills for understanding groups' to be low. 'Professional ethics,' 'self development,' 'problem solving skills' and 'communication skills' were the most important sub-elements of vocational competency. A significant difference in recognition levels between present and importance ere found in all components of vocational competency. The four priorities were analyzed based on Borich's needs value. In accordance with the Locus for Focus model, 'communication skills,' 'problem solving,' 'resource management skills' and 'self development' were identified as the highest priority sub-factors of vocational competency to nursing students. Based on the result of this study, it is expected to be used as the basic data to develop the nursing student's vocational curriculum and program.

반도체, 항공.우주, 신소재 등 첨단 산업기술 부문의 연구개발 고도화의 필요성에 효과적으로 부응하고 국내 기초과학 육성을 위하여 CRAY-2S가 설치되었다. 선진 각국의 무역장벽이 높아지고 지적소유권 보호가 강화됨에 따라 첨단기술의 도입이 점차 어려워지는 이때 학계와 연구소의 기초연구에 활용, 국내 연구 수준을 선진국 대열로 높이고, 국내 산업계의 신제품 개발 및 산업 생산성 증대에 활용하여 국산품의 국제 경쟁력을 제고하는 것이 바람직하다.

본 연구에서는 아직까지 기초적인 연구수준에 머물러 있는 지상시설물의 유지관리를 위해서 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN) 기반 지상시설물의 관리를 위한 기초연구를 수행하였다. 내용은 도시내 지상시설물중 USN 기반으로 관리가 가능한 대상 시설물을 도출하고, 관리대상 지상시설물에 적용할 수 있는 센서의 종류와 특성을 제시하였다. 그리고 관리대상 지상시설물의 지능화 레벨을 분석하여 지능화 체계를 정립하고, 이를 위한 서비스 개념도를 제시하였다.

In this study, we research distinctive features of geometry problem solving of middle school students whose mathematical achievement levels are distinguished by National Assessment of Educational Achievement. We classified 9 students into 3 groups according to their level : advanced level, proficient level, basic level. They solved an atypical geometry problem while all their problem solving stages were observed and then analyzed in aspect of development of geometrical concepts and access to the route of problem solving. As those analyses, we gave some suggestions of teaching on mathematics as students' achievement level.

Korea's basic research has been rapidly expended in both quantative and qualitative aspect since establishment of 'the Korea Science & Engineering Foundation' in 1977, proclaiming of 'the First Year of Basic Research Promotion' and enactment of 'the Basic Sciences Promotion Act' in 1989. Despite the continuous increment of government basic research funding, the problem of low perceptions of university researchers on the funding increment has been constantly raised. Based on an intrinsic review on the core issues are diagnosed based on Korean academics' basic research status analysis and future challenges are proposed based on the precedent diagnoses. The six key issues that need to take the next step in Korean academics' basic research are as follows: (1) basic research investment in universities, (2) appropriate research expenses for supporting individual researcher, (3) basic research funding allocation method, (4) maintaining the sustainable success rate of research projects, (5) systematic and strategic support for excellent researchers, (6) creating research-immersive environment. The five challenges to promote basic research in academics are as follows: (1) increasing in university research expenses, (2) diversification of basic research funding allocation method, (3) establishment of research field-specified support system and predictable principles, (4) stable and sufficient support for outstanding researchers, (5) reducing burden on research administration.

본 연구는 1)콜센터의 전략적 중요성을 설명하고, 2)국내외의 콜센터 운영수준진단 및 평가에 관한 연구경향 및 주요 문헌을 소개하며, 3)이러한 이론적 토대를 기초로 하여 국내 콜센터 운영수준을 평가할 수 있는 모형을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 콜센터 운영수준평가모형의 개발을 통해 각 기업은 자신의 콜 센터 현 수준을 세밀하고 다각적인 방법으로 진단과 평가할 수 있으며, 강·약점을 분석할 수 있는 객관적인 분석기회를 가질 수 있으며, 이를 통해 개선점을 도출할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is an analysis on the 3rd graders' achievement in the elementary school. For this purpose, this study, first, analysed on the 3rd graders' achievement like the ratios of the achievement levels for whole students, sexual students, and regional students. Second, this study analysed the 3rd graders' assessment results like the total averages, averages for the contents area, sexual students, and regional students. Third, this study analysed students' special responses on the items.
