The purpose of this study was to examine the rate of intention and registration of organ donation and to find their associated factors among some medical and nursing students. The study subjects were 629 students who majored in the medicine and nursing in medical school. The data were collected from self-administerd questionnaire composed of intention and registration of organ donation and scales of knowledge and attitude toward organ donation. As a result, the rates of intention and registration of organ donation were 72.1% and 12.5%, respectively. The associated factors with the intention of organ donation were sex, judging the brain death as a death, attitude for organ donation. The associated factors with the registration of organ donation were major, knowledge scores and attitude scores of organ donation.

기증본의 진짜 매력은 자신이 직접 기증의 수혜자가 되는 데 있다. 그러나 기증본에서 느꼈던 저자의 후의도 순진한 옛말이 돼버린 성싶다. 책이 워낙 흔해진 세상이니 자기과시와 홍보의 차원에서 책을 '뿌리는' 일들이 점점 빈번해지고, 따라서 기증본을 받는 감흥도 많이 엷어진 것이 사실이다. 바야흐로 기증본 공해시대가 온 것일까.

홍익대학교 고승관 교수가 지난 7월 3일 충북도립미술관 건립을 위해 자신이 만든 작품과 함께 수집품 등을 기증했다. 특히 이번 기증은 고승관 교수가 20년간 작업해 온 286개의 돌탑과 작품 300여점 및 그동안 수집해 온 민속품 및 공예품 200점도 함께 기증했다. 이와 아울러 도립미술관 부지와 함께 미술관 건물도 함께 기증했다. 다음은 고승관 교수의 글이다.

대학도서관에서 자료기증이 활발하게 이루어지고 있으나 지금까지 우리나라에서 자료기증을 다룬 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구의 목적은 미국 대학도서관의 자료기증 절차에 대하여 알아보고 설문조사를 통해 우리나라 대학도서관의 자료기증 현황을 파악하여 개선방안을 모색하는데 있다.

대한인쇄문화협회(회장 김남수)는 지난 1월 12일 인쇄문화회관 5층 회의실에서 서체 기증식을 가졌다. 이날 기증식은 (주)릭스코(대표이사 김재욱)와 (주)헤움디자인(대표이사 김진덕)이 자체 개발한 서체를 각각 20종, 총 40종을 대한인쇄문화협회에 무상기증하기로 합의한데 따른 행사였다. 2월 1일부터 인협의 회원사들은 폭넓은 범위에 걸쳐 활용도가 높게 서체를 사용할 수 있게 되었으며 향후 경영에도 적잖은 도움이 될 것으로 보인다.

우리나라 장기기증자는 선진국에 비교해 크게 부족하다. 이로 인해 실낱같은 희망을 걸고 장기이식 순서를 기다리는 대기자는 매년 증가하고 있다. 장기기증은 간이나 신장질환자의 치료에 투입되는 엄청난 의료비용을 줄여준다. 생명나눔 차원뿐만 아니라 사회적 비용 감소에도 기여하는 것이다. 외국의 장기기증 현황을 알아봄으로써 국내 적용 가능성을 점쳐보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to provide a more persuasive organ donation campaign based on the understanding of the public based on the personal characteristics and value factors of various age groups. The influence of personal characteristics and value factors (organ donation attitude, organ donation knowledge, self - efficacy, internal medicine, attitude toward discontinuation of life - saving treatment) on the intention of organ donation among 20s to 60s or older was examined. Demographic variables that were predicted to affect individual behavioral intentions such as gender, age, and religion were included. The value factors were also included attitudes toward life-sustaining treatment and afterlife view to identify potential factors. The results showed that attitude toward organ donation, knowledge of organ donation, self-efficacy, attitudes toward life-sustaining treatment had a significant positive effect on organ donation intention.

The purpose of this study was necessary to increase certainty of nursing ethical value and recognition of organs donation in the nurses. Multiple programs are consistently need to educate nursing ethical value. The subjects were 222 nurses in a hospital. Data collection was carried out for seventeen days from 14th January 2011, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. The mean score of nursing ethical value was $3.22{\pm}0.38$ points. The mean score toward organ donation in brain dead donors was $3.34{\pm}0.48$ points. Nursing ethical values almost never had a correlation(r=.160) toward organ donation in brain dead donors.

In modern society, there is a growing demand for human tissue donation along with organ donation. However, the awareness of tissue donation and actual donation rates remain very low in South Korea. This study was undertaken to evaluate the current status of domestic laws and systems, and to compare them with the operation systems of major foreign countries, by reviewing literature and web sites of organ donation and registration. The authors present three measures to promote human tissue donation in Korea: integration of a dual legal system in a legal aspect, vitalization of the Opt-out system in terms of system operation, and activation of public relations in terms of social and cultural aspects. The Opt-out system, in particular, is the most effective way to activate transplants in the form of presumed consent of countries without undue pressure. However, the presumed consent method requires various stages of social public debate, and the requirement is a proper domestic understanding of the registration system for rejection. In conclusion, we believe the solution towards a positive inclination for organ donation is a public policy to increase the supply for organs and human tissue transplants, and positive perception of donations, public promotion, and support for postmortem donors and their families.

This study aims at providing basic data on organ donation by analyzing factors of influencing toward intention to organ donation and further at improving people's consciousness on organ donation, subject to citizens of Busan City. The data was collected for 47 days from 14 July to 31 August, 2009. Among a total of 2200 cases of the questionaries, only 2042 cases were used. For data analysis, SPSS 17.0 was used, and for the specific analysis method frequency analysis to understand general characteristics of the participants. In addition, examination on T-test and ANOVA analysis were conducted after analyzing the factors for participants' consciousness on organ donation, and logistic regression analysis for understanding of relations between participants' will to donate organs and general characteristics. The results of this study are summarized as follows; First, among the participants, those who have heard about organ donations were 71.6%. Second, the factors that general characteristics influence on the attitudes towards organ donation include gender, chronic diseases or incurable diseases in the respondents or their family, religion, acceptive attitude factor, exclusive attitude factor and positive attitude factor towards organ donation. Based on the results, in order to raise people's consciousness on organ donation and form social sympathy, more than anything else, public mass media like broadcasting is important. In addition, as organ donation centers and related institutions prepare nationwide events, we should endeavor to prepare the opportunities in various ways to converse people's consciousness on organ donation and further put organ donation into practice.
