  • This study was done through survey of the school and the small and medium enterprise which participated in "Human resources development program of small and medium enterprise technical high school's customized link", and we researched the problem with the actual condition of the program operation and analyzed the results of them. The analysis results are as follows. Firstly, the teachers recognized the purpose of this program operation as the activation of the occupation education between school and job world, On the other hand, people in charge of the company recognized the purpose of this program operation as the professional human resources supply to the small and medium enterprises. Secondly, the teachers perceived that the students' performative competence had improved through the operation of this program, while the inducement of some excellent students was not always available. Finally people in charge of the company responded that this program was helpful for the manpower guarantee, the profits of the company, the enhancement of the performative competence and adaptability of the high school graduates, and the cooperation of the technical high school and the company. However, they admitted that this program lacked the maintenance and repairing competence of the utilities, ability of grasping problems and the problem-solving skills, and the competence of the functional expertise of the high school graduates. Generally, the teachers of technical high school and people in charge of the company which participate in "Human resources program of small and medium enterprise technical high school's customized link" expressed positive appreciation for efficient management and potential development of this program.

Employment conditions and Career planning of ex-participants of the customized training program(CTP) in Technical High Schools for an specific Small and Medium Business (기업·공고연계 맞춤형 인력양성 프로그램 수료자의 근로여건과 경력설계 실태)

  • This paper was intended to investigate employment conditions and career planning of ex-participants of the customized training program(CTP) in Technical High Schools for the specific Small and Medium Business through questionnaires. Results of the research were: 1. The average ex-participant of CTP was employed in small size company with 50 employees, earned 1~1.2 Million Won monthly, worked about 50 hours per week. 2. They were earnestly considering and worried about their career. They had their career goals : Engineer in production and manufacturing, CEO of a company, Design engineer. 3. They were not able to invest enough time and energy in developing their capabilities and skills. 4. There were feelings of respondents, which the main barriers of their career achievement were : (1) their deficiency of personal competencies and endurance. (2) not time enough to learn (3) the fallacy of organizational support and atmosphere.

Skill-up experiences of ex-participants of the customized training program in Technical High Schools for Small and Medium Business during first 2 years in Company (산학연계(기업.공고) 맞춤형 인력양성 프로그램 수료근로자의 취업 후 초기 2년간 습숙경험)

  • The goal of this paper was to understand the skill-up experiences of ex-participants of the customized training program in Technical High Schools for Small and Medium Business during first 2 years in Company through qualitative interviews with 3 purposefully selected ex-participants. Their core skill-up experience in this period was assumed as the shift from' dependent worker' to 'independent worker' on the base of literature review. The results of this study were following : 1. The small and medium companies offered a few formal training for newcomers, production-site orientation through short job rotation, linking them with skilled workers and job manuals or job standards. 2. Authentic skill-up experiences were combined with a structured reprimand, peer learning, deep learning through reflection on one's own experiences. 3. There were a few handicap conditions that disturbed their skill-up activities: the skilled worker don't open their skill toward new corner; the ex-participants in company had no time to learn anything meaningful to up-grade their competency.
