Analyses of Environmental and Psychological Factors for Academic Hatred: Focusing on the Senior Students in Korean High Schools (학업반감에 영향을 미치는 환경적·심리적 영향요인 분석: 고등학교 3학년 학생을 대상으로)

  • This study is to verify relative influence of individual, parent, peer, teacher-related variables as protective factors and risk factors of academic hatred. Surveys were conducted with 1,015 (women, 57.3%) high school third grade students across eight schools where are located in Seoul, Incheon, and Geyonggi province. Correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were performed. The findings are summarized as follows. Teacher's academic pressure did not have significant correlation with student's basic psychological needs, teacher's autonomy support, teacher's support, and peer support whereas other variables showed significant correlation each others. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that student's individual competence and autonomy, parent's academic support, and teacher's emotional support work as protective factors and that parent's academic pressure functions as a risk factor. The effects of peer support disappeared when teacher-related factors were included. In addition, the effects of teacher's autonomy support disappeared, while the effects of teacher's support strengthened when learner's basic psychological needs were input. This study is meaningful in that it clarified academic hatred which had not been studied in other research and that it provided theoretical foundation for subsequent studies on academic hatred by examining relative influence of related variables. Lastly, it presented its limitation, implications on intervening strategies in school counseling, and suggestions for later studies.

  • 의복은 인간 생활의 기본적인 의.식.주의 하나로서 인간의 신체적, 사회적, 심리적 욕구를 만족시키 는 필수적인 부분을 차지한다. 이러한 의복은 정상인이나 장애인 모두에게 중요한 것인데, 장애인의 의복은 장애부위 및 그 정도와 밀접하게 관련된 특수한 요구사항이 추가된다는 점이 달라, 표준화된 대량생산체제를 지니고 있는 현대의 의복생산에 비추어 볼 때, 장애인들의 특수한 요구를 충족시켜 주는 의복을 제공해 준다는 것은 매우 어려운 일임을 알 수 있다. 또한 우리의 현 실정을 살펴보면 장애인을 위한 기성복은 물론 맞춤복도 별로 없고, 기존의 논문들의 대부분이 몇몇 지체장애인에게 국한된 의복형태를 제시하고 있어서 많은 장애인들 에게 동시에 적용되는 패턴의 연구가 절실함을 알 수 있다. 게다가 이러한 패턴 연구에 기본이 되는 장애인의 체형특성 연구는 거의 찾아보기 힘듬을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 장애인들에게 보편적으로 적용될 수 있는 패턴의 제작에 기본이 되는, 의복구성시에 필요한 칫수를 계측하고, 그것을 동일한 연령층의 일반인과 비교하여 어떠한 차이가 있는가를 구명함으로써 장애인에게 보다 신체적합성이 높은 의복 패턴제작에 도움을 주는데 있다.

The Influence of Teacher-Librarians' Autonomy Support on Middle School Library Users' Satisfaction and Continuance Intention: The Mediating Role of Three Basic Psychological Needs (사서교사의 자율성 지지가 중학생의 학교도서관 만족도와 지속의도에 미치는 영향 - 기본심리욕구의 매개효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of teacher-librarians' autonomy support on the school library users' satisfaction and continuance intention. Based on SDT(self-determination theory), it focuses on the mediating effect of BPN(basic psychological needs) between the autonomy supports and the satisfaction of the school library users. A survey was administered to 331 middle school students and the research model was examined by using regression analysis and Hayes' parallel multiple mediator model. The findings show that the teacher-librarians' support for autonomy directly and indirectly has a positive effect on the students' satisfaction with the school library, and perceived autonomy and competence among the sub-factors of basic psychological needs are found to have a significant mediating effect between the support of the librarian's autonomy and satisfaction with the school library. In addition, students' satisfaction with the school library shows a significant effect on the continuance intention. This study is meaningful in that it presents the role of teacher-librarians as a factor affecting students' motivation to use school libraries and provides implications for revitalizing school libraries.

  • Gamers switch their games to a new when get bored or encounter more attractive ones. Switching cost varies by gamers and depends on how they are satisfied with their current game. This study evaluates the satisfaction with current games as the miltiple basic psychological need in the self-determination theory and suggests 'needs-costs' causality research model that explain the variety of gamer's switching behavior. As the empirical test to domestic mobile gamers, the autonomy fulfillment to current game affect reversely with those of autonomy and relatedness. Those relationships between need satisfaction and perceptual switching cost vary according to their age and game genre preference. The results would be applied to understand gamers' switching behavior.

  • SNS is developing rapidly along with diffusion of smartphone. However as useage of SNS became excessive, SNS addiction became a social problem. Meanwhile the problem that users leavning SNS because of negative perceptions about SNS became issue. As both SNS addiction and continuance are important when using SNS, this study examines factors affecting Facebook addiction and continuance. We derive three personal traits, which is autonomy, competence, relatedness as variables that affect Facebook addiction and continuance to use Facebook. The authors' structural equation model using data, collected from 204 Facebook user, showed that autonomy and competence significantly affected Facebook addiction. Also, autonomy, competence and relatedness significantly affect Facebook continuance.

  • The study aims to develop a assessment tool to provide the in-home disabled in a local community with appropriate services in consideration of physical, emotional, social and environmental circumstances. After collection of assesment data of 200 in-home disabled through use of the tool, a desire-extracting algorithm was developed to provide a service to real needs through the use of decision tree analysis on data mining. The study was conducted for Five months from June 2006 through October 2006, and it is divided into development of an assessment tool and extraction of real needs through the use of the tool. The basic framework of the development of the tool was established through the examination of related literature, the subjective satisfaction of the assessment tool and items were developed through the use of a focus group and experts, and verification was implemented through the use of statistics to confirm the validity of the tool.     • This study is to identify the psychological effect of make-up, to examine women's tendency toward make-up and to figure out relationships between their psychological properties and its functions. This study has verified that makeup has a positive effect on their interpersonal relationships, psychological reaction and self- confidence as well as it meets their fundamental aesthetic needs. And further studies about psychological reason why they wear makeup need to be made. Makeup has an effect on their looks and it has a psychological effect of being able to decorate and move their mind. finally, it is anticipated that the study for psychological approach to makeup could contribute on the study for positive makeup treatment.

    A Study of the Characteristic of Korean Grit: Examining Multidimensional Clustering of Grit (한국형 그릿(Grit) 특성에 대한 고찰: 높은 그릿집단의 다차원적 유형 연구)

    • The purpose of this research was to examine the characteristics of typical Korean grit as opposed to Western conceptualizations. We conducted cluster analysis to identify subgroups based on three related but distinct constructs-passion(harmonious vs. obsessive) and meaning in life. Basic needs satisfaction, life satisfaction, and ego-resilience were further assessed to explore potential group-specific differences in psychological attributes. Highly gritty individuals(n=139; M=22.51 yrs) were selected by using the median. According to our results, gritty individuals were subdivided into 3 groups: the initiative who possesses highly adaptive harmonious passion and meaning in life(35.8%), the obsessive who are high in maladaptive obsessive passion(26.1%), and the passive who are the lowest in all(38.1%). The initiative grit scored the highest in all three attributes while the two other subgroups showed culturally unique patterns. Our results suggest that culture specific factors may mold differently the unfolding and psychological outcomes of grit in Korea.

    The Influence of Autonomy, Competency, Relatedness on Burnout among Nurses (자율성, 유능감, 관계성이 간호사 소진에 미치는 영향)

    • This study aimed to assess the influence of burnout with satisfaction of basic psychological needs among nurses. From oct, 25, 2013 to nov, 25, 2013, participants included 160 nurses from 6 major general hospital located in urban areas in Korea. Data for basic psychological needs and burnout were collected through a self-reported questionnaire and were analyzed with independent t-test and analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. This study shows negative correlations between burnout and autonomy(r=-.45, P<.001), competency(r=-.52, P<.001), relatedness(r=-.49, P<.001). The variables predicting burnout were autonomy(${\beta}=-.26$), competency(${\beta}=-.30$), relatedness(${\beta}=-.12$), age(${\beta}=-.17$), number of service years(${\beta}=.09$). These variables accounted for 34.3% of the variance of burnout in nurses. Our results indicated that it is necessary to increase basic psycological needs to decrease burnout. Therefore nursing managers should develop programs in order to increase autonomy, relatedness and competency.

    • In post-industrial society, the ability to feel and express emotion is becoming ever more important. In diverse areas of our lives such as economic, social, political and cultural activities, we are witnessing an increased application of the emotional dimension. This paper deals with the human experiences in emotional designs. Literature reviews and case analyses have been used as the main research methods. I first examine the aspects of emotional experience in designs, and then go on to analyze the components of each aspect. Emotional experience in designs has three basic aspects : (a) initially there exist user's emotional needs (b) then these emotions are delivered through design, (c) finally, emotions expressed in designs are experienced by the user. Followings are the related components for each aspect : (a) Physiological, psychological, social and cultural factors cause one to feel emotional needs. (b) Emotion is delivered either through visual symbols, experience, interaction and participation. (c) Emotion is experienced by sensing, feeling, thinking, acting and relating.
