One of the fundamental roles of libraries is to provide users with efficient and easy retrieval of materials. Various discussions have been made at domestic and abroad to improve the accessibility of materials by category, user, and collection, and at the center of this is the issue of improving classification and cataloging systems. However, there are few studies in this area dealing with the data accessibility of the DLS catalog, which is a central tool for accessing domestic school library materials. This study started from the appeal of school library users to the difficulty of searching and accessing books, especially literature. This study is an exploratory study that attempts to derive problems by finding the causes of there difficulties from various aspects. To this study, we surveyed and analyzed the current status of school library collections, the data registration of the school library support system DLS, the subject accessibility of catalog records produced through this, and the recognition and opinions of school library professionals. As a result, school library collections were highly concentrated in the literature field, and it was found that there was not enough catalog bibliographic records to provide efficient access to these collections. In addition, it was found to be somewhat lacking through the DLS search function to compensate for this. Surveys of school librarians and librarians have also identified this problem, and a rich topic index and search keyword assignments have been drawn to the majority of opinions as a way to improve access to materials in school library catalogs. As a continuous discussion on this subject, the plan for improving access to school library materials will be more concrete through future user studies and new challenges for bookshelf classification.

Since the present training system of Korean teacher librarians is not adequate to strengthen their expertise, the training system should be changed. The purpose of this study is to suggest an improvement of the system, which prescribes their curriculums. To do this, first of all, the requirements for being given a national teacher certification are explored. Secondly, three major previous studies are reviewed. As a result, three subjects have been added to the present curriculum which consists presently of eight subjects. The added subjects are library and information education, information literacy and collaboration and collection development.

The university library is supposed to build its collection in an organized and controlled manner to achieve its one goals for information services, and the book selection is an essential element of librarianship to support the university process of research and education effectively. This study focuses on the faculty influence on the book selection process of the university library. the researcher concludes that too much hegemony in the hands of professors is not appropriate and at least part of it should be handed over to librarians.

Regardless of which country, all public libraries need facilities, collections, and funds. But how well the library system succeeds depends on the staff committed to providing the highest possible level of service to the community. The public library, therefore, should employ the appropriate number of full-time staff. In order to warrant such a work force, this study analyzed the juridical justification, logical validity, realistic fitness, and usefulness of current legal and recommended staffing standards. This study also suggested the revisions of total space of buildings and collection size as crucial variables for library staffing, division of legal service populations, basic staffing level, and additional staff in proportion to service populations for public libraries in Korea.

The standard of library is to provide the mission and goals, user services, and operations management of the library. Also, it is can be used as a tool that evaluate a various services and programs of the library. However, library standard of domestic does not reflect a realistic situation of special libraries, therefore it should be revised immediately. In this study, I analyzed the international trend of special library standards in major countries, and compared the legal and recommended standards, and evaluation indicators in Korea. As a result, revised directions of new standard have been proposed. Proposed directions will contribute in revising the special library standard of Korea.

Seonsaengan(先生案) is the predecessor's lists. The list includes the names of the predecessor, the date of the appointment, the date of return, the previous job, and the next job. Therefore, previous studies on the local recruitment and Jungin (中人) that can not be found in general personnel information of the Joseon dynasty were conducted. However, the status and classification of the list has not been achieved yet. So this study aims to clarify the status, classification and data characteristics of the list. 176 books, are the Joseon dynasty lists of predecessors, remain to this day. These lists are in Jangseogak(47 cases), Kyujanggak(80 cases), the National Library of Korea(24 cases) and other collections(25 cases). Jangseogak has lists of royal government officials, Kyujanggak has lists of central government officials, and the National Library of Korea and other collections have lists of local government officials. However, this paper focuses on accessible Jangseogak list of 47 cases. As I mentioned earlier, the Jangsaegak lists are generally related to the royal government officails. This classification includes 18 central government officials, 5 local government officials, and 24 royal government officails. If the list is classified as contents, it can be classified into six rituals and diplomatic officials, 12 royal government officials, 5 local government officials, 14 royal tombs officials, and 10 royal education officials. Through the information on the list, the following six characteristics can be summarized. First, it can be finded the basic personal information about the recorded person. Second, the period of office and reasons for leaving the office and office can be known. Third, changes in the office system can be confirmed. Fourth, it can be looked at one aspect of the personnel administration system of the Joseon Dynasty through the previous workplace and the next job. Fifth, it is possible to know days that are particularly important for each government. Sixth, the contents of work evaluation can be confirmed. This is the reality of the Joseon Dynasty, which is different from the contents recorded in the Code. Through this, it is possible to look at the personnel administration system of the Joseon Dynasty. However, in order to carry out a precise review, it is necessary to make a database for 176 lists. In addition, if data is analyzed in connection with existing genealogy data, it will be possible to establish a basis for understanding the personnel administration system of the Joseon Dynasty.

In line with the establishment of the National Sejong Library, the main objective of this study is to construct a basic management plan to enable smooth operations of the library from its opening. To follow through with this goal, this paper analyzes the environment surrounding the National Sejong Library, puts forth new strategies to reinforce the policy information service, and suggests new development plans for the library's collection. This study examines the internal and external environment of the library through face-to-face interviews with library staff, while conducting surveys on public officials transferred to the city for suggestions on how to reinforce the policy information service. The vision of the National Sejong Library is to become a specialized resource institution in administrative policy, while also fulfilling the day-to-day needs of the community and serving as a supplementary record storage facility to the National Library. In order to reinforce the policy information service, it is crucial to digitize all policy-related theses, reports, and trend research, while establishing a firm network with other libraries in Korea and abroad to provide a wider range of policy files, local government policy documents, and other resources.

The objective of this study was to evolve development strategies used as primary resources for the development plan establishment of public libraries in Yongsan-gu. To reach the aims of this research, this study examined precedent studies related to the status of domestic libraries operation and development plan. This research derived integral factors such as regional characteristics, library facilities, human resources, collections, and budges to be considered for analysis of the current situations. By using in-depth interviews with librarians and professionals, the operational and development plans of public libraries in Yongsan-gu were explored. The findings presented in this study suggested development strategies such as an expansion of library infrastructure and reading culture and development of regional specialization programs and redesign the management system.

The purpose of this study is to suggest strategies to improve and revitalize public small libraries established and operated by local governments among small libraries in Yangpyeong-gun. For this purpose, basic factors to be considered for the analysis of the current situation were derived by examining the policies and prior studies of small libraries. Based on these factors, the operation status of the public small libraries were analyzed, and interviews were conducted with the itinerant libertarians and staffs. As a result of the analysis, the main problems were the deterioration of a building, the lack of manpower and expertise, and the collection and program that did not reflect regional characteristics. In this study, we suggested a revitalization strategy such as improvement of the operating system, development of community-focused life-friendly libraries, reinforcement of manpower and expertise, development of book collections and reading culture programs with regional specialization, and establishment of community networks.
