An investigation of autoignition characteristics of kerosene by decomposed hydrogen peroxide (분해된 과산화수소를 이용한 케로신의 자연점화특성 조사)

  • Traditional propellants which have a hypergolic characteristic have a high performance but also have disadvantages of toxicity and complex handling requirement. In order to replace these propellants, one of the alternatives is hydrogen peroxide which generates high temperature oxygen and water vapor after catalytic reaction. In this paper, autoignition characteristics of kerosene by decomposed hydrogen peroxide were investigated to perform fundamental research for designing a thruster using hydrogen peroxide and kerosene propellants. Contraction ratio, whether flame holder exists or not, and feeding pressure of propellants were selected as variables. From the experiments for different mixture ratio, we confirmed the ignition stability is strongly affected by a feeding pressure of propellants.

Effect of temperature and moisture on curling of early age concrete slabs (재령 초기 콘크리트 슬래브의 컬링에 미치는 온도와 수분의 영향)

  • It is known that the long-term behavior and performance of jointed concrete pavement due to slab curling are affected by the environmental factors such as temperature, moisture, and so on. However, any relationships between the curling and its factors have not been defined clearly yet because of insufficient detailed investigation. The temperature, relative humidity, strain, vertical displacement of a concrete slab, and horizontal movement of its transverse joints were investigated by various sensors and devices instrumented in the slab of a concrete pavement section constructed for this study. The constraint of the curling by joint stiffness was investigated in addition to effect of the temperature and moisture on the early aged concrete slab by analyzing the field data measured for approximately 4days from concrete placement. The curling of the concrete slab showed 24hour cycles mainly because of the temperature effect, and the upward curling gradually increased because of the long-term effect of drying shrinkage of the concrete. The magnitude and variation of the curling were significantly affected by the joint stiffness which is comprised of aggregate interlocking and other factors. The effect of the variation of the seasonal joint stiffness varying with the temperature and long-term drying shrinkage on the slab curling will be investigated as a further study.

  • 아라미드 섬유는 열에 강한 튼튼한 방향족 폴리아마이드 섬유이다. 아마이드는 "85%이상의 아미드(CO-NH)기가 두 개의 방향족 고리에 직접 연결된 합성 폴리아미드로부터 제조된 섬유"로 정의된다. 아라미드 섬유는 크게 파라계와 메타계로 대별되는데 본 연구에서 사용한 파라계 아라미드는 인장강도, 강인성, 내열성이 뛰어나며 고강력 고탄성률을 지니고 있다. 일반적인 유기 섬유와는 다른 우수한 성질을 바탕으로 부직포, UD laminatig, staple 등의 형태로 크게 섬유보강 고무 복합재료 등의 각종 복합재료, 로프, 케이블, 방탄방호용과 같은 산업자재의 용도로 자동차, 우주항공, 정보통신, 국방, 등 다양한 관련 산업분야에서 사용이 확대되고 있는 고부가 소재이며 가격대비 성능비가 우수하기 때문에 세계적으로 산업용 섬유 및 초고성능 섬유시장에서 비중이 증가될 것으로 예상되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Para-Aramid 필라멘트를 이용하여 ATY를 생산할 때 제조공정조건에 따른 ATY 물성을 알아보고 고강도를 요구하는 방화복, 고무 보강용 섬유 등의 소재에 맞는 ATY 사가공 최적공정조건을 도출하여 체계화된 data-base를 구축하여 생산성 향상 및 품질개선과 함께 산업자재용 직물개발에 응용하고자 한다. 아라미드를 ATY로 제조할 경우, 표면에 생기는 loop로 인하여 타소재와 접착시, 접착제 담지 성능이 향상되어 접착력이 상승되는 반면, 아라미드 ATY가 기존의 아라미드의 물성보다 저하되는 약점을 가지고 있으므로 이를 보완하기 위해 본 연구에서는 ATY 제조공정에서 중요 공정인자인 사속, heater 온도, over feed ratio를 변화시켜 시료를 제조하여 이들의 물성을 분석하여 최적의 물성을 갖는 ATY 사가공 공정을 도출함으로써 물성이 저하되는 문제를 보완 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 물성분석은 강신도, 초기탄성률을 각각 측정하여 인장특성을 확인하였으며, 습열수축률과 건열수축률을 측정하여 시료의 열수축률에 대해 측정을 하였다. 표면의 루프 발현 정도를 보기 위하여 Crimp Rigidity(CR%), 형태 불안정성(instability)등을 측정하였으며, 영상 현미경 시스템을 사용하여 ${\times}40$ 배율로 표면특성을 측정하였다.

Posterior Internal Impingement of the Shoulder in Baseball Players -Preliminary Report of 5 Cases Study- (야구 선수에서의 견관절 내부 후방 충돌 -5예에 대한 예비보고-)

  • Purpose: To investigate the arthroscopic findings, and to evaluate the clinical outcomes of the treatment of posterior internal impingement of the shoulder in baseball players. Materials and Methods: We followed up 5 cases who were diagnosed as posterior internal impingement for the mean 15 months. All of the cases complained of the pain in the posterior shoulder at late cocking, and were positive in the relocation test added by hyper-horizontal abduction at $120^{\circ}$ abduction of the arm. We sutured posterior labral tear and SLAP lesion arthroscopically, and conducted debridement for rotator cuff. Three cases were performed of anterior capsular plication and the other two were performed of thermal capsular shrinkage. Pain, range of motion, and level of return to sports activity were assessed for the results. Results: As to the arthroscopic findings, all the five cases showed the fraying in posterosuperior labrum, and two of them was accompanied with the flap tear in posterosuperior labrum and the other one was accompanied with type 2 SLAP lesion. All the cases showed the fraying in supraspinatus, and one case showed partial tear. Meanwhile, in all the cases, the rotator cuff was impinged to the labrum at $90^{\circ}{\sim}120^{\circ}$ of abduction and external rotation. As to the postoperative results, all the cases did not complain of pain or instability while pitching, and the competition was recovered to be the mean 88%($80{\sim}100%$) of that before the injury. Conclusion: Definite diagnosis for the posterior internal impingement would be possible through arthroscopic examination. Favorable outcomes could be obtained with capsular plication or shrinkage for anterior microinstability and stretching exercise for posterior capsule tightness inducing the internal impingement.

A Study of Hydrogen Embrittlement on a Material of CNG Storage Tank (CNG 저장용기 재료의 수소취성에 관한 연구)

  • A set of test was conducted on a SA-372 steel for CNG storage tank to study the effect of hydrogen embrittlement. Tensile tests were carried out several conditions such as CNG, HCNG and H2 gas environment including air and Ar under the 35 MPa. Also, the test speed was set at 4*10^-4/s and 4*10^-5/s respectively. To maintain the high pressure for environmental gas during test process, we chose MTS which was installed autoclave. Test results showed that tensile stress, elongation rate and cross sectional contraction under Ar and CNG charging condition were similar to that of reference of air. And there was little bit change with test speed variations. However, hydrogen added conditions such as HCNG and H2 were revealed noticeable change in elongation rate and cross sectional contraction. Tensile stress was still uniform for all conditions. From the results, the effect of hydrogen embrittlement was confirmed on the hydrogen enriched conditions. Also its effect was showed more strong with much hydrogen concentration and slower test speed.

Experimental Study for Plastic Shrinkage Cracking of Cellulose Fiber Reinforced Concrete (셀룰로우스섬유보강 콘크리트의 소성수축 균열에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Plastic shrinkage cracking is a major concern for concrete, especially for flat structures as highway pavement, slabs for parking garages, and walls. One of the methods to reduce the adverse effect of plastic shrinkage cracking is to reinforced concrete with short randomly distributed fibers. The contribution of cellulose fiber to the plastic shrinkage crack reduction potential of cement composites and its evaluation are presented in this paper. The effects of differing amounts of fibers(0.9kg/㎥, 1.3kg/㎥, 1.5kg/㎥) were studied. The results of tests of the cellulose fiber reinforced concrete were compared with plain concrete and polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete. Results indicated that cellulose fiber reinforcement showed an ability to reduce the total area and maximum crack width significantly(as compared to plain concreted to plain concrete and polypropylene fiber concrete).

  • The existing compressor steel seal used in automotive air-conditioner has the problem of oil leakage and the deterioration in shielding performance, due to the abrasion and the corrosion of the material. A new type of polymer resin seal is studied in the research. The polymer resin seal has the characteristics of high anti-abrasiveness and anti-corrosiveness, which can overcome the deflects of the steel seal. In addition, the seal needs lower manufacturing cost and is appropriate to mass production, because it is made by the injection molding method requiring no mechanical processing. The profile generation program for seal mold has been developed using the gradient method, and the molding characteristics of the seal have analyzed through the flow analysis and the warpage analysis. The program has been verified by comparing the analysis results with the measured data of the test product. The research might be said to provide the basic method to produce the polymer resin seals with various types and dimensions.

  • In plate rolling, it is desired to reduce the trimming loss by controlling the formation of defective end shapes. For this reason, edge rolling is frequently performed in the plate mill. In this paper, the effect of various process variables on the deformation of plate ends in edge rolling is examined by conducting experiments and finite element computer simulation. A focus is given to investigating the effect of edging on the width of the deformed plate trimming-free plate rolling.

  • PFP성형기술은 사출성형시 수지를 금형내에 환전히 채운후 저압의 공기를 이용하여 기포를 발생시켜 수지의 체적수축분을 기포의 성장에 의해 보상해주는 기술이다. 이방법은 일반 사출성형에서 많이 발생하는 싱크마크나 휨과 같은 변형문제를 해결하여 줄수 있으며 높은 압력을 필요로하지 않는다는 잇점을 가지고 있으나 이러한 최신공정에 대한 체계적인 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 최근에 제시된 PFP성형공정의 모델링은 기포의 성장이 수지의 체 적수축에 의한 것이라는 가정을 근거로 기포핵이 생성된 이후의 기포성장을 모사하였으며 모델링에 해석결과는 몇가지 가정에도 불구하고 실험결과를 잘 설명하였다. 본 연구에서는 모델링이 가지는 문제점을 분석하고 기포성장의 메카니즘을 보다 체계적으로 이해하기 위하 여 실험적인 방법을 적용하였다. 많은 인자들을 효과적으로 고려하기 위하여 실험계획법을 적용하였으며 이를통하여 기포핵의 생성과 기포의 성장에 공기압 등이 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 사실을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 모델링과 함께 PFP공정에 대한 체계적인 이해 뿐만 아니라 금형설계 및 성형조건의 설정등의 실제적인 문제해결에도 도움이 될것으로 기 대된다.

Quantitative Analysis of EMG Amplitude Estimator for Surface EMG Signal Recorded during Isometric Constant Voluntary Contraction (등척성 일정 자의 수축 시에 기록한 표면근전도 신호에 대한 근전도 진폭 추정기의 정량적 분석)

  • The EMG amplitude estimator, which has been investigated as an indicator of muscle force, is utilized as the control input to artificial prosthetic limbs. This paper describes an application of the optimal EMG amplitude estimator to the surface EMG signals recorded during constant isometric %MVC (maximum voluntary contraction) for 30 seconds and reports on assessing performance of the amplitude estimator from the application. Surface EMG signals, a total of 198 signals, were recorded from biceps brachii muscle over the range of 20-80%MVC isometric contraction. To examine the estimator performance, a SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) was computed from each amplitude estimate. The results of the study indicate that ARV(average rectified value) and RMS(root mean square) amplitude estimation with forth order whitening filter and 250[ms] moving average window length are optimal and showed the mean SNR improvement of about 50%, 40% and 20% for each 20%MVC, 50%MVC and 80%MVC surface EMG signals, respectively.
