  • In this study, we want to check if there are similarities and differences between Chinese students and Korean university students who make up the highest percentage of Korean students studying abroad and see what attributes affect their satisfaction with the use of Internet shopping malls. Based on the results, Chinese students will be able to suggest ways to increase their satisfaction in the process of using local Internet shopping malls and advise companies operating domestic Internet shopping malls on strategies to improve the satisfaction of foreign customers. According to the study, among the system evaluation factors experienced by Korean students and Chinese students when using Internet shopping malls, Korean students showed better information quality than their Chinese counterparts, and Chinese students showed better functionality than their Korean counterparts. Second, among the logistics system evaluation factors Korean and Chinese students experienced when using Internet shopping malls, both speed and delivery quality showed that Korean students were better than Chinese students. Third, when Korean students use local Internet shopping malls, the factors that affect their satisfaction with consumption were found to have significant effects on functionality, delivery quality, response reliability, information quality and speed. Fourth, Chinese students studying abroad showed that functionality, information quality, speediness and response reliability all had a significant impact on satisfaction, except for delivery quality.

The current social service delivery system in the public sector contains a network of services connected with the Division of Women's Welfare in the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. This study focused on evaluating the function of the public service delivery system from the perspective of the service providers. A survey of 167 civil officers in charge of women's welfare services in the city.county.district administrations, and 202 women's welfare counselors around the country was conducted in order to evaluate their current duties, effectiveness of services, and problems of the current system Six criteria including integration, continuity, accessibility, adequacy, efforts and professionalism were used for evaluating the effectiveness of the social service delivery system for women. According to the survey, the civil officers and women's counselors gave relatively favorable ratings for their job effectiveness and job satisfaction. However, their duties involving guidance and counseling of prostitute women and operation of women's welfare councils received least favorable evaluation. Moreover, in terms for job satisfaction, these service providers were less satisfied with their working conditions than their relationships with clients or colleagues. In addition, budget and personnel shortages were the most serious problems facing the delivery system Further analysis showed that professionalism and accessibility of the service delivery system had positive impact on job effectiveness while efforts, integration, accessibility and adequacy had positive impact on job satisfaction of the service providers. These findings have potential implications for designing more effective social service delivery system for women.

  • E-authentication is one of the key functions for electronic transactions with the identification function made through the information systems. With the abolition of the mandatory use of public certificates, various private e-authentication services have emerged, and are developing to provide various additional services in addition to e-authentication. In this study, we explored the factors that affect user satisfaction with e-authentication services, compared the relative influence among the factors that we explored, and produced implications that could contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of e-authentication services. Based on the characteristics of e-authentication service, we searched and found four factors such as availability, convenience, added functionality and security. After that, we established and analyzed our research model to analyze the causal relationship between these four factors and user satisfaction. The analysis results showed that availability, convenience and security had significant effects on user satisfaction, but added functionality had no significant impact. In addition, compared to availability and convenience, security had a very strong impact on user satisfaction. This study suggests that e-authentication service providers should make efforts to make users aware of the usefulness of additional services while enhancing security.

  • Suitability for the human body, freedom to move and thermal insulation are important design considerations in military clothing. This study investigates the performance and wearer-satisfaction of the functional inner winter uniform currently used in Korea; it is hoped that our data can inform the development of a future version. Interviews were conducted, in which the participants suggested various improvements. The uniforms were mainly worn for guard duty or as daily attire in cold weather. The participants chose how many layers to wear according to the current situation, rather than sticking to the layering recommended in the manual. Layering choices did not significantly affect combat efficiency but were found to affect wearers' comfort. Wearers' satisfaction was found to depend on the convenience of the clothing, whether it was in the appropriate size, freedom to move and thermal insulation. Also, this study suggests a problem with the current size system, as the analysis of size distribution, across all sizes, the range of current production is insufficient to cover the demand.

The Effect of the 'Silver Consumer's Product Satisfaction and Knowledge on the Health Functional Consumer's Well-being (실버소비자의 건강기능 제품에 대한 만족과 지식이 웰빙에 미치는 영향)

  • On 1 July 2000, as the over-65 year-old population numbered 3,371,000 and accounted for over 7.1% of Korea's total population, an aging society was revealed. The over-65 percentage climbed to 11.0% by late 2010. A truly aged society is expected soon, by 2019. This aging society requires marketing research concerning the consumer behaviour and well-being of the elderly, because the 'silver generation' is emerging as a large part of the consumer market. The purpose of this study is to empirically analyse one effect among several satisfaction factors in the consuming cycle of various health functional products on consumer's well-being and the effect of product knowledge on the relationship between product satisfaction and well-being. To achieve this purpose, we established a research model after reviewing previous studies on product satisfaction, product knowledge, and consumer's well-being. The following hypotheses were developed from the research model. Hypothesis 1: When elderly consumers' satisfaction with health functional products increases, their well-being will increase. Hypothesis 2: The effect of their satisfaction with health functional products on their well-being will be strengthened according to the level of their knowledge of the products. Those hypotheses were tested by multiple and moderated regressions to the empirical data through a questionnaire survey. As a result, Hypothesis 1 was totally adopted, and Hypothesis 2 was only partially adopted. The study has many practical implications for well-being marketing. First, in order to heighten the elderly consumer's well-being, the level of his or her satisfaction with the health functional products has to be raised in every stage: during the acquisition, preparation, use, maintenance, and disposition of the consumption cycle. Moreover, promoting positive emotional experiences while diminishing negative ones requires effort because a consumer's well-being is made up of various needs. Second, the marketing of health functional products should be invigorated in order to raise the level of elderly consumers' knowledge of them. In other words, it is important to give them an expertise in the health functional products through different channels. A statistical analysis showed, however, that their knowledge has a decisive effect on only two satisfaction stages, preparation and maintenance. Nevertheless, this merely confirmed the intuitive assumption that the knowledge of health functional products is most relevant to their preparation and maintenance. In conclusion, this study is timely because few empirical studies exist on the relationships between silver consumer behaviour and well-being marketing. It contributes to our understanding of this subject by revealing the causality between the silver consumer's satisfaction and his or her well-being in the consumption cycle and by discovering the moderating influence of knowledge in that process.
