TM plane-wave scattering from finite rectangular grooves in a conducting plane is systematically analyzed with the overlapping T-block method. Multiple rectangular grooves are divided into several overlapping T-blocks to obtain the fast CPU time, CAD applicability, and wide versatility. The scattered fields are obtained in simple closed forms including a fast-convergent integral.
In this paper, we demonstrate a facile fabrication technique for a periodically aligned metal nanoparticle array, for a narrow-band plasmonic absorber. The metal nanoparticles are fabricated by e-beam evaporation and heat treatment processes on top of a periodic aluminum groove template. The plasmonic absorber is constructed with the transferred metal nanoparticle array, sputtered 33-nm-thick $Al_2O_3$, and 200-nm-thick metal reflector layers on silicon substrate. 46-nm-diameter and 76-nm-lattice metal-nanoparticle-array-based plasmonic absorber has performed as a narrow-band absorber with a central wavelength of 572 nm and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 109.9 nm.
Relief of thermal stress has received great attention, to improve the beam quality and stability of high-power laser diodes. In this paper, we investigate a microtrench structure engraved around a laser-diode chip-on-submount (CoS) to relieve the thermal stress on a laser-diode bar (LD-bar), using the SolidWorks® software. First, we systematically analyze the thermal stress on the LD-bar CoS with a metal heat-sink holder, and then derive an optimal design for thermal stress relief according to the change in microtrench depth. The thermal stress of the front part of the LD-bar CoS, which is the main cause of the "smile effect", is reduced to about 1/5 of that without the microtrench structure, while maintaining the thermal resistance.

In this study we investigated the elution level of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), zinc (Zn), nickel (Ni), antimony (Sb), germanium (Ge), aluminum (Al) and hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) from 69 home-cooking utensils into a food stimulants. The results of migration testing according to the Korea standards and specifications for utensils, containers and packages showed values the allowable migrantion limits. Al was detected in all 7 utensil materials with the average concentration ranging from 0.002-5.989 mg/L. According to the migration conditions for (180℃, 30 min), the average concentration of Al in paper was 7.2 times higher than 25℃, 10 min (P<0.05). The results of migration testing at 180℃, 30 min were also below the allowable migrantion limits. When comparing with the provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) of Al, the estimated weekly intakes (EWI) accounted for 0.000-0.045% for Al.
In this paper, electrorefining of uranium metal was studied to develop pyrometallurgical processing technology in molten salt system. The reaction between uranium metal and $CdCl_2$ was taken about 3 hours and the uranium metal deposits were obtained in the form of dendrite grown on the cathode surface in every electrotransport experiment. The shapes of dendrite were changed according to the applied voltages. Current efficiency was decreased with the increase of current density. Deposition rate was not changed after 6 hours and its maxium was obtained at $100{\sim}150mA/cm^2$ of current density and about 75 rpm of stirring speed, respectively. Also, the current efficiency was increased with decrease of the pitch of spiral groove curved on cathode.

Ancient metal objects with inlaid designs were mainly decorated using the wire inlay technique in which "V"- or "U"-shaped grooves were cut in a metal object and then filled with gold or silver. Previous studies on ancient metal objects featuring wire inlay generally attempted to ascertain the inlay techniques applied by examining photomicroscopes acquired during conservation treatment. However, they had limitations when examining wire inlay technique to the minute details. Wire inlay technique can be better investigated by enlarging X-ray films of relics using stereoscopic microscopy under transmitted light. The core processes of the wire inlay technique involve cutting grooves using a chisel and creating the inlay wires, but researchers hold varying opinions about the two processes. This study analyzed the entirety of the materials able to shed light on the main processes applied in Baekje wire inlay by examining X-ray films of relics through stereoscopic microscopy. This exhaustive research revealed that two types of techniques were used for wire inlay during the Baekje period. One is a plastic process of engraving dotted lines using a chisel and is found mostly in objects from the Cheonan and Gongju areas. The other is a cutting process that incises fine lines and was used mostly in relics from the Osan, Seosan, and Wanju areas. It is likely that the Baekje wire inlay techniques feature regional differences because the respective techniques were used or introduced by different groups of people.

Roll-to-roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, with these merits, roll-to-roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate. The solar cell plate may have millions of patterns, and the analysis of forming considering all the patterns is impossible due to the computational costs. In this study, analyses are carried out for various numbers of patterns and the results are compared. It is shown that the analyses results with four row patterns and twelve row patterns are same. So, it is considered that the analysis can be carried out for only four rows of pattern for the design of incremental roll-to-roll forming process. Also formability is analysed for various number of mesh, protrusion shapes and forming temperature.
