This study is possible because, first, "rammatology" and typography are connected by language. Second, I believe that language in typography should be comprehended in a relationship between peripheral studies such as history, philosophy, literature, and linguistics. Finally, "grammatology" is an excellent subject for experiments which attempt to rehabilitate the right of language, which is dependent on sound within the metaphysical boundary. This study is formed on the idea that the study of typography should be based on language, which is the basic foundation, and that this is possible in investigations related to peripheral studies. The main purpose of typography is an accurate delivery of meaning. However, the dynamics of creative thoughts towards advancement mainly depends on experiment, thus we cannot limit the purpose of typography as a means of communication to exchange meanings. For these reasons, I admit that interest in peripheral studies -which are not yet approached in the study on typography -take precedence.

Document images captured by scanners have only skewing distortion. But camera captured document images have not only skew but also vignetting effect and geometric distortion. Vignetting effect, which makes the border areas to be darker than the center of the image, make it difficult to separate characters from the document images. But this effect has being decreased, as the lens manufacturing skill is developed. Geometric distortion, occurred by the mismatch of angle and center position between the document image and the camera, make the shape of characters to be distorted, so that the character recognition is more difficult than the case of using scanner. In this paper, we propose a method that can increase the performance of character recognition by correcting the geometric distortion of document images using a linear approximation which changes the quadrilateral region to the rectangle one. The proposed method also determine the quadrilateral transform region automatically, using the alignment of character lines and the skewed angles of characters located in the edges of each character line. Proposed method, therefore, can correct the geometric distortion without getting positional information from camera.

The set-based POI search algorithm showed better performance than the existing hard matching search when inaccurate queries are entered. In the set-based POI search algorithm, however, there is a problem that can't classify duplicate characters within a record. This is due to it's 'set-based' search property. To solve this problem, we improve the existing set-based POI search algorithm. In this paper, we propose and implement an improved set-based POI search algorithm that is able to deal duplicate characters properly. From the experimental results, we can find that our technique for duplicate characters improves the performance of the existing set based POI search algorithm.

There are many Hangul input systems to input Korean letter on computer or smart phone. However, the existing systems need to be required more efforts to modify the already inputted letters. This research suggests the Hangul letter modification method which can modify letter effectively based on reusing the alphabets previously inputted. The Hangul modification system using "Jamo Modification Window" follows the composition principle of Hangul, and utilize the already inputted alphabets. It can be applicable to the existing input system without any modification using only "Jamo Modification Window". Especially, this system is very useful on smart phone with small screen.

한글’은지구상문자중에서가장과학적이고독창적인글자다. 이정의에대해누구도섣불리부인하지못할것이다. 지구상의문자들을보면낱자를일렬로나열해 사용하거나, 뜻을가진낱글자하나씩을사용하는방식의문자가대부분이다. 한글처럼자음과모음이논리적으로조합되고창의적으로생성돼하나의음절을이루 는글자는찾아볼수없다. 한글의원리를하나씩이해해나가다보면조상들의뛰어난창의력에저절로감탄이나온다. ‘ 생각’은‘ 언어’를통해서하게되며, 이언어 를기록하고전달하기위해서는‘ 문자’라는가시적인기호가필요하다. 이번호에서는민족의얼을담고있는우리말‘ 한글’이모바일환경에서어떤모습으로나타 나는지알아보고자한다.

본 논문에서는 Windows 환경에서 동작하는 문서 편집기상에서 사용자의 명령을 음성으로 입력받아 글자 크기 및 화면의 이동속도를 조절하는 시스템을 연구하였다. 입력된 명령으로부터 추론된 글자 크기 값을 중심으로 font size 변경 범위를 1/2씩 줄여감으로써 사용자가 만족하는 글자 크기로 접근해 가는 방법을 사용하였다. 화면의 이동 속도는 사용자가 선택한 명령 부근에서는 원하는 이동 속도로 근접할 것이라는 개념을 도입하여 사용자가 원하는 속도로 접근하는 방법을 사용하였다.

정보사회의 주 도구인 컴퓨터에서 한글처리의 불완전함으로 인하여 한국인의 사고 체계는 부분적으로 제약을 받고 있다. 이것은 지적 노동 생산성을 저해할 뿐만 아니라 컴퓨터로 표현할 수 없는 글자는 장기적으로 사용이 뜸해져서 결국 사라지게 될 수도 있다. 본 논문은 컴퓨터가 한국인의 사고력을 높여주고 지적 노동 생산성을 극대화할 도구가 될 수 있도록 마치 연필로 글을 쓸 때처럼 자유스럽게 글자를 임의로 조합할 수 있게 하는데 역점을 가지고, 이를 위하여 훈민정음 원리를 적용하여 천지자연의 글자를 표현한다는 원리를 구현함으로써 연필 컴퓨터에 관한 한 가지 구현을 하였다.

이광오[1]의 연구를 바탕으로 한글 필기 행동의 설명을 시도하였다. 한글 필기에 나타나는 실수에는 예기, 지속, 부가, 생략 등의 유형이 있었으며, 실수에 개입되는 단위로는 단어, 글자, 자모가 인정되었다. 필기에 필요한 기본단위로 글자표상을 가정하고, 심성어휘집에서의 부분적 표기정보 인출과 음소-자모 변환에 의해 글자표상이 생성되는 필기행동 모형에 대해 고찰하였다.

글자체(폰트)는 저작권으로 보호받지 못하지만 글자(폰트)프로그램은 저작권법 컴퓨터 프로그램 보호 규정에 따라 저작물로 보호된다. 저작권법이 글자체 그 자체는 보호하지 않지만, 컴퓨터프로그램으로 보호하는 양극간의 괴리 때문에 폰트 제작 회사가 무리한 법적용을 폰트 사용 편집회사들에게 주장하는 경우가 자주 발생하고 있다. 본고에서는 폰트 프로그램의 저작권 적용 범위를 확인하고 위반이 되는 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우를 구별한 뒤, 폰트 제작 회사의 실제 사례를 예로 들어 문제점을 밝혀보기로 한다.
