플랭크 운동 시 지지면의 형태가 복부 근육의 두께 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Support Surface Form on Abdominal Muscle Thickness During Flank Exercise)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the plank exercise to strengthen the core muscles on the muscle thickness of external and internal obliques and transverse abdominis muscle depending on the form of the support surface. Methods: This study was randomized to 12 males and 12 females in their 20s and conducted three times a week for 4 weeks. The subjects were divided into the two groups and performed flank exercise on a stable surface (stable surface group) and an unstable surface (unstable surface group). A mat was used as a stable surface, and an TOGU used as a unstable surface. Results : In both stable and unstable surface, the thickness changes of the transverse abdominis and external and internal oblique muscle increased (p<.05). In the unstable surface, there was a greater increase in the thickness change of the transverse abdominis and external oblique muscles in the flank exercise than in the stable surface (p.<05). Among them, the greatest increase was found in the external abdominal muscle (p<.05). Conclusion : This study found that the flank exercise was more effective in strengthening the abdominal muscles on an unstable surface, when compared with the outcomes on a stable one. It is also thought to have the most effect on the muscle activity of the external oblique muscle on unstable surface.

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to find out how changes in knee angles in stable and unstable support surfaces affect the muscle thickness of core muscles. Methods: The subjects of this study were 25 male adult. Each knee angle of 120, 90 and 60 degrees, they were performed bridge exercise on the stabilized surface and on the unstable support surface using TOGU, and measured the muscle thickness of the external and internal oblique muscle and the abdominal muscles through ultrasound images. Results: There was no significant difference between the thickness of the rectus abdominis and the internal oblique muscle depending on the support surface and the knee joint bending angles. However, there was a significant difference between the external oblique muscle and the transverse abdominis muscle by knee joint flexion angle. Conclusion: While the muscle thickness of the core muscle was not significantly affected by each support surface during the bridge exercise, there were significant changes in the core muscle as a result of changes in knee angle.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 7Hz vibration on the thickness of the rectus femoris, medial femur, rectus femoris tendon, and Achilles tendon. Methods: The statistical methods before and after working around the average value of each of the legs included repeated measures ANOVA. The subjects were 26 males residing in the N area, and we measured the change in muscle thickness and tendon thickness before, four weeks, and eight weeks after the experiment in two groups of 13 subjects each. The analysis method was a two-way repeated measurement variance analysis (ANOVA) with a significance level of 0.05 Results: The rectus femoris, medial broad muscle, rectus femur, and Achilles tendon showed significant increases in the interaction between the periods as well as between the periods and groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: As a result of this study, the 7Hz vibration had a positive effect on the thickness of the rectus femoris and the vastus medialis muscle as well as the thickness of the rectus femoris tendon and Achilles tendon. It is expected to be used as basic data for vibrational exercises in the future studies and is expected to be used as an exercise to strengthen the leg muscles and tendons.

비디오 컨텐츠를 사용한 홈 트레이닝이 만성 허리 통증이 있는 대학생의 배근육 두께, 허리기능 및 통증에 미치는 영향 (The effect of home training using video contents on abdominal muscle thickness, Oswestry disability index, and pain in students with chronic low back pain)

  • PURPOSE: This study examined the effect of training using video content on abdominal muscle thickness, Oswestry disability index (ODI), and pain in college students with chronic back pain. METHODS: Twenty-nine college students with chronic back pain participated in this study. The subjects were assigned randomly to 15 experimental groups who trained using video content and 14 control groups who exercised voluntarily using back exercise leaflets. The video used for the intervention was obtained from YouTube, and the difficulty level of the video was classified into six levels. Both groups participated in the intervention for 40 minutes/day, three times a week for six weeks, and the variables of abdominal muscle thickness, ODI, and pain were compared before and after the intervention. RESULTS: In the experimental group, there were statistically significant changes in the thickness of the internal oblique and transverse abdominis muscles, ODI, and pain after the intervention, except for the external oblique muscle (p < .05). In the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in all variables after the intervention (p > .05). A statistically significant difference in all variables was observed between the experimental group and the control group after the intervention except for the external oblique muscle (p < .05). CONCLUSION: Treatment of chronic low back pain using video content is a possible alternative treatment if quality images are selected and the difficulty levels are adjusted.

혈류제한 후 일반적 운동이 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 몸통 근육 두께에 미치는 영향 (Effects of General Exercise after Blood Flow Restriction on Trunk Muscles Thickness for Children with Spasticity Cerebral Palsy)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of general exercise after blood flow restriction on trunk muscles thickness in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods: Twenty children with cerebral palsy were assigned randomly to an experimental (n = 10) or a control (n = 10) group. The experimental group performed general exercise after blood flow restriction, while the control group performed general exercise alone. The study used an ultrasonic instrument to measure trunk muscles thickness. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to determine differences before and after treatment, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used to determine differences between treatment groups. Results: From a comparison within the groups, the experimental and control groups showed significant difference in trunk muscle thickness after the experiment (p < 0.05). In a comparison between the two groups, the experimental group showed more significant difference in trunk muscle thickness than the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Based on these results, general exercise after blood flow restriction effectively improves trunk muscle thickness in children with cerebral palsy.

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of bridge exercise combined with vibration on abdominal muscle thickness. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: As study subjects, 24 adults in their 20s were classified into 12 vibration bridge exercise groups and 12 bridge exercise groups. The time was divided into before the experiment, 3 weeks after the experiment, and 6 weeks after the experiment. Two-way repeated ANOVA was used to examine changes in the muscle thickness of the external oblique, internal oblique, and transverse abdominal muscles of the trunk muscles, and the significance level was set at 0.05. If there was an interaction between time and group, post-hoc analysis was performed, and the significance level was set at 0.01. Results: There was a significant difference in the external oblique muscle in the change by period, the interaction between time and group, and the change between groups (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in the external oblique muscle in the change by period, the interaction between time and group, and the change between groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result of this study, bridge exercise combined with vibration had a positive effect on the muscle thickness of the external oblique, internal oblique, and transversus abdominis muscles. It suggests the possibility of using the basic data of vibration exercise and the lumbar stabilization exercise in clinical practice.

몸통 회전을 이용한 교각운동이 정상 성인의 몸통 근육 두께에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Bridge Exercise with Trunk Rotation on Trunk Muscle Thickness in Healthy Adults)

  • Background: This study examined the effects of the bridge exercise with trunk rotation on the thickness of body trunk muscles, including external oblique, internal oblique, and transverse abdominis in healthy male adults. Design: Randomized controlled trial Methods: Twenty-four men were evenly divided into a trunk rotation bridge exercise group and a basic bridge exercise group by drawing lots. The two groups performed the respective exercise for thirty minutes, three times a week for six weeks. repeated measure analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used after distinguishing between three different time points before the experiment, three weeks after the experiment, and six weeks after the experiment. The significance level was set at 0.05. In case an interaction between time and group existed, the paired t-test was used to examine the within-group difference. The independent-sample t-test was used to check the between-group difference. The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: All the men showed a significant change over time in their external oblique, internal oblique, and transverse abdominis muscles. An interaction between time and group was also found (p<0.05). Conclusion: The bridge exercise with trunk rotation causes a meaningful difference in the thickness of external oblique, internal oblique, and transverse abdominis muscles. Therefore, this study proposes the use of this exercise for lower-back stabilization in future research and clinical settings.

한국산 도토리거위벌레(Cyllorhynchites ursulus) 구기의 해부학적 관찰과 유사종과의 큰턱 비교 연구 (Anatomical observation of the mouthpart of Cyllorhynchites ursulus and comparison with other species)

  • 도토리거위벌레는 큰턱을 이용하여 도토리에 구멍을 뚫고 가지를 자르는 독특한 행동을 한다. 이러한 행동을 이해하기 위해 다양한 현미경을 이용하여 구기의 해부학적 특징을 관찰하였다. 실체현미경을 이용한 연구에서는 도토리거위벌레 수컷의 평균 내전건과 외전건의 두께는 각각 32.87 ㎛, 53.83 ㎛이었고, 암컷의 평균 내전건과 외전건의 두께는 각각 40.81 ㎛, 75.55 ㎛이었다. 내전건과 외전건의 유의한 두께 차이로 인해 큰턱을 닫는 힘보다 벌리는 힘이 더 강하다는 것을 유추할 수 있다. 광학현미경을 이용한 관찰에서는 주둥이 안쪽에 위치한 내전건과 외전건의 너비 차이와 큰턱 쪽에서는 원형으로 위치하며 두부로 갈수록 납작해져 두부 외피 안쪽에 근육으로 연결된다는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 내전건의 위치와 모양의 변화에 대한 관찰을 수행하였다. 전자현미경을 통한 연구에서는 외전건이 내전건보다 더 굵으며 이로 인해 큰턱을 안쪽으로 당기는 힘보다 바깥쪽으로 밀어내는 힘이 더 크다는 것을 확인하였다. 관찰 결과를 바탕으로, 도토리거위벌레, 밤바구미, 왕거위벌레의 큰턱의 형태와 이빨의 위치 그리고 큰턱의 움직임에 대해 비교 분석하였고, 도토리거위벌레가 보여주는 특징적인 행동은 해부학적/형태적 특징과 연관되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

비육돈의 도체형질과 MYL2, ADCYAP1R1 유전자 다형성의 상관관계 (Genetic Polymorphisms of MYL2 and ADCYAP1R1 Genes and Their Association with Carcass Traits in Finished Pigs)

  • 비육 출하돈 집단에서 MYL2 intron 5 A345G와 ADCYAP1R1 intron 2 A337G에 대한 유전자형의 분포와 도체형질과의 연관관계를 분석하였다. 조사에 이용된 두 유전자 모두 3가지 유전자형이 모두 출현하였으며, 빈도는 각각 MYL2에서 AA 10.6%, AG 45.6%, GG 43.8%, ADCYAP1R1에서 AA 60.5%, AG 34.6%, GG 22.2%로 확인되었다. MYL2 유전자형 중 G 대립인자를 보유한 돼지(-G)의 도체중과 등지방두께는 AA 동형접합자형을 보유한 도체보다 2.4kg 이상 더 무겁고, 1.3mm 이상 등지방두께가 더 두꺼운 경향을 보이고(p<0.05), 근내지방도, 육색, 조직감, 수분삼출도, 근육분리도에서는 유의차를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). ADCYAP1R1의 유전자형 중 GG 동형접합자형인 도체에서는 조직감이 다소 떨어지는 경향을 보였으며, AA 동형접합자의 수분삼출도가 다소 높은 수준을 나타내었으나(p<0.05), 도체중, 등지방두께, 근내지방, 육색, 근육분리도에는 유의차를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 돼지에서 MYL2 A345G와 ADCYAP1R1 A337G의 유전자형이 비육 출하돈의 도체형질에 어느 정도 영향을 주고 있으나, 유전자의 기능에 직접적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 염기변이의 탐색 등 다양한 연구가 수반되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

산민달팽이(Incilaria fruhstorferi) 수정관 내강 상피조직의 계절에 따른 미세구조적 변화 (Ultrastructural Changes of the Vas Deferens Epithelium by Season in a Slug Incilaria fruhstorferi)

  • 산민달팽이(Incilaria fruhstorferi)의 웅성생식기관인 수정란을 봄과 여름 등 계절별로 나누어 관찰한 결과는 다음과 같았다. 산민달팽이 봄개체의 수정관은 0.4mm정도의 근육질로 구성된 관상구조물로, 내강은 3갈래로 갈라져 있고, 전체 모습은 팔랑개비형태와 같았다. 그러나 여름개체인 경우에도 역시 근육질의 관상구조물로 구성되어 있었으나 내강은 4갈래로 갈라져 있었다. 광학현미경 관찰에서 수정란의 내강상피세포는 불규칙한 형태로서, 세포들은 m-b 이중염색에서 강한 methlenophilia를 보이거나, 반응 업는 밝은 부분이 교대로 배열되어 나타나는 현상을 보였다. 그러나 여름개체의 수정관 내강상피세포는 비교적 규칙적인 세포들로 배열되어 있으며 m-b 이중염색체에서 세포들은 강한 methlenophilia를 나타낸 봄개체와는 달리 밝게 관찰되어 서로 다른 양상을 보였다. 전자현미경 관찰에서도 봄개체의 내강세포는 불규칙한 섬모원주상피세포로서 전자밀도는 매우 높아 검게 관찰되고 이들이 소지한 핵도 그 형태가 불규칙하였으며, 세포들은 다양한 크기의 원형 또는 타원형의 공포들로 가득차 있었다. 반면, 여름개체의 내강세포는 키가 큰 섬모원주 상피세포와 섬모원형 상피세포 그리고 불규칙형 세포들로 이루어져 있었는데 세포들은 전자밀도가 낮아서 모두 밝게 관찰되고 포식작용이 활발한 몇 개의 용해소체만이 관찰될 뿐이었다. 또한 수정관의 내강은 계절에 관계없이 모두 각각 400$\mu$m 두께의 두터운 환상근육층으로 둘러싸여 있었는데 특히 여름개체의 환상근육층 사이에는 비교적 타원형의 vesicular cell이 관찰되고, 이들은 m-b이중염색체에서 약한 basophilia를 나타내었다. 그러나 봄개체에서는 vesicular cell 대신 원형의 결과과립들만이 관찰되어 두 개체 사이에 서로 다른 양상을 보였다.
