Design and Verification of a Injector using Gas Methane and LOx as Propellants (가스메탄/액체산소를 추진제로 하는 인젝터 설계 및 설계 검증)

  • A coaxial swirl/shear injector using GCH4/LOx as propellants was degisned and manufactured. Flow analysis by Fluent was performed to decide the number of orifice and the rear shapes of inlet orifice etc. Flow rate of the injector was measured according to differential pressure and uniformity of injector's spray pattern was confirmed by a patternator. The results showed that the difference of flow rate was around 10% and the spray angle of oxidizer was $66^{\circ}$.

  • 본 연구에서는 고정하상 직하류부에서 발생하는 국부세굴현상을 분석하기 위해서 이동상 수리실험을 수행하였다. 순환식 유량공급이 가능한 개수로 실험장치에 아크릴로 제작된 사각형 모형을 설치하고 하류에 균일한 입경의 모래를 설치하여 다양한 수리조건과 시간변화에 따른 하상고의 변화를 측정하였다. 그리고 측정된 하상고 자료로부터 시간별 최대세굴심의 크기를 산정하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 세굴심의 상류부 경사는 일정한 값으로 유지되었고, 최대세굴심과 세굴공 길이, 최대세굴심 발생거리는 시간변화에 따라 증가폭이 점차적으로 감소하였다. 또한 세굴심의 시간변화식의 기울기와 경계지점에서의 수심평균 상대난류강도값과의 관계를 분석하였다. 세굴공 내에서는 하상근처에서 후류가 발생하고, 수심방향으로 유속편차가 극심하게 증가하는 분리전단층이 발생하였다. 본 연구에서 분석된 최대세굴심의 시간적 변화양상과 세굴심 내부에서 발생하는 흐름 및 난류강도 분포특성을 보다 면밀히 분석하여 세굴심의 발달에 영향을 미치는 인자를 이용하여 향후 적절한 세굴심의 예측식을 개발할 수 있고, 최대세굴심을 저감할 수 있는 방안을 제안할 수 있다.

Effect of Mixer Structure on Turbulence and Mixing with Urea-water Solution in Marine SCR System (선박용 SCR 시스템에서 혼합기 구조에 따른 난류유동과 우레아 수용액의 혼합특성)

  • To improve the flow and mixing characteristics of marine SCR system, two different mixer including up-down and swirl type mixer were considered. The purpose of this study is to analyse turbulence intensity and uniformity index in detail and to improve the performance of SCR with respect to the mixer structure. The results showed that, the concentration uniformity index is improved by about 5% with the utilization of both mixers in the front of catalyst part. Although the RMS value and relative turbulence intensity increased after the up-down type mixer, it could observed that the value of two parameters decreased with the flow proceeding forward to the downstream. For the case of swirl type mixer, the decrease of RMS value and relative turbulence intensity were relatively smaller than that of up-down type mixer, and uniform distribution of relative turbulence intensity was observed. As a results, it could be concluded that the mixing effects and the distance of the two kinds of mixer were different.

Influence of Openings on the Structural Behavior of Shear Walls with Slabs (슬래브가 있는 전단벽의 구조적 거동에 대한 개구부의 영향)

  • An experimental investigation was conducted with half-scale representations of the reinforced concrete shear walls with the opening subjected to cyclic loads. Specimens were half scale representations of a one-story wall in the apartment built in 1980. The area ratio of the opening section, as well as the size and critical section of coupling slabs, were decided based on results from a previous researches. The test result of WS-0.23 specimen, which has artificial damages to install the opening, the strength of the wall decreased due to the opening. It is apparent that influence of cutting reinforcing bars and decrease of effective section area lead to early first yield of the reinforcing bars before the allowable limit of drift ratio of the shear walls was reached. Therefore, proper reinforcing method is needed to prevent this. The decrease of strength of the shear walls by installation of openings shows a great deal of difference compared to previous researches. This is because flexural capacity of the slabs is working as coupling elements for the shear walls. The critical section of coupling slabs that works as coupling elements for shear walls was a little different from the results of previous researches.

A Laboratory Study on Erosional Properties of the Deposit Bed of Kaolinite Sediments (고령토 퇴적저면의 침식특성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the erosional parameters for deposit beds were quantitatively estimated domestically for the first time through the erosion tests using an annular flume. Four erosion tests were carried out for the deposit beds with different consolidation structures, which were obtained by consolidating the kaolinite slurries for a given time durations. Results of erosion tests showed that the bed shear strength ${\tau}_s$ increased with the consolidation time and bed depth. The erosion rate ${\epsilon}$ was also shown to be related well with the excess shear stress ${\tau}_b-{\tau}_s$ which was given by the difference between flow shear stress ${\tau}_b$ and bed shear strength ${\tau}_s$. While the logarithm of the erosion rate was linearly related with the excess shear stress as ${\tau}_b-{\tau}_s{\geq}0.1N/m^2$, however, the erosion rate decreased rapidly with it when ${\tau}_b-{\tau}_s{\leq}0.1N/m^2$. These erosion test results were also shown to be good enough to verify by comparing with the test results from previous studies and a new equation was suggested to describe the erosion rate more well in the region of ${\tau}_b-{\tau}_s{\leq}0.1N/m^2$.

Displacement Characteristics of Soft Ground by Embankment Construction (제방축조에 의한 연약지반의 변위특성)

  • In this study, the centrifugal tests were fulfilled to analyze the displacement characteristics caused by the embankment construction on soft ground. Embankment of height, undrained shear strength and with or without geotextile were selected to evaluate the displacement characteristics of soft ground by embankment. As a result, the replacement section without geotextile showed the parabola shape. The replacement section with geotextile showed the trapezoidal shape which represents the uniform settlements. The replacement angle is increasing nearly lineally with increasing the height of embankment and G-level. The position, where the maximum horizontal displacement occurred, was between $0.24H_0$ and $0.35H_0$ and was at $0.3H_0$ on the average. In the case of with and without geotextile, the relationship between the maximum settlement of ground(S) and maximum horizontal displacement(${\delta}_m$) was ${\delta}_m$ = 0.60S, ${\delta}_m$ = 0.54S, respectively.

A Laboratory Study on Erosional Properties of the Deposit Bed of Saemankeum Sediments (새만금 점착성 퇴적물의 퇴적저면 침식특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the erosional properties of deposit bed for the natural sediments are quantitatively estimated domestically for the first time using annular flume. Four erosion tests for Saemankeum sediments have been carried out on different consolidation time. Experimental results of erosional tests show that shear strength ${\tau}_s$ increases with the increases of consolidation time and bed depth. The erosion rate increases logarithmically with the increases of exceed shear strength ${\tau}_b-{\tau}_s$. But, the erosion rate decreases rapidly with the decreases of exceed shear strength under the $0.2N/m^2$. Experimental results of this study are found to be remarkably different in quantity as compared with those for results of previous study.

  • Currently, Induction welding is attracting attention as a non-contact, clean and fast welding process. However, since thermoplastic resins are not affected by electromagnetic fields, induction welding requires a heating element called a susceptor. Researches are being conducted with the aim of achieving high-quality bonding, however, the factor of a heating element is an issue, hence the need to set a standard. Specimen fabrication and testing are conducted according to ASTM D5868. In this study, we propose that the evaluation criteria be judged on the basis of three factors; the condition of the welded joint surface, void content, and lap shear strength. Since the adhesive surface to be welded melts and solidifies as it cools, rapid temperature changes can generate pores. In addition, if the heating is not uniform, it is difficult to expect the desire performance. Using PA6 (CF 30%) thermoplastic, susceptor fabrication, induction welding and performance verification were conducted.

Behavior of High-elastic Stress Absorbing Interlayer for Reflective Cracking Resistance (고탄성 응력흡수층의 반사균열 저항특성 연구)

  • This study was conducted to develop the interlayer mixture that absorbs the stress between the old concrete pavement and the asphalt overlay pavement layer. The elasticity, the flexibility, the consistency and the impermeability is required for high-elastic Stress Absorbing Interlayer(HSAI) to absorb and disperse the stress that causes the flexural and horizontal movements of the joint and the crack. The HSAI developed from foreign product was satisfied with the design criteria. The specimens using the HSAI showed the significant reduction of the reflective crack compared those not using the HSAI. The significance included that the life of shear failure and horizontal displacement resistance increased 4 times. The life of the share failure increased to 5 times and the horizontal displacement increased to 9 times according to the selection of surface course material which showed the excellence of the HSAI.
