The Experimental Study on the Anti-allergic Effects of Bojungikgi-tang (보중익기탕이 알레르기반응에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적연구)

  • This experimental research has been done to study the effects of Bojungikgi-tang(BJIKT) on the anti-allergic reaction. We found the several important results from the research which has been performed by two experiments toward immediately type and delayed type in order to study the effects of BJIKT on hypersensitivity response to mice. The results obtained from our research are as following: 1. The survival rate of one group to which we injected only the compound 48/80 is almost 0% according to its density and timing test. In the other hand, the survival rates of the other group to which we injected both of the compound 48/80 and BJIKT are 20%, 10%, 30%, 10%, 40%, and 70% according to 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.25 0.5 and 1(mg/g) of compound 48/80. Time dependency test also shows the 10% and 0% survival rates in 5 and 10 minutes. 2. BJIKT revealed the significantly inhibitory effect on Compound 48/80 induced Mast cell degranulation. 3. BJIKT showed the significantly inhibitory effect in the delayed type hypersensitivity response to picryl chloride. 4. BJIKT showed the significantly inhibitory effect in the delayed type hypersensitivity response to sheep red blood tell. Our research provides the important evidence that BJIKT is benificial to the prevention and treatment of allergy related diseases.

Pharmacodynamic Study of Silkworm Powder in Mice Administered to Maltose, Sucrose and Lactose (누에분말 추출물의 이당류 경구투여에 대한 동력학적 연구)

  • The experiment was carried out to investigate the absorption profile of blood glucose in mice administered to silkworm powder MeOH extract. The mice was injected to oral load of maltose, sucrose and lactose(2 g/kg) and silkworm powder MeOH extract at the same time. After injecting the sample, blood glucose concentration was measured at 0, 30, 60, 120, 180 and 240 minutes. Blood glucose lowering effect of silkworm powder for loading maltose was 69% in postprandial 30 minutes. After the postprandial 60 minutes, the glucose was absorbed slowly. Total amount of blood glucose absorption in mice administered to maltose were 560.7 mg/dl during 240 minutes. That of silkworm powder MeOH extract marked 534.7 mg/dl. Total amount of blood glucose from oral loading sucrose reached to 508.9 mg/dl. That of loading silkworm powder MeOH extract were 468.8. But, silkworm powder was not inhibited lactose absorption. As a above results, silkworm powder inhibits the transient rising of blood glucose after postprandial 30 minuts through inhibition of ${\alpha}$-glucosidases. In case of starvation silkworm powder don't promote the hypoglycemia. In addition, silkworm powder induces the delay absorption of glucose without loss of it.

  • In this paper, we consider the military requirement, study the military network services and their related traffic parameters, evaluate the performance the experimental army network and then suggest the design guideline of applying VoIP to the whole military. We evaluate the performance of the delay and loss in the viewpoint of packet and call levels for the several scenarios. First, the performances of separate network service were considered and the satisfaction of the requirement was obtained. Secondly, the delays and losses of the integrated network services were calculated as the amount of the background traffic increases. Finally, based on the simulation results, we presented the design guideline which classified network configurations for applying VoIP equipment and helped estimate the number of VoIP terminals in the existing link.

  • 본 연구에서는 제방의 세굴이나 붕괴를 방지하기 위해 바이오폴리머(Biopolymer) 기반 신소재를 활용한 흙 제방의 보강공법을 제시하였다. 바이오폴리머 기반 제방의 보강공법은 흙과 바이오폴리머를 소량만 섞어도 흙의 강도 증진시킴과 동시에 빗물에 대한 내침식성과 식생의 생장을 촉진하는 생태성도 뛰어나기 때문에 제방 사면을 보호할 수 있는 친환경적이고 효율적인 공법이다. 이에 안동하천연구센터는 실증실험을 통한 신소재 제방 보강공법의 안정성 검증을 목표로 2 건의 월류붕괴 실험을 수행하였다. 첫 번째는 흙 제방 조건(Case 1)이며, 두 번째는 바이오폴리머 혼합 토양을 사면에 도포한 후 식생이 활착된 조건(Case 2)이다. 제방 붕괴에 따른 수로 내 수위변화를 측정하기 위해 압력식 수위계를 설치하였으며, 영상분석을 위한 다수의 카메라 및 드론을 활용하여 실험의 전 과정을 실시간 촬영하였다. 또한, 제내지 측 사면을 대상으로 월류에 따른 붕괴 지연효과를 정량적으로 제시하기 위해 이미지 픽셀 변화 측정 기법을 통한 시간에 따른 표면 손실률을 산정하였다. 흙 제방과 신소재 처리 제방의 시간에 따른 표면손실률을 비교한 결과, Case 2의 사면손실률이 Case 1에 비해 약 1.5~2.3 배 지연되는 것을 확인하였다. 하지만 단일 조건만으로 실험군과 비교군의 붕괴지연 결과가 제방 성능을 평가함에 있어서 일반화될 수 없으므로 이러한 정량적 평가는 다소 한계가 있다. 향후 이러한 부족한 부분을 해결하기 위한 노력과 다양한 조건의 추가실험을 통한 계측 데이터 및 붕괴지연시간의 평균값을 도출하여 신소재 제방의 안정성을 평가하기 위한 타당한 결과를 도출할 예정이다.

Delayed closure effect in preterm infants with patent ductus arteriosus (미숙아 동맥관개존증의 지연된 폐쇄가 예후에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : This study aims to determine whether early closure (within 7 d) of significant patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) with indomethacin or ligation reduces neonatal morbidity when compared with delayed closure (after 7 d). Methods : Fifty-eight extremely-low-birth-weight infants admitted to the NICU of Seoul National University Hospital from April 2005 to May 2007 with PDA were studied retrospectively. Results : The mean gestational age (GA) was $26{\pm}2weeks$ (range, 23-32 wk), and the birth weight was $782{\pm}146g$ (range, 430-990 g). The delayed closure group was associated with early GA ($25.7{\pm}1.7wk$ vs $27.1{\pm}2.0wk$, P=0.013), in vitro fertilization (IVF) (55% vs 24%, P=0.017), and the absence of preeclampsia (5% vs. 34%, P=0.013). There was no difference in ductal size between the early closure and delayed closure groups. The incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (95% vs 65%, P=0.012) and intraventricular hemorrhage (70% vs. 39%, P=0.027) increased in the delayed closure group. Using regression analysis adjusted for gestational age, delayed closure correlated positively with the duration of ventilator support (P=0.008), hospitalization (P=0.020), time to full enteral feeding (P<0.001), and total parenteral nutrition (P=0.010). Conclusion : Delayed closure of the hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus in extremely-low-birth-weight infants is significantly related to the development of various morbidities. Thus, early closure of PDA is needed within the first week of life.

Analysis and Utilization of the Power Delay Profile Characteristics of Dispersive Fading Channels (시간 지연을 갖는 페이딩 채널의 전력 지연 분포 특성 분석 및 활용)

  • Applying an appropriate received signal processing algorithm based on the channel characteristics is important to improve the receiver performance. Wireless channels in general exhibit various time-delay characteristics depending on their power delay profile. When the estimated channel power summation is used to determine the amount of time delay, a channel adaptive receiver structure can be implemented. In this paper, we derive a closed-form expression for the error probability of the channel classification when the estimated channel power summation is used to classify channel groups having different time delay characteristics, and present the performance gain utilizing multiple estimation results.

Delayed Mortality of Benthic Amphipods Monocorophium acherusicum Exposed to Various Pollutants in Seawater(Cd, Cu, Hg, TBT, Ammonia and Phenanthrene) (유해오염물질에 급성 노출된 단각류 Monocorophium acherusicum의 지연 사망률에 관한 연구)

  • 다양한 유해오염물질에 급성 노출된 단각류 Monocorphium acherusicum의 노출 기간 이후에 발생하는 지연 사망(latent mortality)이 반수치사농도(LC5O)산출에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하기 위한 일련의 실험이 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 실험생물을 카드뮴, 구리, 수은과 같은 중금속, tributyltin(TBT), 암모니아 그리고 방향성탄화수소인 phenanthrene에 각각 96시간 동안 노출시킨 후 깨끗한 해수에 옮겨 다시 6일 동안 배양하면서 사망률을 조사하였다. 실험결과 구리, TBT, 암모니아, phenanthrene과 같은 물질에 노출된 M. acherusicum의 사망률은 노출이 끝난 이후에도 계속적으로 증가하는 지연 사망이 관찰되었으며, 이에 따라 기존의 방법_으로 산출된 96-h LC50보다 지연 사망을 고려한 새로운 LC50이 크게 낮아지는 경향이 관찰되었다. 지연사망률을 고려하지 않은 기존의 독성시험 결과는 지연 사망의 영향을 반영하지 못하므로 실제 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 오염물질의 영향을 과소평가 할 가능성이 있다. 따라서 지연 사망률에 대한 고려는 실제 현장 개체군에 대한 유해오염물질의 영향을 보다 정화하게 예측하는 데에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Analysis of body surface temperature by Pulsed Magnetic Fields system for evaluation of therapeutic effect of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (지연성 근육통증 회복 평가를 위한 경혈 부위에서의 자기장자극에 대한 체열변화 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a Pulsed Magnetic Fields(PMFs) system which can produce effects locally and simulate muscular tissues equally. To evaluate the PMFs system we caused DOMS(Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) to subjects in biceps of the arm. Then, we stimulated acupoint HT2 using PMFs(20 minutes) and TEAS(20 minutes) for 2 days. The other subjects did not stimulate. Then we checked body surface temperature in biceps of the arm. All subjects had an asymmetrical body surface temperature in biceps after exercise(Non-stimulation group=$2.00{\pm}1.16^{\circ}C$, TEAS group=$1.73{\pm}0.52^{\circ}C$, PMFs group=$1.48{\pm}0.51^{\circ}C$). After 1st stimulation all subjects had decreased temperature differences(Non-stimulation group=$1.37{\pm}0.71^{\circ}C$, TEAS group=$1.08{\pm}0.43^{\circ}C$, PMFs group=$1.23{\pm}0.15^{\circ}C$). PMFs group had a symmetry body surface temperature after 24 hours($0.05{\pm}0.06^{\circ}C$) and TEAS group had that after 48 hours($0.1{\pm}0.08^{\circ}C$). Non-stimulation group did not recovery after 48 hours($0.37{\pm}0.06^{\circ}C$). Therefore, PMFs on acupoint had an therapeutic effect in DOMS.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 치주질환에 이환된 성견의 치근을 활택술 후 발치와에 이식하였을 때 calcium sulfate 골이식이 치근흡수와 치근유착을 지연시키는가를 알아보고자 하는 것이다.성견의 제2, 제3 소구치 주위의 치조골을 제거하여 분지부를 노출시키고, 8주간 교정사를 결찰하여 실험적 만성치주염을 유발하였다. 치관을 제거하고, 치근을 반분하고, 활택한 후 발치하였다. 발치된 치근을 둘로 나누어 각각을 우측에는 calcium sulfate와 함께, 좌측에는 이식재 없이 이식하였다. 12주간의 치유 후 조직학적으로 관찰하였다. 대조군에서는 흠의 치관쪽으로 치근흡수와 치근유착이 일어났고, 실험군에서는 성견 결합조직과 calcium sulfate가 위치하였던 공간이 관찰 되었고 치근흡수는 지연되었다. 이 연구에 나타난 바에 의하면, 치근 이식시 calcium sulfate 의 사용은 치조골로부터의 육아조직을 배제하고 치근흡수와 치근유착을 지연할 수 있는 것으로 생각된다.

Effect of Dietary Fats and Tomato on the Immune Functions of BALB/c Mice (식이지방과 토마토가 BALB/c 마우스의 면역활성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of dietary fat and tomato on immune functions were investigated using BALB/c mice. Sixty male BALB/c mice weighing 16-17g were divided into two dietary groups. Control group was fed experimental chow (AIN-76 purified diet) supplemented with saturated fat (beef tallow) and unsaturated fat (safflower oil) at 5% level (weight basis), while treatment group was fed chow added with 0.5% (dry matter basis) of tomato (moisture content 95%) for 10 weeks. Organ weights, delayed-type hypersensitivity test, plaque-forming cell test, agglutination test, differential white cell count, and histological examination were performed at 4th, 7th, and 10th week after dietary treatment. Weight of spleen and spleen index of tomato group increased with increasing experimental period. Thymus index of tomato group was significantly higher than that of control group at 7 and 10 weeks (p<0.05). In delayed hypersensitivity test at 4th, 7th, and 10th week after dietary treatment, tomato group showed more significant increase in footpad swelling reaction 24 hr after challenge than control group (p<0.05). In plaque-forming cell test, tomato group fed 7 weeks increased more significantly than control group, while no significant difference was found between two groups at 10 weeks. Agglutination test decreased with increasing experimental period; tomato group at 10 weeks was higher than control group in antibody response to SRBC. In tomato group, Iympocyte percentage was slightly higher than that of control group, and spleen tissue showed active immune reaction caused by severe proliferation of white pulp.
