The competition environment among companies is rapidly expanding into the world market. Therefore, this study intended to suggest an analysis method of patent portfolio that can compare an international technological capacity through empirical analysis on the global automobile companies. This study measured international patent activity using triadic patent data of 20 years from 1991 to 2010, and measured patent quality from legal, technological and economic aspects. As a result, Ford and GM, automobile companies of America, are analyzed to be the potential leaders with greatly increased patent quality. The significance of this study is in measuring international patent activities between global companies from different countries based on the triadic patent. And, this study suggested methods of analyzing patent quality consistently from legal, technological and economic aspects based on the triadic patent.

This paper aims to contribute to estimating the value of a patent by explaining the unobservable attributes of patent quality using observable patent citation indices. The paper first constructs patent citation data and identifies firm, university, and research institute among assignees, and then tries to explain attributes of patent quality using backward citation indices. Backward citation indices carrying information about technological sources which a given patent is based on turn out to be good predictors of forward citation indices carrying information about attributes of patent quality. Finding the functional relationships between attributes of patent quality and backward citations will lead to the improved estimation and prediction of patent value. It is found out that backward citation indices are strongly correlated the technological diversity of a patent. The paper also suggests that with whom an organization chooses to collaborate affects the attributes of patent quality.

This study analyses patent information of apparel design using computer technology and researches the trend of patent application focused on International Patent Classification. In terms of trend by filling data, Patent application started first in 1974 and increased sharply in 1993 with 14 cases and increased to 25 cases in 2000. In case of Korea, they began somewhat late in 1996, but reached a similar level with the leading country in 2000. In terms of trend by applicant, Gerber Garment Technology, Inc. filed 7 cases TORAY IND INC, filed 6 cases Levi Strauss & Co. filed 4 cases, NEC HOME ELECTRONICS LTD filed 3 cases, TOYOBO CO LTD filed 3 cases. Japanese companies occupied 52% and United States's companies occupied 48%. In terms of trend by country, foreigner occupied 47% of the patents filed by United State. Japanese take up 10% of total patent of United States. Korean occupied 84% of total patent of Korea and foreigner, american occupied 16% of the patents filed by Korea. In regared to International Patent Classification, in the section level G filed 92 cases(53%). In class level, G06 marked the first place in United States, Japan, and Korea. In subclass level, G06F marksed the first place with 74 cases. G06T and A61B were regarded as the new technologies. The new technologies are representing the dimensions of garment or computer-rendered model, providing the virtual reality through the texture mapping, digital dressing room or virtual dressing, and performing or retriving display on a screen for the result of changing pattern ao dress design, The technologies of core patent are designing or producing custom manufactured item, providing or prealtering the data for pattern making and visually displaying, interactively generating or previewing of various articles.

본 논문은 기계학습을 통하여 특허문서를 국제 특허 분류(IPC) 기준에 따라 자동으로 분류하는 시스템에 관한 연구로 잠재 의미 색인 기법을 이용하여 분류의 성능을 높일 수 있는 방법을 제안하기 위한 연구이다. 종래 특허문서에 관한 IPC 자동 분류에 관한 연구가 단어 매칭 방식의 색인 기법에 의존해서 이루어진바가 있으나, 현대 기술용어의 발생 속도와 다양성 등을 고려할 때 특허문서들 간의 관련성을 분석하는데 있어서는 단어 자체의 빈도 보다는 용어의 개념에 의한 접근이 보다 효과적일 것이라 판단하여 잠재 의미 색인(LSI) 기법에 의한 분류에 관한 연구를 하게 된 것이다. 실험은 단어 매칭 방식의 색인 기법의 대표적인 자질선택 방법인 정보획득량(IG)과 카이제곱 통계량(CHI)을 이용했을 때의 성능과 잠재 의미 색인 방법을 이용했을 때의 성능을 SVM, kNN 및 Naive Bayes 분류기를 사용하여 분석하고, 그중 가장 성능이 우수하게 나오는 SVM을 사용하여 잠재 의미 색인에서 명사가 해당 용어의 개념적 의미 구조를 구축하는데 기여하는 정도가 어느 정도인지 평가함과 아울러, LSI 기법 이용시 최적의 성능을 나타내는 특이값의 범위를 실험을 통해 비교 분석 하였다. 분석결과 LSI 기법이 단어 매칭 기법(IG, CHI)에 비해 우수한 성능을 보였으며, SVM, Naive Bayes 분류기는 단어 매칭 기법에서는 비슷한 수준을 보였으나, LSI 기법에서는 SVM의 성능이 월등이 우수한 것으로 나왔다. 또한, SVM은 LSI 기법에서 약 3%의 성능 향상을 보였지만 Naive Bayes는 오히려 20%의 성능 저하를 보였다. LSI 기법에서 명사가 잠재적 의미 구조에 미치는 영향은 모든 단어들을 내용어로 한 경우 보다 약 10% 더 향상된 결과를 보여주었고, 특이값의 범위에 따른 성능 분석에 있어서는 30% 수준에 Rank 되는 범위에서 가장 높은 성능의 결과가 나왔다.

The object of this study is to present a strategy against technology protectionism of advanced countries focusing on international cooperation policy of KIPO and infringement of overseas intellectual property rights on the notion that a policy performed without a long-term plan will not lead to industrial growth in the long run. The number of dispute cases of intellectual property rights in Japan ranks first with 275 cases compared to that of other countries. Among the dispute case, the number of validation trial is 107 cases(38.9%), and correction trial is 83 cases(30.2%). The USA ranks second in dispute of intellectual property rights. Among the dispute of intellectual property rights in the USA, the number of validation trial is 66 cases(64.7%), and correction trial is 21 cases(20.6%). A strategy against technology protectionism of advanced countries is as follows. A strategy is required to cope with infringement of overseas intellectual property rights. Korean government has to strengthen the function of overseas intellectual property rights protection center, strengthen boundary restriction of infringement goods, promote international dispute study, train international dispute specialist, solve jurisdiction problem of patent court system, improve trial system, construct confidence as social capital etc. Enterprises have to maintain No Patent No Future policy, specialize on application and countermeasure against infringement dispute, participate for formation and standardization of Patent Pool, strive for specialization regarding technical transfer and license management.

In this Study, Social Network Analysis of IoT related patents in South Korea, China, and Japan was conducted from the viewpoint of patent informatics. To this end, 2,526 patents filed by PCT until December 2019 were investigated up to the subclass level of the IPC code. As a result, in the case of South Korea, representative IPC codes are in the order of G06Q, H04L, G06F, H04W, and the highest frequency of interconnection is H04L→H04W, H04W→H04L, H04W→H04B. In China, the representative IPC codes are in the order of H04L, H04W, G05B, G06Q. South Korea has strong technological convergence centered on the G06Q, while China has strong convergence centered around H04L and H04W. Moreover, in China, H04L and H04W have more diverse combinations than in South Korea in Section A, B, G, and H. In the future, it is necessary to study the diversity of technology convergence of H04L and H04W in China.

An analysis was conducted to predict technical trends for the highly efficient absorption refrigeration system. The study was based on submitted patent during January 1981 and December 2000 in Korea, Japan and U.S.A. The analysis are divided with two categories as component technology and refrigeration type technology. The analysis was focused on component technologies rather than the absorption cycle or system technologies.

Kodama 등 기술경영 분야의 연구자들은 IT와 같은 일반 목적기술은 다른 분야의 기술과 접목하여 새로운 기술기회를 창출하는 경향이 있다고 지적하고 있다. 따라서 시장가치가 큰 IT기반 융합기술을 발굴하는 것은 국가의 새로운 성장 동력을 발굴하는 시금석이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 세계 IT 기술시장을 선도하고 있는 미국의 특허 기술을 대상으로 유망 IT기반 부상융합기술 분야를 도출하였다. 분석 결과에 의하면 부상 융합기술은 국제특허분류의 main-group 수준에서 75개로 나타났으며, 그 중에서 가장 유망한 기술은 H01L21로 나타났다.

본 연구에서는 기술표준원이 (주)코리아데이터네트워크에 의뢰하여 작성된 설문조사결과를 활용하여 기업의 표준화활동 결정요인을 분석하였다. 표준화활동을 유형(혹은 범주)에 따라 기업의 전사적 표준경영, 국내표준화활동, 국제표준화활동, 인증획득 등으로 구분하였고, 그 결정요인으로 기술혁신활동(R&D와 특허출원), 기업규모, 수출, 네트워크, 기업조직특성, 산업별 특성 등을 고려하였다. 분석된 표본은 제조업에 속한 636개 기업으로 정성적 분석방법인 로지스틱 회귀모형 (logistic regression)을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째 기술혁신활동 변수 중 R&D집약도는 국제표준화활동을 제외하고 표준화활동에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특허출원은 전사적 차원에서의 표준경영과 인증획득활동에 대해 정 (+)의 유의한 효과를 보여 주었다. 셋째, 소기업과 대기업보다는 중간규모의 기업에서 전사적 차원에서의 표준경영과 인증획득활동이 활발하다는 역U자 가설이 성립하는 것으로 분석되었다. 넷째, 표준화에 대한 경영진의 관심은 모든 표준화활동의 유형에 대해서 중요한 결정요인으로 나타났다.
