  • Hydraulic test was conducted to evaluate the structural strength of valve exposed to high pressure environment during combustion progress. For the proof pressure, 1.05 times higher pressure than MEOP was applied in the hydraulic test. Two units of valves were used in the hydraulic test. The result for measured strain of the valve dependent on the pressurization conditions during the test were verified comparing with the results for the finite element analysis. Observing the difference between the results for the finite element analysis and the hydraulic test, the difference was within 20% error and the plastic deformation was not generated.

  • Plate Bearing Test(PBT) and California Bearing Ratio Test(CBR) usually have been used to evaluate the bearing capacity of sub-layer in pavement system. However, these tests have shortcomings for which man powers and time are spent greatly. Many researchers proposed a simple Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Test(DCP) to evaluate the bearing capacity of sub-layers in pavement system. This study performed several field bearing capacity tests(DCP, PBT, CBR, FWD) to evaluate field performance of DCP on sub-base and subgrade at four test sections simultaneously. The results showed that DCPI, $M_{FWD}$, and $PBT_K_{30}$ are highly correlated, but CBR and other test are not. This study proposed the following regression models between FWD, DCP, and PBT: $$M_{FWD}=993.10\Big(\frac{1}{DCPI}\Big)+33.95\;R^2=0.77$$ $$M_{FWD}=3.7533K_{30}+23.085\;R^2=0.69$$

  • Protocol testing techniques are expanded from the traditional simple function- testing based on the OSI model, to sophisticated performance testing, conformance testing and interoperability testing. In addition, both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint protocols are to be covered. This paper presents a new multiple-purpose protocol test system where the common platform includes the test sequence generation and test result analysis, and the modular test execution part is selectively adjusted according to the test purposes and protocols under test. This paper describes test system for network routing protocol and test system for transport protocol, designed upon the ideas of the multiple-purpose protocol test system.

  • For the quick rehabilitation of a fire-damaged tunnel structure, it is the most important procedure to investigate the fire-induced damaged zone rapidly. This study aims to propose a new drilling resistance testing method by which mechanical properties of tunnel concrete lining altered by high temperature can be estimated easily and continuously. Especially, it alms to derive the relationships to estimate mechanical properties of mortar and concrete materials from drilling parameters. To obtain the optimum testing condition, a series of drilling resistance tests were carried out for mortar specimens. When the rotation per minute of drill bit, tile penetration rate and the bit diameter were 1,300 rpm, 1.40 mm/sec, and 10 mm respectively, the deviation of measured drilling resistance forces was minimal. Under the optimum testing condition, the relationships between drilling resistance and mechanical properties of mortar specimens were shown to be very favorable. The concept of replacing a mean value of resistance farces measured during drilling with the resistance energy was proposed to consider the effects of randomly distributed aggregates inside a concrete material on drilling resistance. When the concept was applied to concrete materials, a favorable relationship between actual compressive strength and drilling resistance energy was also successfully derived.

  • For the purpose of fire delineation within buildings, steel walls in Korea are mandated to undergo rigorous certification as fire-resistant entities, substantiated via a series of qualitative assessments. Predominantly, these evaluations comprise the fire resistance test paired with supplementary examinations; specifically for steel walls, these encompass the gas hazard and panel bending strength tests. Given the prevalence of semi-noncombustible core materials, gas hazard tests are largely rendered superfluous, pivoting the focus solely onto the panel bending strength test during the certification trajectory. This particular test is designed to gauge the flexural robustness of individual wall panels. An enhanced bending strength is postulated to fortify both the structural integrity and thermal insulation of the wall by mitigating potential deformations. In this scholarly exploration, an analytical deep dive was undertaken into extant, valid certification test datasets. The endeavor aimed to ascertain the depth of correlation between the designated fire resistance metric and the bending strength, the latter being the sole supplementary assessment for steel walls. In distilling the findings, it was discerned that temperature elevations beyond baseline values exhibited no statistically salient linkage with the panel's bending strength.

  • In the case of launch vehicles using liquid fuel, natural frequency changes due to fuel consumption after launch, and a modal test is essential to investigate its effect. However, when relying on modal test to characterize the free vibration characteristics, the testing time is excessively increased and accuracy is reduced. Therefore, this paper suggests a modal test method with finite element analysis to overcome these drawbacks. A cylindrical structure filled with liquid are considered as a study model, and modal tests and finite element analyses are performed. The modal tests are conducted by an impulsive method using an impact hammer and accelerometers. Through the comparison of the modal test and the finite element analysis results, the validity of the proposed modal test method is verified. In addition, the free vibration characteristics and the tendency for the cylindrical structure according to the liquid filled ratio were investigated.

  • This study evaluated changes in fluidity and rheological properties over time for 3D printed composite materials, and evaluated compressive strength and splitting tensile strength properties for laminated and molded specimens. The composite material for 3D printing starts to change rapidly after 30 minutes of extrusion, and the viscosity of the material tends to be maintained up to 90 minutes, but it was confirmed that construction within 60 minutes after mixing is effective. The compressive strength of the laminated test specimen showed equivalent or better performance at all ages compared to the molded test specimen. In the stress-strain curve of the laminated specimen, the initial slope was similar to that of the molded specimen, but the descending slope was on average 1.9 times higher than that of the molded specimen, indicating relatively brittle behavior. The splitting tensile strength of the P-V laminated specimen was about 6% lower than that of the molded specimen. It is judged that this is because the interfacial adhesion force against the vertical load is affected by the pattern direction of the laminated test specimen.

  • In this study, the rheological characteristics and of 3D printing composite materials and the compressive strength characteristics according to the lamination patterns were evaluated. As a result of rheology test, rapid material change was observed after 60 minutes of extrusion, yielding stress 1.4 times higher than immediately after mixing, and plastic viscosity was 14.94-25.62% lower. The compressive strength of the specimens manufactured in the mold and the laminated specimens were compared, and the lamination pattern of the laminated specimens were 0°, 45°, and 90° as variables. The compressive strength of the mold casting specimen and the laminated specimen from 1 to 28 days of age showed similar performance regardless of the lamination pattern. In particular, at the age of 28 days, the modulus of elasticity, maximum compressive strength, and strain at maximum stress of all specimens were almost the same. In order to analyze the interface of the laminated specimens, X-ray CT analysis of the specimen whose compressive strength were measured was performed. Through CT analysis, it was confirmed that cracks did not occur at the lamination interface, which can be judged that the interface in the laminated specimen behaved in an integrated manner.
