CFD Investigation of Rocket Nozzle Plume for Flame Deflector Preliminary Analysis (화염유도로 예비 해석을 위한 로켓노즐 플룸의 CFD 해석 검증)

  • This paper investigates CFD investigation on single phase supersonic nozzle flow and 2-phase subson ic flow prior to rocket nozzle supersonic 2-phase flow with water injection within the flame deflector. Numerical results of supersonic nozzle single phase flow showed no notable unrealistic behavior as it captures the usual shock cell structures. Three-dimensional 2-phase flow analysis has also been performed to verify whether the approach can grab the droplet behavior during cooling by water injection. It is expected these basic studies will enhance the cooling problem analysis of supersonic 2-phase rocket plume in the future.

  • Differentiated services network (DiffServ) aims to provide the same service to a group of connections that have similar Quality of Service requirements. One of the essential function to realize DiffServ is the traffic conditioning mechanism. The paper proposes the enhanced traffic conditioning mechanism which can assure the reserved rates of TCP and UDP flows and support fair distribution of excess bandwidth. The simulation results show that the new mechanism is rather insensitive of the effect of UDP against TCP throughput, and performs better both in terms of throughput assurance and fair distribution of excess bandwidth in case of well-provisioned and over-provisioned network environment.

  • Korea has recently implemented two m메or policies on organic wastes, including food wastes. One is the Volume-Based waste Fee System (VBWFS). which went effect nationwide in January 1995, and the other is a ban on the landfill of organic wastes, such as food wastes. organic sludge, and animal manure, in accordance with the Waste Management Act. These two policies have brought about remarkable positive effects, including the reduction of organic wastes at source, and the development of technology for recycling food wastes into feed and compost. However, they have caused obstacles to carry out the policy on food wastes, in areas of legal and technological infrastructures for recycling. Therefore, this study intends to find problems of policies for recycling food wastes, and to suggest ways to resolve them.

  • We have modeled dust envelopes around silicate carbon stars using optical properties for a mixture of amorphous carbon and silicate dust grains paying close attention to the infrared observations of the stars. The 4 stars show various properties in chemistry and location of the dust shell. We expect that the objects that fit a simple detached silicate dust shell model could be in the transition phase of the stellar chemistry. For binary system objects, we find that a mixed dust chemistry model would be necessary.

  • A new absorption spectrum observed from dilute aqueous solutions of methylene blue(MB+) and tetraphenylborate(TPB) ions was investigated by spectrophotometry. The species responsible for the spectrum can be a charge-transfer complex formed between the two, univalent, and poorly hydrated ions in order to minimize the disturbance to the water structure. However, as the absorption band of MB+ is split into two bands with exciton splitting of about 2,000 cm1, the formation of double ion-pair, (MB-TPB)2 appears to be more favorable than the charge transfer complex.

  • Hexagonal M-type barium ferrite BaFe12O19 was prepared by a direct solid state reaction between BaCO3 and \AlphaFe2O3 powders at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000 C in a nitrogen or air environment. The effects of NaCl on phase transformation of mixture of BaCO3 and \AlphaFe2O3 to BaFe12O19 were studied using X-ray diffraction and M\"ossbauer spectroscopy. Regardless of the environment for heat treatment or the added NaCl, two phases, BaFe and \AlphaFe2O3, coexist for samples heat treated at 800 C, but a single phase was observed from samples heat treated at 1000C in both air and nitrogen environments. It was found that the addition of NaCl reduced the amount of aFe2O3 phase.hase.

  • Information retrieval is a method to search the needed data by users. Generally, when a user searches some data in the large scale data set like the internet, ranking-based search is widely used because it is not easy to find the exactly needed data at once. In this paper, we propose a novel ranking-based search method based on sequence and adjacency relationship of user query by the help of TF-IDF and n-gram. As a result, it was possible to find the needed data more accurately with 73% accuracy in more than 19,000 data set.

Narrow Band Interference Rejection for Spectrum Overlay Communications (주파수 복수통신을 위한 협대역 간섭신호제거)

  • In this paper we discuss narrow-band interference rejection schemes for spectrum overlay communications where direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) communication system and narrow-band communication systems share the same frequency band. In this case, it is essential to reject the narrow-band signals to guarantee the performance of DS/SS system, while it is not necessarily required to reject the DS/SS signal to recover the narrow-band signal. We discuss several schemes such as time domain processing, frequency domain processing and exploiting the device characteristics to reduce the effect of narrow-band signal on DS/SS communication systems. Furthermore, we suggest a structure of tunable notch filter using gyrator that can easily be customized to ASIC.
