Ring-Shaped Inductive Sensor Design and Application to Pressure Sensing (환형 인덕티브 센서의 설계 및 압력센서로의 적용)

  • Inductive sensors are versatile and economical devices that are widely used to measure a wide variety of physical variables, such as displacement, force, and pressure. In this paper, we propose a simple inductive sensor consisting of a thin partial ring and a coil set. The self-inductance of the sensor was estimated using magnetic circuit analysis and validated through finite element analysis (FEA). The natural frequency of the ring was estimated using Castigliano's theorem and the method of equivalent mass. The estimation was validated through experiments and FEA. A prototype sensor with a signal processing circuit is built and applied to noninvasively sense the pressure inside a flexible tube. The obtained sensor outputs show quadratic behavior with respect to the pressure. When fitted to a quadratic equation, the least-square measurement error was less than 2%. The results confirm the feasibility of pressure sensing using the proposed inductive sensor.

Measurement of Journal Bearing Friction Loss of Turbocharger in a Passenger Vehicle (승용차용 터보과급기의 저널 베어링 마찰 손실 측정)

  • The turbochargers, which are used widely in diesel and gasoline engines, are an effective device to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. On the other hand, turbo-lag is one of the main problems of a turbocharger. Bearing friction losses is a major cause of turbo lag and is particularly intense in the lower speed range of the engine. Current turbochargers are mostly equipped with floating bearings: two journal bearings and one thrust bearing. This study focused on the bearing friction at the lower speed range and the experimental equipment was established with a drive-motor, load-cell, magnetic coupling, and oil control system. Finally, the friction losses of turbochargers were measured considering the influence of the rotating speed from 30,000rpm to 90,000rpm, oil temperature from 50C to 100C, and oil supply pressure of 3bar and 4bar. The friction power losses were increased exponentially to 1.6 when the turbocharger speed was increased. Friction torques decreased with increasing oil temperature and increased with increasing oil pressure. Therefore, the oil temperature and pressure must be maintained at appropriate levels.

  • For the evaluation of operability of MOV(Motor Operated Valve), the precision prediction of thrust/torque acting on the valve is important. In this paper, the analytical prediction method of thrust/torque was proposed. The design basis stem thrust calculation typically considers the followings: Packing thrust, Stem rejection load, design basis differential pressure load. In general, test results show that temperature, pressure, fluid type, and differential pressure, independently and combination, all have an effect on the friction factor. The prediction results of thrust/torque are well agrement with dynamic test results.

  • A study to reduce the transient torque in shifting in automatic transmission has been very important issue. Recently it is really dominant to decrease the torque by using independent-acting hydraulic circuit because we can control the clutch pressure actively and elaborately. So we design the new hydraulic circuit to control the clutches in automatic transmission and make the module library of computer simulations, We apply the results to GM model automatic transmission and carry out 1longrightarrow4 shifting simulations. By this work we recognize the capability of active and elaborate clutch pressure control using new hydraulic circuit. In addition We develop the tool to simulate the powertrain system. It is easier to update and exchange the subsystem model or parameters than conventional simulation tools.

  • Pneumatic actuators are clean, lightweight, and can be easily serviced, whereas low energy efficiency has been considered as a critical shortcoming compared with corresponding hydraulic and electrical actuators. This study describes a new design method of pneumatic cylinder driving apparatus by lowering a supply pressure. The simulation study demonstrates that the designed system with the proposed method can operate at the smaller energy consumption state compare to the designed system with the conventional method for the specified working conditions.

  • 통상 분 당 0.6, 최대 2의 유량과 토출 압력 5atg의 운전 조건을 만족시키는 미세기포발생기용 소형 왕복동식 공기압축기를 개발하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 미세기포발생기는 현재 농업, 어업, 미용, 수질오염방지 등 여러 방면에서 매우 널리 사용되고 있는데, 이러한 미세 기포를 발생시키기 위해서는 고압의 소형 공기압축기가 요구 된다. 이를 위해 비교적 간단한 구동방식의 왕복동식 압축방법을 선정하여 핵심 설계 항목인 실린더와 피스톤형상, 간극체적, 압축비, 구동모터 출력을 이론적 예측과 실험적 방법을 통하여 최적화하였다. 그 결과 미세기포 발생장치 시스템에서 가장 큰 공간을 차지하고 있는 압축기를 소형화시켰으며 압축기 개발 목표 성능을 달성하였다.

엔진 윤활시스템 유로망 해석

  • 이 글에서는 엔진 윤활 시스템해석 프로그램의 구성 요인 및 프로우차트를 열거했으며 이렇게 만들어진 프로그램을 이용하여 엔진의 개선 및 신엔진 개발 시에 매개변수를 변화시켜가며 오일 유로의 설계와 요구되는 오일량을 결정하여 최적의 윤활시스템을 설계할 수 있다고 본다. 참고로 밸브시스템의 정상적인 작동을 유지하는 상태에서 요구되는 토출 유압과 유량이 줄어들면 오일 펌프의 용량을 줄일 수 있고 그로 인해 오일 펌프 구동손실도 줄일 수 있다. 또한 최적 유량이 공급될 때 엔진 구동손실을 최소화할 수 있다. 더나아가 본 해석으로 얻은 최적화된 유량이 만족 된 이상적인 윤활 부위의 치수가 결정된 상태에서 운동부의 마찰을 최소화하는 엔진 마찰의 수치해석적 모델을 개발하는 것도 흥미있는 과제이다. 또한 간단한 테스트 리그 제작에 의한 각 윤활 부품에서의 압력-유량 관계 실험식의 정확도를 높이는 것도 앞으로의 과제이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 카페나 패스트푸드점같은 장소에서 인간을 대신하여 임의의 위치에 있는 다양한 컵을 3D 카메라로 검출하여 알맞은 위치로 분리수거하는 6축 수직 다관절 로봇 팔을 설계하였다. Yaw-Pitch-Pitch-Pitch-Yaw-Yaw 6축 구조로 설계하였으며, 이를 구동하기 위한 관절 구동기의 용량을 분석을 통해 최적화하였다. 각각 재질이 다른 컵을 그리퍼를 이용하여 잘 파지할 수 있도록 재질에 따른 파지력을 분석하였고 압력센서를 이용하여 재질이 다른 컵을 구분하여 분리수거 할 수 있도록 하였다. 실험을 통해 로봇의 성능과 개선점을 제시하였다.

  • The control system of a direct drive servo valve is a nonlinear system, and the flow force effect on the spool motion is significant and dependent on the load pressure. To satisfy the control system design requirements, the optimal parameters of the lead-lag controller and the derivative feedback controller are searched for using a genetic algorithm and a complex constrained direct search type method. The obtained controller parameters successfully perform their role to satisfy the control system design requirements.

Output Filter Design for Conducted EMI Reduction of PWM Inverter-Fed AC Motor Drive System (PWM 인버터 시스템에서의 전도노이즈 저감을 위한 출력필터 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper filtering techniques to reduce the adverse effects of motor leads on high-frequency PWM inverter fed AC motor drives are presented. The filter was designed to keep the motor terminal from the cable surge impedance to reduce overvoltage reflections ringing and the dv/dt, di/dt, at the motor terminals. Specially the output filter is used to limit the rate of the inverter output voltage and reduce common mode noise to the motor, The performance of the output filter is evaluated through simulations and experiment on PWM inverter-fed AC motor drive. An experimental PWM drive system reduction of conducted EMI was implemented on an available TMS320C31 microprocessor control board Finally, experimental result shows inverter output filter reduces more common mode voltage than low pass filter also reduce overoltage and ringing at the motor terminal.
