  • In this paper, the ordinariest and strongest simulator that many used to power electronics circuits and many different control technology can apply to more easily understand modeling the element, PSPICE and MATLAB are adapted a micro IGBT, a macro IGBT, PWM generator and to library moeling of validity of the Induction motor is interpreted. Micro IGBT model of demagnetization quality proved for modeling accuracy to through experiment, macromodel IGBT were simulated which the applied to voltage type PWM inverter to the cyclo-converter and induction motor of demagnetization.

  • Highly active and stable nano-sized Ni catalysts supported on MgO-$Al_2O_3$ calcined from hydrotalcite-like materials have been successfully developed with a strong metal to support interaction (SMSI) to enhance the coke resistance in combined $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ reforming of $CH_4$ (CSCRM) for syngas ($H_2$/CO=2) production. The change of the surface area and NiO crystallite size with varying the pre-calcination temperature of support and Mgo content was investigated in relation to the coke resistance. As increasing the pre-calcination temperature, the surface area decreases and the metal to support interaction becomes weak. As a consequence, the coke deposition was more severe on catalysts pre-calcined at high temperature. It was concluded that highly dispersed Ni metal in the surface of Ni/MgO-$Al_2O_3$ catalyst (MgO=30 wt%) pre-calcined at $800^{\circ}C$ had a strong metal to support interaction (SMSI) resulting in an increase of coke resistance and high activity.

  • A simulation study on SCR (Steam Carbon dioxide Reforming) process in gas-to-liquid (natural gas to Fischer-Tropsch synthetic fuel) process was carried out in order to find optimum reaction conditions for GTL (gas-to-liquid) process reaction. Optimum SCR operating conditions for synthesis gas to FT (Fischer-Tropsch) process were determined by changing reaction variables such as feed temperature and pressure. During the simulation, overall synthesis process was assumed to proceed under steady-state conditions. It was also assumed that physical properties of reaction medium were governed by RKS (Redlich-Kwong-Soave) equation. SCR process was considered as reaction models for synthesis gas in GTL proess. The effect of temperature and pressure on SCR process $H_2$/CO ratio and the effect of reaction pressure on SCR reaction were mainly examined. Simulation results were also compared to experimental results to confirm the reliability of simulation model. Simulation results were reasonably well matched with experimental results.

  • KIER has been developed a compact and highly efficient fuel processor which is one of the key component of the residential PEM fuel cells system. The fuel processor uses methane steam reforming to convert natural gas to a mixture of water, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and unreacted methane. Then carbon monoxide is converted to carbon dioxide in water-gas-shift reactor and preferential oxidation reactor. A start-up time of the fuel processor is about 1h and CO concentration among the final product is maintained less than 5 vol. ppm. To achieve high thermal efficiency of 80% on a LHV basis, an optimal thermal network was designed. Internal heat exchange of the fuel processor is so efficient that the temperature of the reformed gas and the flue gas at the exit of the fuel processor remains less than $100^{\circ}C$. A compact design considering a mixing and distribution of the feed was applied to reduce the reactor volume. The current volume of the fuel processor is 17L with insulation.

  • 촉매 생산에서 마지막으로 중요한 단계는 촉매성형이다. 여기서 압출성형은 촉매 성형방법 중 저렴하고 비교적 간단한 방법 중 하나이다. 여기서 중요한 것은 바인더의 선택과 입자 사이즈가 가장 중요한 요인이 된다. 촉매 압출성형에서 많이 쓰이는 바인더로 PVA(Polyvinyl Alcohol)와 MC(Methyl Cellulose), CMC(Carboxymethyl Cellulose)가 있다. CMC 바인더의 경우, 촉매의 접착력이 현저히 떨어져 촉매의 바인더로 사용하기 어려웠다. PVA, MC 바인더의 경우, 촉매의 접착력이 우수하고 압출성형이 잘 되었다. 그러나 PVA 바인더의 경우, 열중량 분석을 통해 재 소성과정에서 바인더가 완전히 제거되지 않아서 촉매의 물성 변화 및 활성에 좋지 않은 영향을 주었다. 그러나 MC의 경우에는 재소성과정에서 바인더가 완전히 제거되어 촉매의 물성변화에 영향을 주지 않았으며, 촉매의 활성 변화에도 영향을 주지 않았다. 그래서 메탄 수증기 개질 촉매의 압출 성형에 적합한 바인더로 MC가 적합하다고 판단된다. 그리고 압출용 반죽 제조를 위한 미분쇄된 촉매 입자의 사이즈에서 너무 작은 입자를 사용하게 되면 반죽은 잘 되나 촉매의 물성변화로 인해 촉매 활성이 저하되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그래서 볼밀로 정밀하게 입자 사이즈를 $10{\mu}m$ 이하로 조절하면 촉매 활성에 영향이 거의 없는 압출성형 촉매를 제조할 수 있다.

  • The variable structure control(VSC) with sliding mode is the discontinuous control law in leads to undesirable chattering in practice. As a method solving this problem, in this paper, we propose a scheme of the VSC with neural network sliding surface. A neural network sliding surface with boundary layer is employed to solve discontinuous control law. The proposed controller can eliminate the chattering problem of the conventional VSC. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation results.

  • 볼륨 데이터에 대한 압축 기법의 필요성은 데이터 용량의 증가와 네트워크 사용량의 증가와 함께 더불어 증가해 왔다. 현재에는 다양한 압축 기법이 개발돼 있으며, 사용자는 데이터 유형이나 응용 분야에 맞춰 압축 기법을 선택, 적용할 수 있다. 그러나 최근에는 응용 과학자들로부터 생성되는 데이터의 용량이 기하급수적으로 증가했는데, 이렇게 응용과학 분야에서 생성되는 데이터는 대부분 3차원 볼륨 데이터다. 2차원 이미지나 3차원 동영상 데이터의 경우에는 다양한 표준 압축 방식을 사용할 수 있지만 3차원 볼륨 데이터에 적용할 수 있는 방법은 한정돼 있으며, 특히 시간가변(time-varying) 볼륨 데이터에 대한 압축 표준은 거의 존재하지 않는다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 시간가변 볼륨 데이터에 대한 압축 방식을 제안한다. 이 방식은 가시화를 목적으로 하는 시간가변 볼륨 데이터의 인코딩을 목적으로 하며, MPEG의 I-프레임과 P-프레임 개념을 사용해서 압축률을 높인다. 본 방식은 시간가변 부동 소수점 데이터(single precision floating-point data)로 구성된 시간가변 볼륨 데이터를 대상으로 하는데, 한 블록 단위의 무작위 복원을 지원하며 Daubechies 웨이블릿 필터와 프레임간의 상관 관계를 사용, 대형 시간가변 볼륨 데이터를 이미지 화질을 보존한다.

Solubility, vapor pressure, duhring and enthalpy-concentration charts of$H_2$O/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) solution as a new working fluid ($H_2$O/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) 3성분계 작동매체의 용해도, 증기압측정 및 듀링 선도, 엔탈피-농도 선도 작성)

  • Solubilities (LiBr+$CaC1_2$) in water were measured at temperatures form 267.51 to 306.17K for $CaC1_2$ (LiBr+$CaC1_2$)=0.24 by mole. Experimental data were correlated with polynomial equations. Average absolute deviations between the measured and calculated values were 0.31% at concentration smaller than 60wt% and 0.41% at concentration larger than 60wt%, respectively. Vapor pressures were measured at temperatures from 296.75 to 436.75K and concentrations from 40 to 70wt%. Vapor pressure data were fitted to a Antoine-type equation and average absolute deviation was 2.98%. The P-T-X chart and H-T-X chart of $H_2O$/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) system were constructed by using the correlation equations of solubility, vaper pressure, and heat capacity. The P-T-X chart indicates that $H_2O$/(LiBr+$CaC1_2$) system has potential as a possible working fluid for air-cooled absorption chillers.

  • The necessity of data compression scheme for volume data has been increased because of the increase of data capacity and the amount of network uses. Now we have various kinds of compression schemes, and we can choose one of them depending on the data types, application fields, the preferences, etc. However, the capacity of data which is produced by application scientists has been excessively increased, and the format of most scientific data is 3D volume. For 2D image or 3D moving pictures, many kinds of standards are established and widely used, but for 3D volume data, specially time-varying volume data, it is very difficult to find any applicable compression schemes. In this paper, we present a compression scheme for encoding time-varying volume data. This scheme is aimed to encoding time-varying volume data for visualization. This scheme uses MPEG's I- and P-frame concept for raising compression ratio. Also, it transforms volume data using Daubechies D4 filter before encoding, so that the image quality is better than other wavelet-based compression schemes. This encoding scheme encodes time-varying volume data composed of single precision floating-point data. In addition, this scheme provides the random reconstruction accessibility for an unit, and can be used for compressing large time-varying volume data using correlation between frames while preserving image qualities.

  • A naval shipboard inevitably movies in a pitch and roll direction under the influence of wave and wind in the sea. As a result, the shipboard gets in a continuous turning motion back/front and right/left. And the shipboard is also constantly exposed to many different kinds of disturbance signals including the vibrations of various frequencies from the internal equipments and their vibrations, strong waves, and impact from explosion. This paper formulates multi-body dynamic models similar to an actual system and simulates the pitch/roll positions of a 2-axes gimbals with PI controller for consecutive behavior of a naval shipboard including disturbance.
