Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the self-rated oral health concern of adults over the age of 20 and from all over the country and their subjective oral health symptoms in a bid to provide some information on oral health policy setting for adults. Methods : The subjects in this study were 3,558 adults who voluntarily participated in a survey conducted by this researcher at the website of a company. After their answer sheets were analyzed, the following findings were given: Results : 1. 81 percent replied that they were very concerned about oral health. As to the relationship between their general characteristics and oral health concern, there were statistically significant differences in that regard according to their gender, age, purpose of seeing a dentist and occupation. 2. As for the relationship of their general characteristics to subjective awareness of oral health symptoms, there were statistically significant gaps in that aspect according to their gender, age, purpose of seeing a dentist, occupation and state of smoking. 3. In regard to the relationship between oral health concern and subjective awareness of oral health symptoms, those who were more concerned about oral health felt less subjective oral symptoms, but the difference between them and the others was not significant. The respondents who felt more symptoms of dental caries felt more symptoms of periodontal diseases as well. Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings indicate that in order to help adults promote or maintain their oral health, their concern for oral health should be stimulated by providing them with a lot of diverse information, and it seems that the development of programs that can eliminate their subjective oral symptoms of dental caries and peridontal diseases, the primary causes of tooth dysfunction, is required.
This study was performed to compare the status of oral care knowledge, oral care practice, and the patterns of the oral health care utilization before and during the pregnancy. It was conducted on the basis of a survey of 291 pregnant women who were in 9 post-natal care centers for post-natal care after delivery located in Daegu Metropolitan city and Changwon city of Gyeongsangnam-do from April 1st till April 29th on 2010. Forty five percent of them were experienced with the gum bleeding before pregnancy and 55.7% were experienced during pregnancy. The number of average tooth brushing per day was 3.05 times before pregnancy and 2.99 times during pregnancy in the survey. The patients who were experienced in dental health care during pregnancy out of the subjects for study were 51 for 17.5%. The score for the dental health knowledge was 7.82 for 10 grade scale and 5.38 before pregnancy and 5.14 during pregnancy for 10 grade scale in the actual performance scoring for dental care. Pre-dental care, experience in activity restriction due to dental disease, concern about oral health and regular visit to dental clinic were significant associated with use of dental care services during pregnancy.
This study was conducted to examine the oral health, dental treatment and insurance awareness of the community during the COVID-19 period from September 1 to October 29, 2021 for patients who visited a local dental clinic in Gangwon-do. For analysis, SPSS Statistics 24.0 program was used. As a result of the analysis, it was found that oral health status, interest in oral health, and awareness of health insurance expansion affect dental treatment during the COVID-19 period. In addition, those who did not receive oral health education, those with a high school diploma or lower, and those with poor oral health showed positive results for dental treatment during the COVID-19. In conclusion, it is necessary to expand publicity on oral health education, and to list the cost of infection control in health insurance and separate compensation materials. In future research, I think that it is necessary to conduct research through a variety of subjects and study the expansion of insurance in detail.

This study was carried out in order to be used as basic data in developing oral health program for adolescents hereafter by surveying which influence it has upon oral health knowledge and recognition depending on students' subjective oral health status targeting middle school students. First of all, examining about students' subjective oral health status, the 2nd graders accounted for 36.2% depending on school year, thereby having been indicated to be high in response as saying of being healthy in own teeth. It was indicated that the higher level of brushing teeth after lunch at school leads to the higher response as saying of being healthy in own teeth(p<0.05). The group with response as saying of healthy in own teeth was indicated to be higher in regularly visiting once or twice a year as the period of visiting dental clinic, and was indicated to be higher(p<0.001) in a visit for oral check-up even as for the aim of visiting dental clinic than other groups. The subjects in this study were 281 elderly people in some regions. After they were respectively interviewed, the following findings were given: The group of elderly people who brushed their teeth three times or more and who did toothbrushing in an arbitrary way were more concerned about oral health, and the gap between them and the others (p<.05). The group who paid a regular visit to dental clinics had more interest in oral health than the other (p<.01). The group who brushed their teeth in an arbitrary way had more remaining teeth, and the gap between them and the others(p<.05). The group who did toothbrushing for about two minutes had more remaining teeth, and more edentulous jaws were found in the group who brushed their teeth once (p<.01). The group who did toothbrushing three times or more scored higher in oral health knowledge, and the gap between them and the others(p<.01). And the group who paid a regular visit to dental clinics scored higher in oral health knowledge, and the gap between them and the other (p<.01). In the future, the development of a wide variety of oral health programs and prolonged oral health education are both required. Diverse oral health programs and education are expected to stir up elderly people's interest in oral health, to improve their oral health knowledge and to give a positive change to their oral health behavior.
The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation of oral health behavior, oral health state and PHP in an effort to facilitate the promotion of oral health and improve oral health care. The subjects in this study were patients who got a scaling at the oral hygiene practice lab in the department of dental hygiene in S college dental clinic from September 5 to December 1, 2007. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The younger patients had a smaller number of FT index, and the older patients excelled the younger ones in oral health behavior involving the use of oral hygiene supplies, regular visit to dental clinics and dietary control. 2. The patients got 2.62 out of possible five points on oral health behavior, which indicated that their oral health behavior wasn't good enough. Those whose oral health behavior was better had a smaller number of DT index and a larger number of FT index. A better oral health behavior led to a lower PHP index. 3. There was a negative(-) interrelationship between oral health behavior and DT index, and oral health behavior had a positive(+) correlation with FT index. The oral health behavior had a negative(-) correlation to PHP index, which showed that a better oral health behavior led to a lower PHP index. The above-mentioned findings seem to suggest that oral health behavior is one of integral factors to affect oral health status and PHP index, and the kind of oral health education that could change oral health care attitude should be provided during scaling practice after grasping the actual oral health behavior of patients.
