Pathologic attrition leads to pathologic damage on occlusal plane, functional disorders, occlusal disharmony, esthetic problems, pulpal lesion, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. In this case, treatment plan should be considered for possibility of vertical dimension loss, occlusal pattern, esthetics, phonetics, amount of vertical dimension increase. This case report was a 71-year-old man who had severely worn dentition. Full mouth rehabilitation was carried out with vertical dimension increase due to limited space for prosthesis. After evaluation of provisional restorations for patient's compliance, final restorations were fabricated and routine clinical assessments were made. This case presents that a satisfactory clinical result was achieved by restoring the worn dentition.
Purpose: Dentists suffer back, neck and shoulder pain during their careers due to bad operating posture. If dentists have a good operating posture ergonomically, there would be less pain and discomfort in the shoulder and back. Therefore, dentists should learn the Home position which enables dentists to approach a stable posture ergonomically. This study was to compare tooth preparation in the Home position and the Random position, and evaluate the clinical efficacy of the Home position. Materials and methods: Tooth preparation for fixed partial denture was performed on the maxillary left 2nd premolar and maxillary left 2nd molar at the two different operating positions were compared. The amount of occlusal reduction, marginal width, subgingival margin depth, and convergence angle were measured. A T-test was performed separately to compare the results of the Random position and the Home position. Results: 1. The amounts of average thickness of occlusal reduction on fossa were deficient to the ordered ones in the Random position and the Home position (P > .05). 2. The average subgingival margin depth of prepared margin on maxillary left 2nd premolar, maxillary left 2nd molar were excessive in the Random position than in the Home position. On the maxillary left 2nd premolar, there was no statistical difference in the Random position and the Home position except Distal midline, DL line angle, Lingual midline, ML line angle (P< .05). On the maxillary left 2nd molar, there was no statistical difference in the Random position and the Home position (P < .05). 3. Average convergence angle in the Random position and the Home position were excessive compared to the ordered angle. There was no statistical difference in the Random position and the Home position (P > .05). 4. Analysis of pearson correlation : In the Random position, the amounts of average thickness of occlusal reduction, the average subgingival margin depth of prepared margin, convergence angle were significantly associated with each other (P < .05). But in the Home position, they were not significantly associated with each other (P < .05). 5. The time needed for preparation in the Home position was faster or equal than that of the Random position as time went on. Conclusion: In conclusion, there were no significant differences between Home position and Random position in measures of occlusal reduction, marginal width, marginal depth, convergence angle. However, preparation time and incidence of damaging adjacent teeth were less in Home position than in Random position. Therefore, if trained properly, Home position which is more ergonomically stable can be adopted for clinical use.
This study suggested correction of excessive mouth opening or maximum occlusal contact to analyse occlusal contact time, occlusal contact number and force through evaluation of occlusal pattern in policemen with temporomandibular disorders. The community of policemen influence on temporomandibular disorder's development and progress due to other condition of mouth opening and maximal occlusal contact. Repeated training or changes of usual life style may cause imbalance of stomatognathic system including the masticatory muscle, then develop or aggravate pain of temporomandibular joints and associated structures. This study uses T-scan II system(Tekscan Co., USA) for evaluation on occlusal pattern may influence temporomandibular disorders, and then the subjects take a sensor at 20 mm opening for maximal occlusal contact force. The policemen with temporomandibualr disorders get more long time on maximum contact timing, more short on end contact timing, and more force on end contact force than general society's. So they get closure of mouth with more short time and more force, then transfer remaining load to temporomandibular joint. There are no statistically significances between affected side and occlusal pattern of occlusal contact time and force. There are Left -right dental arch imbalances seems on Rt. dental arch if affected side is right and Lt. dental arch if affected side is left. In above results, It's worth due consideration that policemen with temporomandibular disorders get more smooth mandibualr movement and less force on maximal occlusal contact position.
The progressive attrition of teeth is a normal process by aging. However, excessive tooth wear with decreased vertical dimension of occlusion and collapse of occlusal plane may cause pathologic pulpal condition, occlusal disharmony, functional disorders and esthetic problems. The change of vertical dimension is required in case that there is no sufficient clearance for restoration or in case that the occlusal relationship is modified. For gaining the vertical dimension, a careful diagnosis is essential prior to starting the restoration treatment. After evaluating adaptation of neuromuscular system of patient during provisional phase, the final restorations can be fabricated. In this case, a 78 year old male with severely worn down dentition was treated. To improve the esthetic appearance and to achieve the ideal occlusal relationship, the full mouth rehabilitation with minimal increase of vertical dimension is planned and diagnostic wax-up was performed at the increased vertical dimension. After evaluation of provisional restorations for 12 weeks, final restorations were fabricated and routine clinical assessments were made. After 1 year, the restorations with newly established occlusal scheme are well maintained without significant complications and esthetically and functionally satisfactory results were obtained.

Food impaction due to proximal space opening after implant restoration is a very common phenomenon in patients who have implant prosthesis. This occurs because the movement mechanism between the implant and the tooth is different, and it occurs about 30-60% over time. Contributing factors include the arch (mandible), region (posterior teeth), adjacent teeth (non-vital teeth), and antagonist teeth (natural teeth or implants), etc. While this phenomenon cannot be prevented, efforts should be made to minimize it. In order to have an ideal proximal contact as much as possible, the concave shape or the prominent lower proximal shape should be modified to create a symmetrical proximal shape. with the buccal dentate in the upper third height should be adjusted. Other conditions should be modified so that the heights of the marginal ridges are similar. Since an irregular occlusal plane is a cause of poor prognosis, food impaction should be minimized by restoring the ideal occlusal plane by correcting the extruded antagonist and reduction of the disto-buccal cusp.
The purpose of the study was to correlate margin design(chamfer, shoulder, shoulder with a $45^{\circ}$ bevel. with the seating and sealing of cemented full cast crowns under standardized simulated clinical conditions. Wax patterns were made with milled stainless-steel dies and rings, and were invested, burnt out, and cast. The full cast crowns were comented on individual resin dies, and a gradually diminishing load(45kg to 25kg. was applied over a 10-minute period. The specimens were sectioned centrally with a low speed diamond saw and examined with light microscope. The results were as follows : 1. Chamfer preparations demonstrated it was the best marginal seal, followed in order by the shoulder with a $45^{\circ}$ bevel, and by the shoulder(p<.05). 2. Chamfer preparations demonstrated it was the best occlusal seating, followed in order by the shoulder, and by the shoulder with a $45^{\circ}$ bevel(p<.05).
The facial asymmetries include maxillary, mandibular, and chin asymmetries, although the most common deformity is primarily in the mandible. Common causes of this type of asymmetry can include asymmetric growth of the condyle or the mandible. In these patients, the location of the Me would be deviated to the shorter side because of the asymmetric growth of the mandible, and, commonly, the maxillary occlusal plane would be tilted toward the deviated side because the maxilla likely grows asymmetrically according to the pattern of asymmetric mandibular growth. Three-dimensional CT images are ideal for evaluating the size and location of anatomic structures, and such reconstructed images allow the use of software that can show anatomic structures from numerous angles, allowing actual measurements of distances and angles without problems of magnification, distortion, or superimposition caused by 2-dimensional imaging. In the present study using 3D-CT imaging, the 8 parameters, including measurements of the upper midline deviation, maxillary canting in the canine and first molar regions, width of the upper arch, width of the mandible at the Go, vertical length of the ramus, inclination of the ramus, and deviation of the Me were easily measured. The dentition should be orthodontically decompensated and dental midline should ensure incisor midlines positioned in the midline of each jaw before surgical correction. Surgical correction could be considered such as canting or yawing correction in the frontal or horizontal aspect, respectively.

Recently, the method of making a dental prothesis is changed in the ICT based digital way. In particular, with the emergence of the CAD/CAM or 3D printing for dental purpose, a computer based digital type is selected gradually more than an analog type. To make an implant abutment, it is possible to apply the conventional technique of making round bars, or the technique using a CNC milling machine. This study tested these two types of the techniques to find which one had more precision and a smaller error when the margin and occlusal surface was made. According to the test, the technique using a CNC milling machine to make an implant abutment had a small error and supported precise processing in terms of the margin fit and the occlusal surface. Therefore, it was found to be useful in making a custom-made prothesis.

In the case of skeletal class III edentulous patients, the stability of dentures can be achieved by using a crossbite by considering the residual ridge relationship when fabricating complete dentures. Forming the anterior teeth in a normal occlusal relationship in a skeletal class III ridge relationship may reduce the stability of the denture by increasing the anterior cantilever. However, when patients use complete dentures, not only functional aspects but also aesthetic aspects are important. The aesthetics of complete dentures depends on how the anterior artificial teeth are arranged, and cases of complete denture fabrication using normal occlusion or edge-to-edge bite in edentulous patients with skeletal class III ridge relationships have been reported. In this case, complete dentures were fabricated for an edentulous patient with a skeletal class III edentulous patients by forming anterior edge-to-edge bite considering neutral zone in maxillary anterior teeth, and good aesthetic and functional results were obtained.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze stress distribution and maximum von Mises stress generated in intracoronal restorations and in tooth structures of mandibular molars with various types of cavity designs and materials. Materials and Methods: Three-dimensional solid models of mandible molar such as O inlay cavity with composite and gold (OR-C, OG-C), MO inlay cavity with composite and gold (MR-C, MG-C), and minimal invasive cavity on occlusal and proximal surfaces (OR-M, MR-M) were designed. To simulate masticatory force, static axial load with total force of 200 N was applied on the tooth at 10 occlusal contact points. A finite element analysis was performed to predict stress distribution generated by occlusal loading. Results: Restorations with minimal cavity design generated significantly lower values of von Mises stress (OR-M model: 26.8 MPa; MR-M model: 72.7 MPa) compared to those with conventional cavity design (341.9 MPa to 397.2 MPa). In tooth structure, magnitudes of maximum von Mises stresses were similar among models with conventional design (372.8 - 412.9 MPa) and models with minimal cavity design (361.1 - 384.4 MPa). Conclusion: Minimal invasive models generated smaller maximum von Mises stresses within restorations. Within the enamel, similar maximum von Mises stresses were observed for models with minimal cavity design and those with conventional design.
