  • 언제 어디서든 인간의 편의를 도모하고자 하는 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN) 시대에 발맞춰 많은 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 연구들 중 차량에 설치된 단말기를 통해 길안내 서비스, 교통정보 서비스 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는 텔레매틱스 서비스가 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 텔레매틱스 서비스의 일환으로 교차로에서 발생할 수 있는 사고를 미연에 방지하기 위하여 교차로로 접근하는 차량의 위치 및 속도 등의 차량정보를 교차로 중앙에 위치한 베이스 스테이션으로 전송하기 위해 IEEE 802.11 프로토콜[1]을 사용하였을 때, 도심 지역에 위치한 교차로의 경우 신속하고 정확하게 전송되어야 하는 차량 정보들이 교차로 주변의 빌딩숲에 가려진 두개 이상의 노드가 거의 동시에 송신을 하는 경우 충돌로 인하여 베이스 스테이션에서 수신 에러가 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11 프로토콜을 통해 차량 정보를 베이스 스테이션으로 전송할 때 교차로 주변 빌딩이 성능에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 NS2[2] 시뮬레이션 도구를 사용하여 성능을 평가하고자 한다.

  • Modern roundabouts referred to as relatively safer and more efficient traffic facility than the signalized intersections have been recently deployed and operated and accordingly more research efforts to improve its safety and efficiency have been made so far. This paper introduces a new traffic information system named as Smart Roundabout coupled with Connected Vehicle technique like Vehicle-to-Roadside communication, which has not been attempted before and evaluates its performance with a microscopic simulation model, VISSIM. The proposed system functions to collect driving information of circulating vehicles in the roundabout such as location, speed, critical headway, etc. and help approaching vehicles decide whether to enter the roundabout with an on-board equipment instrumented in the individual vehicle on the basis of calculated gap acceptance of interest. This new system is expected to secure more safety and increase the capacity of the modern roundabout.

Determination of Minimum Spacing between Off-ramp Terminus and Intersection Considering the Influence of Adjacent Signalized Intersections (신호교차로 영향에 따른 도시고속도로 유출연결로 최소이격거리에 관한 연구)

  • The interchanges of urban freeways have many problems with traffic operation due to high off-ramp flows and frequent congestion at adjacent intersections. The flow exiting from off-ramps is affected by the operational status and traffic volume conditions of the nearest signalized intersection. As a result, off-ramp flow cannot exit and the queue backs up the freeway mainline when queues from the signalized intersection form up to the junction of the off-ramp and street. The spacing between an off-ramp and an adjacent intersection is likely to determine the traffic conditions at the adjacent intersection. However, the current design guidelines do not consider such a factor. This study is to develop a model calculating the spacing between off-ramps and adjacent intersections considering the signal, traffic, and road conditions. The variables affecting the model in this study are effective green time (g/C), volume-capacity ratio (v/c), the number of lanes, and off-ramp volume. Various scenarios are designed to represent the effects of the variables and the road networks are constructed using VISSIM, which is a common traffic micro-simulation software package. The queue length is derived from VISSIM and this length is considered as the recommended spacing between the off-ramp and the adjacent intersection. Through the simulation analysis, regression models are developed to calculate the queue length reflecting the various conditions such as signals, traffic, and road configurations. The developed model can be used to create road design guidelines to determine the location of off-ramps in the planning stage.

  • 역할 기반 시스템(role-based system)은 역할을 수행할 수 있는 객체만 존재한다면 환경에 구애 받지 않고 시스템을 실행하는 것이 가능하므로, 적응성(adaptation) 및 상호작용(interaction) 측면에서 이점을 가진다. 이는 객체가 동적으로 이동하여 다른 환경에 속했을 때, 해당 객체가 역할을 수행할 수 있다면 새로운 환경에서 이질적으로 받아들이지 않고 적응할 수 있는 이동성(mobility)의 개념을 포함하므로 차량이 동적으로 이동하는 교차로 시스템에 적합하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 역할 기반 에이전트를 교차로 안전지원 시스템에 적용하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 역할 기반 시스템의 이점을 증명한다.

  • Due to continuous change in traffic and increase in traffic volumes at the intersection, efficient traffic control system is required to manage road situations flexibly in accordance with the change occurring every hour. In this paper, we study the control systems which will help us to determine the interva ls of intersection following the autonomous analysis of complexity of the road. Fuzzy logic control concept was applied to the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) for controlling traffic signal. Furthermore the fuzzy signal systems were compare with the regular signal systems to prove higher performance of the FLC presente d in the paper. By means of simulation, the validity of FLC was proven. About 6% increase in the efficiency of traffic control based on the proposed algorithm in this paper was when we use the simulation.

  • This paper presents an intelligent signal for controling the traffic lights on traffic junction network with dynamic traffic flow, When a junction is connected to adjacent junctions on four sides. Prior researches have been done on the single traffic junction. However, it is dificult to apply single junction controller to real traffic situation. In this paper, we develop a fuzzy taffic network controller which adjusts the extension time of current green phase by using teh fuzzy input variables such as the number of entering cars at the green light, the number of waiting cars during the red light, and the traffic volume. The proposed method was compared to the existing junction signal control methods on controllers in terms of average delay time of cars and the cost function defined in this paper.

  • Autonomous vehicles are equipped with a wide rage of sensors such as GPS, RADAR, LIDAR, camera, IMU, etc. and are driven by recognizing and judging various transportation systems at intersections in the city. The accident ratio of the intersection of the autonomous vehicles is 88% of all accidents due to the limitation of prediction and judgment of an area outside the sensing distance. Not only research on non-signalized intersection collision avoidance strategies through V2V and V2I is underway, but also research on safe intersection driving in failure situations is underway, but verification and fragments through simple intersection scenarios Only typical V2V failures are presented. In this paper, we analyzed the architecture of the V2V module, analyzed the causal factors for each V2V module, and defined the failure mode. We presented intersection scenarios for various road conditions and traffic volumes. we used the ISO-26262 Part3 Process and performed HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) to analyze the risk of autonomous vehicle based on the simulation. We presented ASIL, which is the result of risk analysis, proposed a monitoring concept for each component of the V2V module, and presented monitoring coverage.

A Study on Construction of Roundabouts considering the Effects for Adjacent Intersections in Urban Network (인접교차로 영향을 고려한 회전교차로 도입방안 연구)

  • Though many studies regarding roundabout have been recently conducted, most of them have focused on operational aspect. Moreover, majority of the previous researches analyzes operational effects of single roundabout, but seldom investigate the effects of multi-roundabouts constructed on road networks. In this study, we seek ways to construct multiple roundabouts on road network maximizing their operational effects. The analysis investigate influence of both adjacent signalized and unsignalized intersections as well as influence of the distance from those intersections to roundabouts. The results show that the optimal distance between two adjacent intersections were calculated to be 150m, and any two intersections located within 150m apart influence each other thus imposing operational restrictions on each other. In addition, those results are confirmed using simulation analysis conducted on the real urban network in Nonheon regional area, Incheon City.

순간 동적 사용자 최적 통행배정모형을 이용한 교차로에서 좌회전 금지 효과분석

  • 좌회전 제어네는 크게 좌회전을 금지하는 적극적인 제어에서 좌회전 신호와 좌회전 차선의 디자인 및 차선 설정과 같은 비교적 소극적인 제어가 있다. 기존의 좌회전에 관한 많은 연구는 대부분 후자의 소극적인 제어를 통한 제어효과를 파악하는데 주로 관심을 두었다. 좌회전금지의 효과분석 방법론에는 크게 교차로 및 링크(Link)와 네트워크(Network)의 두가지 차원의 접근 방법이 있다. 교차로 및 링크(Link) 차원의 분석은 TRANSYT 7F, PASSER IV 등과 같은 가로망에서 신호시간을 최적화하는 모형과 NETSIM, COSIM과 같이 조건에 따라 실제 차량의 행태를 모사하는 시뮬레이션 모형 등에서 좌회전 신호현시를 주거나, 주지 않음으로써 전후의 변화를 관찰, 분석에 이용할 수 있다. 그러나, 이러한 접근방법은 개별교차로에서 현시운영에 따른 효과를 분석하기에는 용이할 지 모르나, 좌회전 금지에 따라 전환된 교통량을 합리적으로 처리하는데 문제를 가지고 있다. 이에 반해 네트워크(Network) 차원의 분석은 좌회전 금지에 따른 거시적 수요변화를 파악하여, 좌회전금지에 따라 전환된 교통량을 합리적으로 수용 할 수 있으며, 교차로 및 링크(Link) 차원의 분석기법과의 결합을 통해 개별교차로에서 현시운영에 따른 효과도 어느정도 예견할 수 있을 것으로 예상되지만, 이에 관련한 여구가 전무한 형편이다. 본 연구의 목적은 네트워크(Network) 차원에서 좌회전 금지에 따른 효과 분석 모형을 정립하고, 가상 네트워크에 적용 그 유효성을 검증하여, 지역 네트워크의 개별교차로에서 좌회전 금지의 도입에 대한 의사결정의 기준을 마련하는데 있으며, 이를 위한 구체적 연구 내용은 다름과 같다. 첫째, 순간 동작 사용자 최적 통행배정모형의 구조 및 특성 파악. 둘째, 기존 가로망 표현기법의 구조 및 특성파악. 셋째, 좌회전 금지에 따른 효과 분석을 위한 순간 동적 사용자 최적 통행배정모형의 구축. 넷째, 좌회전 금지에 따른 효과 분석을 위한 가로망 표현기법의 개발. 다섯째, 가상 네트워크에서 구축된 모형을 통한 교차로에서 좌회전 금지 효과분석

An Analysis of Effectiveness and Development of Warrant to Transform Y-Type Intersection into Roundabout (Y형 교차로의 회전교차로 변형에 따른 적용효과 분석 및 설치준거 연구)

  • A ROUNDABOUT is more effective way to improve safety and prevent delays than signal intersection. ROUNDABOUT has been known highly safe treatment that could be used as a method to reduce conflicts between vehicles, to reduce travel speed in inner or approach of intersection, and to have no speed difference between drivers than intersection. In this study, the effective analysis on the installation of ROUNDABOUT was carried out using computer-based simulation tool VISSIM, in order to evaluate performance and safety of ROUNDABOUT and develope a warrant. In conclusion, the results indicated that there was remarkable increase of Y-intersection capacity and decrese of delay, and improvement of traffic safety. Finally, A nice feature of this study is to firstly attempt to use microscopic simulator to evaluate the effectiveness of ROUNDABOUT and suggest a passible operation boundary.
