A Study on the Gifted Education System in North Korea (북한의 영재교육 제도 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the gifted education system in North Korea. The study analysed various literature, articles, and internet resources concerning education in general and gifted education in North Korea. The findings of the study are as follows: First, in recent years North Korea has emphasized gifted education to advance the level of science and technology, especially in the field of information technology and computer science. Second, North Korea already introduced the gifted education system by establishing music schools, foreign language schools, art schools, dance schools, and athletics schools in 1960. Third, North Korea has established special schools for the gifted in science since 1984. The schools play an important role in advancing the country's science and technology. Fourth, in North Korea there are special courses in colleges and universities for the gifted in various fields. Fifth, North Korea has implemented the consistent and interrelated system of gifted education from kindergarten level to higher education level.

  • 교육, 연구, 봉사를 '더하기' 식으로 규정하는 것은 교육, 연구, 봉사를 서로 다른 시.공간에서 이루어지는 별개의 활동으로 규정함으로써 교수들로 하여금 대학 바깥의 직접적인 요구에 부응하도록 종용하는 결과를 초래하게 된다. 이것은 바로 오늘날 시행되고 있는 교수업적평가가 안고 있는 치명적인 문제점이다. 반면에 교육, 연구, 봉사를 '곱하기' 식으로 규정하는 것은 교육, 연구, 봉사를 유구한 대학의 전통 속에서 교수가 마땅히 해왔고 또 해야만 하는 한 가지 동일한 활동의 서로 다른 세 가지 측면으로 파악하는 것이며, 이것은 교수들로 하여금 대학 안의 요구에 충실히 전념하는 데에 격려와 지원이 되는 정신적 지주를 제공해 준다.

  • The crisis of moral-ethical school subject is related to the scientific identity of moral education in Korean society. Because it's identity hasn't been established yet exactly. At past time 'National Ethics' included not only moral education, but also anti-Communist education and education of political ideology or propaganda. The scientific foundation of ethical education is on ethics, and it is a branch of philosophy. But to escape this fact, some scholars relating with ethical education claimed to need 'interdisciplinary approach' to ethical subject. As a result, they allowed other department to give their certificates. Futhermore it is at a crisis to be integrated into social subject. Philosophy as scientific origin of ethics has already not interdisciplinary character but the idea of integrated science. So there is no necessity for finding another scientific foundation. Now following the original goal of ethical education, they try to train the ability of moral judgement to solve various moral problems rationally, and to cultivate moral disposition that can practice the ideal and principles of life.

  • In this study was groped a plan for an idea and method of design as the alternative of cure of cocial defect. Ailo, it was referred how an idea and method of design could be used for a cure of social defect and it was considered that an educational form that to actualize the idea and method of design is the basic structure of a cure or improvement of social defect. This educational form actualities exactly the 'media'which the idea and method of design pursue. In the end, an effect of media could probably make social change be practical.

어느 고독한 철학자의 몽상

  • IMF로 상징되는 '한국의 추락'을 겪으면서 '전 존재의 경제화'라는 경향을 섬뜩한 심정으로 지켜보고 있다. 이것을 방치할 경우 맞이할 또 다른 위기가 손에 잡힐 듯 보이지만 이미 '대학'도 '교육'도 '철학'도 떨어진 낙엽처럼 짓밟히고 있다. 세상은 이것들을 더 이상 '존경'하지 않는다. 그래도 이것들이 '숭고한' 어떤 것이라 믿고 매진해 온 사람들은 그 이념을 버리지 못하고 오늘도 고민한다. 살다보면 언젠가 철학의 목소리가 아쉬워 인터뷰를 요청해 올 날이 있을지도 모른다. 그 때를 위한 예행연습 한 토막을 적어 본다.

Social Contribution and Future Direction of Home Economics Education (가정교육학의 사회적 기여와 미래 방향)

  • The purpose of this study was to put forth of a future vision from examining of social contribution, future direction, and theoretical framework of home economics education and its cases of practice in educational setting. This study was carried with literature review, and results of study were as follows: First, home economics education should contribute to society through (1) educating individuals suffering from family tiredness to maintain autonomous lives free from distorted family ideology by being critically conscious of them in individual dimension, (2) educating individuals to develop a competence as a citizen to be critical of family ego-centric ideas and to participate and support communal life in family-social dimension, and (3) educating female and male students gender sensitivity and management of family life to be critical of gender discrimination ideology in gender dimension. Second, future home economics education should reinforce all round character education which let students develop their creativity and problem solving ability and foster students' wisdom of life with honesty and morality rather than merely acquiring knowledge in individual dimension. Third, this study employed Brown and Paolucci's conceptual scheme as a theoretical framework which focuses on the role of home economics education leading individuals and families as a changing agent. This framework let individuals and families to critically examine the social character and ideas provided by existing social, economical, and political systems, and to transform social character and ideas to build an ideal societal condition when there are any problems in them. Fourth, this study examined sample classroom instruction of Japan and FCCLA of United States of America to see how they educate students to become a changing agent. In conclusion, future vision of home economics education is to accomplish family revolution to sustain happy family relation and their family lives in which they feel pampered from achievement and free from distorted family ideology. For home economics to accomplish family revolution, it should strengthen education for empowerment, enlightenment, and autonomy. This study calls for immediate paradigm shift not as an occupational but as a practical-critical praxis subject matter for family revolution through home economics education.

  • 中国现代科学的发展与"科学救国"思想密切相关. 自从传统科学(格致)从哲学领域独立出来后, 中国科学一直被一种必须为国家的经济和国防建设作出贡献的理念所规定. 鸦片战争时期提出的"师夷长技"理论成为科学救国思想的萌芽, 进入新中国后提出的一系列科学相关的思想, 政策, 理念也不例外. 论文以中国科学救国思想的形成和发展过程为中心, 探讨了毛泽东的科学理念和"向科学进军", "科学技术是第一生产力", "科教兴国"等新中国以后提出的科学理念及政策.
