The speed control system of an induction type a.c servo motor by vector control (벡터제어법에 의한 유도형교류 서보전동기의 속도제어에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, a.c servo motors have been gradually replacing d.c sevo motors in various high-performance demanded aplications such as machine tools and industrial robots. In particular, the high-performance slip-frequency control of an induction motor, which is often called the vector control, is considered one of the best a.c drive. In this paper, the transient state equation and vector control algrithms of an induction motor are described mathematically by using the two-axis theory(d-q coordinates). According to the result of these algorithms, we scheme the speed control system for an induction type ac servo motor in which vector control is adopted to give tha a.c motor high performance. Motor drive is a PWM inverter using power MOS-FET, and is controlled in order to let the actual input current of the motor track the current reference obtained from a microcomputer(8086 cpu). Driving experiments are performed in the range of 0 to 3000 rpm, and it is verified that high speed response is possible.

추정된 절삭력 신호를 이용한 선삭력 제어

  • While a cutting tool is machining a workpiece at various cutting depth, the feedrate is usually selected based on the maximum depth of cut. Even if this selection can avoid power saturation or tool breakage, it is very conservative compared to the capacity of the machine tools and can reduce the productivity significantly. Many adaptive control techniques that can adjust the feedrate to maintain the constant cutting force have been reported. However, these controllers are not very widely used in manufacturing industry because of the limitations in measuring the cutting force signals. In this paper, turning force control systems based on the estimated cutting force signals are proposed. A synthesized cutting force monitor is introduced to estimate the cutting force as accurately as a dynamometer does. Three control strategies of PI, adaptive and fuzzy logic controllers are applied to investigate the feasibility of utilizing the estimated cutting force fur turning force control. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed systems can be easily realized in CNC lathe with requiring little additional hardware.

  • In the paper, we propose a design method for the logistics transportation system using magnetic levitation that has a good characteristics without mechanical friction, noise and dust. The proposed transportation system consists of a levitation control system and a propulsion control system. Magnetic levitation system is an electromagnetic suspension system in which electromagnet generates magnetic attractive force and the attractive force pulls the rail. We design a PID controller for the current control of electromagnets. We use linear induction motors for propulsion of the proposed logistics transportation system and adapt the space vector PWM method for the propulsion control system. The proposed transportation system using magnetic levitation is verified performances through levitation and propulsion experiments.

  • In this paper, AC electric vehicle propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) using high power semiconductor, IPM is proposed. 2-Parallel operation of two PWM converter is adopted for increasing capacity of system and the harmonic content is eliminated by the phase shaft between two PWM converters switching phase. VVVF inverter control is used a mixed control algorithm, where the vector control strategy at low speed region and slip-frequency control strategy at high speed region. The proposed propulsion system is verified by experimental results with a 1,350kW converter and 1,100kVA inverter with four 210kW traction motors.

  • Recently, multilevel H-bridge inverters have become popular in medium to high power ac drive applications. One of significant advantages of them is low harmonic contents in their input line currents thanks to the transformer with multiple phase-shifted secondary windings. This paper attempts to provide basic guidelines for the design of the phase shifting transformer windings and theoretical analysis of input line current harmonics of H-bridge inverters. The part I provides the derivation of basic relationships between input and output current of the transformer and the relationship between the phase shifting characteristics and design aspects of the transformer.

  • In this paper, a new control scheme to use 6-switch IGBI module for 3-phase switched reluctance motors(SRM) is proposed. Compared with the conventional asymmetric bridge converter topology, it can minimize the entire system size and cost. Therefore, it may have a new topology lot SRM to compare the other ac motors, such as induction motors, brushless dc motors, and so on. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation, and experimental results.

  • The speed control without a speed sensor is expected strongly to progress reliability, simplicity and cost performance of Induction Motor(I.M) systems. Also, it contributes to expansion of I.M systems into various industrial application fields. This paper investigates a novel speed sensorless control method of I.M considering the secondary resistance identification based on the transientless torque control technique. Especially, this paper aimed at the identification of the secondary resistance simultaneously with speed estimation superposing of sinusoidal flux wave to a constant flux value. Furthermore, the secondary flux with some frequency is controlled independently on torque control. The proposed speed estimation method is derived from a motor circuit equation theoretically and also it can be conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and primary voltage commands at every sampling time. Some numerical simulations with the assumption of using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage source inverter are performed to verify the proposed method.

A Study for Predicting Rotational Cutting Torque from Electrical Energy Required for Ground Drilling (지반절삭 전기에너지를 활용한 회전굴착토크 예측에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes a method to estimate drilling torque during ground boring with an aid of electrical energy required for rotating a boring-auger. Ground boring is commonly used in geotechnical engineering such as preboring precast pile installation, soil-cement grouting, ground exploration and so forth. In order to understand the correlation between required electrical energy to rotate the boring auger and the drilling torque, a small laboratory apparatus was designed and a pilot study was performed. The apparatus rotates common drill bits of $D=5{\sim}25mm$ in CBR specimens. The velocity of a bit is 19 RPM and predefined using a reduction gear which connects a main rotation axis to a 25 Watts AC electrical motor shaft. In the middle of drilling the motor current increments and the drilling torque were measured and the correlation between the current and the torque was obtained through linear square fits. Based on the correlation the acquired motor current during drilling was applied to predict the drilling torque in consequent testing and the prediction results were compared to the measured torque. The comparison leads a conclusion that the motor current during drilling using electrical power may be a good indicator to estimate/determine strength characteristics of the ground.
