Comparative Analysis Study of Introduction to Industry textbook for Technical High School (전문계 고등학교의 현행 공업입문 교과서 비교연구)

  • The major purposes of this study were 1) to present a desirable guideline for writers who would develop the new Introduction-to-Industry textbook through the comparative analysis of 4 different kinds of current Introduction-to-Industry textbooks, 2) to help educators, who make national college entrance exam in the vocational inquiry area, make good exam items with the results of the study, and 3) to offer effective methods of teaching and learning in the field of industrial education with them. Research method used in this study was mainly literature review with the scrutinization of the literature related to the Introduction-to-Industry textbooks. Results of this study showed that all textbooks compared do mostly comply with the national writer's specific guidelines for the Introduction-to-Industry textbooks. However there were varieties for the all textbooks in a sense of deployment balance for the contents of the textbook chapters. There were also considerable differences for the deployment of supplementary materials, evaluative materials, visual materials and etc. according to the characteristics of each textbook. The degree of the connectivity between the textbooks and the national college entrance exam in the area of the vocational inquiry was similar for the each textbook. However, it was not good enough for the students to study one textbook for the preparation of the exam in the vocational inquiry area because the problems in the exam were set in the range of covering the all different kinds of textbooks by the examiners.

  • There are differences in manner to be shown according to a basic point of view about knowledge in division which is traditional algorithm. The 1st and 2nd stage show didactic transpositions less systemic. The 3rd stage, which were influenced by the new math, uses logical mechanism. The 4th stage shows conceptual knowledge of the division independently. The 5th and 6th stage use concrete models which shows a course. The 7th stage constitutes contents systematically and shows many chances which focus on the formation of knowledge. The suggestions derived from such transition should be considered in the practice class and an elementary mathematics textbooks for meaningful learning.

  • Textbooks are the basic materials for school education and the best instruments that the teachers can use. The textbooks for information and communication technology education that are authorized by the superintendent of schools are currently used in the elementary schools and the various kinds of the ICT textbooks are adopted in accordance with the cities and provinces. In this study, we make a comparative study of the 11 ICT textbooks for year 4 students from the view points of the present conditions, the organizations, and the contents. Also, using Romey's method we investigate them whether their contents are suitable for the inquiring activities. We expect that our study will be the basis of the development of the next authorized ICT textbooks and contribute to the ICT education.

Elementary School Teachers' Perception of Digital Textbooks through Analysis of Perception of Digital Competence and Experience in Using Digital Textbooks (초등 교사의 디지털 교과서에 대한 인식 - 디지털 역량에 대한 인식과 디지털 교과서 활용 경험을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine elementary school teachers' perceptions of digital textbooks to gain insight into the development of digital textbooks. To this end, first, eight functions of the digital textbook were set, and two to six detailed functions were set for each function. Afterwards, based on this function, 372 elementary school teachers across the country were asked to ask about their perception of digital competence, their experience of using digital textbooks after COVIE-19 and their perception of digital textbooks. A simple regression analysis was used to examine the perception of digital textbooks according to the perception of digital competence and a one-way distribution analysis method was used to analyze the perception of digital textbooks according to the experience of using digital textbooks. The analysis found that elementary school teachers' confidence in their digital competence had a positive effect on all components of digital textbooks. In particular, the teachers' higher confidence in digital competence led to the increased need for 'operation and management' functions. In addition, the teachers who frequently use digital textbooks perceived a higher need for digital textbook components except for 'searching' and 'Authoring Tools Support' than teachers who do not use them. This paper shows that it is necessary to positively induce elementary school teachers' perceptions of digital competence and encourage using digital textbooks to successfully increase the usage of digital textbooks in classes.

An Analysis of 2009 Revised Elementary Mathematics 6th Grade Textbooks and Teacher's Manuals Based on STEAM-related Subject Contents (2009 개정 초등 수학 6학년 교과서 및 교사용 지도서의 STEAM 관련 교과 내용 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed what STEAM-related subject contents, except mathematical knowledge, are contained in 2009 revised elementary mathematics 6th grade textbooks and teacher's manuals. The STEAM-related subject contents in the textbooks and the teacher's manuals were examined by unit, by semester, and by strand of the content in the elementary school mathematics curriculum. The results are the following: First, in each unit and in each strand of mathematics, the most frequent STEAM-related subject content is storytelling, followed by the STEAM-related subject contents of technology and engineering, natural science, and social studies in order. On the other hand, the number of culture, physical education, music and fine arts contents is very small. Second, the number of STEAM-related subject contents in the textbook for the second semester(textbook 6-2) of the 6th grade year is 61 more than that in the textbook for the first semester(textbook 6-1). The number of non-storytelling STEAM-related subject contents in textbook 6-2 is 107, 2.7 times more than that in textbook 6-1. Third, the teacher's manual for textbook 6-1 is insufficient in complementing the textbook units which lack in STEAM-related subject contents, while the teacher's manual for textbook 6-2 is comparatively good in its complementing role. Therefore, it is recommended that we develop different STEAM materials for our 6th grade mathematics classes.

  • "6.25전쟁때 인쇄기를 열차에 싣고 대구로 내려가 초등학교용 전시 독본을 인쇄하던 일이 엊그제 같은데 벌써 80나이를 넘겼습니다. 세월은 그런가 봅니다." 교과서 출판의 제 1세대인 이대의 장왕사 사장(82.사진). 그가 최근 그동안 '교과서 출판과 인쇄'라는 외길 인생 길을 정리한 회고록 '나와 검인정 교과서'(중앙출판공사)를 펴냈다. 이 사장은 일본 메이지대학에 유학 중 학병문제로 귀국했다가 해방을 맞자 1945년 10월 출판사를 설립해 지리, 물리, 동양사 교과서를 발행하기 시작한 이후 50여년간 교과서 출판을 이끌어왔다. 이 사장은 "교과서 출판은 인쇄, 정책, 편집 등의 새로운 모델을 만들어 내는 산파역"이라면서 "출판 문화 발전과 교육 향상을 위해서 교과서 출판에 더많은 관심을 가져야 한다"고 강조했다. 계원조형예술대학 출판디자인과 이기성교수의 부친이기도 한 이대의 사장을 만나 교과서인쇄에 얽힌 이야기를 들어봤다.

Analysis of Differences of Explanation on Gas Pressure and Atmospheric Pressure in Science Textbooks (과학 교과서에서 기압과 대기압에 대한 설명 방식의 차이점 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed differences of explanation on gas pressure and atmospheric pressure in elementary and secondary school science textbooks and general chemistry and general earth science textbooks based on three types of explanation criteria: first, explanation of mass; second, explanation of air pressure on unit area; third. explanation of molecular motion. The results were as follows. Elementary science textbook belonged to the first type. All of the secondary school chemistry textbooks belonged to the third type. But most of the general chemistry textbooks belonged to the first and second type. Most of the earth science textbooks for secondary school and most of the general earth science textbooks belonged to the first type. Therefore, the differences of explanation could disturb students' understanding on gas pressure and atmospheric pressure.

The Influence of Textbooks Applying Gamification Motivation Strategy on Learners' Interest: Social Textbooks for 3rd Graders in Elementary School (게이미피케이션 동기 전략을 적용한 교과서가 학습자의 흥미에 미치는 영향: 초등 3학년 사회 교과서를 중심으로)

  • The social studies, mathematics, and science textbooks of the elementary curriculum will begin to be authorized from 2022. This study explores the effect of textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy on learner interest. For this purpose, this study analyzes whether the systematic application of the gamification motivation strategy to elementary studies textbooks, which will be authorized from 2022, can develop this textbook into a "learner-centered curriculum book that induces interest." More specifically, this study applied Kumsung Publishing's experimental social studies textbooks in class and conducted a questionnaire among 121 third graders to verify the effectiveness of the textbooks. The results show that studies textbooks based on a gamification motivation strategy greatly influence increased learner interest in the classroom. The textbooks also represent a positive influence in learner understanding, interest, and curiosity regarding the class content and assistance. Demonstrating that gamification motivation strategy is worthwhile to actively apply in future textbook development for the enhancement of learners' interests, this study is significant in that it has presented a meaningful textbook development model.

  • 2019학년도 초등학교 5-6학년군에 2015 개정 교육과정이 전면 적용된다. 본 논문에서는 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 실과 검정 교과서 6종 소프트웨어 교육 단원의 외적 체제를 비교 분석하였다. 단원 체제 분석 결과 모든 교과서에 공통적으로 대단원명, 대단원 차례, 중단원명, 본문텍스트, 본문삽화, 용어 설명, 단원 마무리 등이 제시되어 있었다. 단원 구성 분석 결과 소프트웨어 교육 단원은 전체 교과서 분량의 18.8~25%까지 교과서별로 다양한 비율을 차지하고 있었다. 후속 연구로는 본 논문에서 다룬 교과서의 외적 체제 뿐 아니라 내적 체제 까지를 포함하여 각 교과서의 소프트웨어 교육 단원을 전체적인 틀에서 비교 분석 할 것이다.
