A Study on the Guidance Design for the Metro Station's Effective Sign Awareness (도시 철도역의 효과적인 안내사인 전달을 위한 디자인 연구)

  • Metro stations are public places used by many people. If they use the station frequently, there is no struggling to find a way. But the first tourists or foreigners to visit are facing finding difficulties because of errors of the complicated sign and information. This study is the guidance of the metro station sign to provide effective information system and the research on the design improvement of metro station. In the first survey for this study I proceeded research about the concept of sign systems in metro station and literature search. In the second survey, I researched needs of the problems of the metro station users. In the third survey, I investigated Busan Metro Station's problems and design to improve the guide sign. In the survey results, users had a lot of difficulties in finding information because systematically increasing amount of information and guidance of the metro station. People can't find information because of sign indiscreet commercial advertising. Also they can get false information from sign without unity. To deal with these problems the metro station needs to improve design for a second-class citizen and refrain commercial advertising and design for information transfer capability.

  • The aim of this study is to examine and compare Koreans and Japanese creativities in advertising. It was to analyze empirically their creativities appreciated in 200 TV commercials broadcasted between 1992 and 1998. The content analysis, was a useful process, provided very important clues for comparative analysis. Many difference were found in the examined TV commercials in Korea and Japan. It showed major difference in ways in which the level of noise, the using of cuts, social space, camera work, etc. except preference of jingle, colors, elements of tradition. The most distinctive difference is that the Japanese TV commercials deal with atmosphere than the Korean commercials. This result may help to explain a common social phenomenon of not losing the original culture in each society, as a result of "international acculturation" and the subsequent "indigenization by adaptive change"

An Exploratory Study on Classes-related Stress Typical Difference of Creative′s - Regarding Advertisement Agency in Korea- (크리에이티브 직군들의 직급에 따른 스트레스 유형 차이에 관한 연구 -국내 광고대행사 중심으로-)

  • This study was done to investigate the situation of classes-related stress in creative's of korean advertising industry. Though creative's are carrying out the most important roles in advertising agency, there has not been much study on them. In this point view, this study approached by examining prior studies on classes-related stress. The findings of this study were as followings ; In all classes, client related stress were the highest. The classes of the directors of bureaus have the highest stress on the average of five high items in the stress detail items. The classes of the staffs have higher stress, and the next is the classes of the heads of departments. The classes of the directors have higher stress about themselves especially. The classes of heads have higher stress for family complain about holiday work than any other classes relatively. The classes of the staffs have higher stress for heavy duty than any other classes. The classes of the directors of bureaus have higher stress in the situation change like presentation than any other classes. There can be many conditions about advertisement creative team members‘stress. I have made dear the internal stress structure according to the classes in the thesis partially. The stress for the classes‘structure can not be solved easily, so it will hare an effect on all members normally if the stress exists for a long time. This study should be continued by reasonable and systematic method. A successful creative's come out from an advertising agency's organizational system, but the organization, after all, is made up of creative's ability and endeavor.

The Influence of Humor Effects for the Corporate Image (유머효과가 기업이미지에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 광고에서의 유머효과를 중심으로 -)

  • It is impossible that the corporation can make up good corporate images with sales promoting and pursuing profits only. To form impressive oorporate images, the corporation should acquire efficient marketing images and social oonfidences with the investment for the culture, the art, the preservation of public health, educations and social welfare programs. The oorporate image is indined to be formed by audiences subjectively even though the corporation makes great efforts to have its unique images. The audience has a tendency to have their subjective opinions about the corporate image based on several informations communicated by the corporation and various sources. The sensitive approach and emotional persuation can be efficient for making good corporate images because corporate images of audiences arise from emotional and sensitive factors rather than rational ones. There are many previous studies verifying that the humor effect should be one of powerful means for inducing concentrations, memorizations and persuations. The majority of popular advertisings are humor touched one and the questionaire proves that almost all university students participating sample test, prefer humorous advertisings to serious advertisings. The questionaire verifies that it is a most efficient method is using humor effects at product advertising to improve the corporate image indirectly. And there are very possitive reactions about applying humor effects for the corporate image advertising and the other advertisement types such as pamphlets and catalogues. The humor effect motivates the persuation with spiritual pleasures and intimacy, and it minimize the negative aspects of advertising for the formation of the corporate image. The humor effect is valuable not only for the formation of the corporate image reflecting the entity of the oorporation itself but also for the ideation of advertising communications. The study on the humor effect related with the corporate image is significant because the humor is a different version of the humanism based on deep oontemplation and oomprehension of human life rather than simple means to motivate laughers.

Advertisement Criticism through Audience Response and Communication Efficacy - focused on KT&G TV-CM text - (수용자 반응 중심의 광고비평과 커뮤니케이션 실효성 - KT&G TV광고 텍스트를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate communication efficacy of advertisement text through audience responses. This study approached qualitatively to KT&G TV commercials. The research proceeded as follows: First, as background theory, studies on audience focusing advertisement criticism and the interpretation of advertising texts were reviewed. Secondly, the characteristics of the audiences of the advertisements, analyzed through in-depth individual interviews as well as group interviews, were incorporated into a broad theme and then divided into different dimensions. Finally, the audiences' decoding code and critic reponses in reading ambiguous advertising texts, and the interrelationship between strategic ambiguity were discussed under a unified model. The major findings of this study are as follows: In interpreting the ambiguous advertising texts, the audiences use various decoding codes such as language, visuals, technology and rhetoric, and various critic responses such as linguistic, macroscopic, schematic, non-verbal and socio-cultural factors, in quite comprehensive manner. Also, it was shown that audiences make use of different decoding strategies in terms of their recognition, reliability, emotional attitude, and behavior. It can therefore be concluded that the strategic ambiguity has its limit in explaining its effectiveness in the entire dimensions of recognition, emotional attitude, and behavior, in the sense that the strategic ambiguity is most effective in recognition while it invokes more negativity in the behavioral dimension. Finally, this empirical study, focusing on qualitative analyses, may have its limit as well; however, deeper statistic-qualitative studies in the future could compensate for it.

  • 심미적차원의 접근을 통한 영상디자인의 틀을 인간이 가진 오감의 특성을 최대 활용하여 전시상황에 따른 감성문법을 활용하여 감각적이며 사용자중심의 니즈에 맞는 선택적이며 시대흐름에 맞는 패턴분석을 적용하여 감성적인 욕구를 심리적인 방법으로 파악하며 영상으로 접근하는 것이다. 이러한 감성패턴분석들은 VJ(비디오쟈키)의 영상활용과 증강현실, 전시디자인의 광고 또한 건축물에 있어서 효과적인 영상활용법을 적용한 감성디자인의 확장을 보여주고 있다. 오감을 활용한 인터랙티브한 미디어아트에서의 영상활용과 콘서트홀에서의 관객과 소통을 인한 커뮤니케이션장치들이 확장되며 도구들 속에서 진정한 인간의 통합된 감각을 전달하기 위한 감성이 필요하다. 이번 연구를 통하여 감성디자인을 적용한 영상사례들을 살펴보며 소통을 위한 감성디자인의 영상을 활용하여 최적화된 전시디자인에 활용되는 감성적 접근방법과 활용에 대해 이해하고자 한다.

  • No mater how brilliant brain a man has, as time goes by, it is certain to fall into a lapse of memory phenomenon in according to cease to exist as a matter of course. But as previously stated, there is no room for douby, if we make advertising information for being changed into a sign which is to be treated easily and simplified, we can easily memory and withdraw it. In other words, the information is to be coded simpler, the memory and recollection of it is to be easier as wll as we can raise the precision rate. Good many advertising today, it appears, try to raise the acknowlegement rate with shock of good-sized and exposure frequency. In this advertising form, we can aspire to the intention of advertiser to try to get lapse of the message of advertising. Of course, even if it cannot be an index of every advertising information called simplified memory and recollection rate, it should be emphasized that it cannot but have something to do with the consumer's memory. Which to be obtained by invested advertisement. As for it, there are so many things to be taken charge of a lots of content by graphic designer: to be obtained mental distribution of resources inconnected with a desire of consumer, to be converted memory information into being less than that and treated easier, and to be correlated the memory information with the previously known things.

Cassandre′s Posters of the Subject ′Travelling′ (카산드르의 ′여행′을 주제로 한 포스터)

  • There are posters of a tourist and traffics as like railroads and ships among Cassandre's posters, and they are common in dealing with 'travelling'. This series of travelling posters which includes many of his representative works, are important in the point of showing his unique styles and the process how Hey have been changed. In this thesis, I tried to analyze, especially in the plastic and graphic aspects, how Cassandre catch the peoples' desire and dreams of the travelling and images on the mechanical property of railroads and ships in 1920's and 1930's and how he put them into his works. I think that has revealed sense and visual language which has revealed through this analysis still give some messages to advertising media of moving images based on electronic technology today.
