Development of Virtual Experienced Frog Learning System (가상체험 개구리 학습 시스템 개발)

  • 본 논문은 가상현실 기술을 이용하여 개구리에 관한 내용을 보다 실감 있게 학습할 수 있도록 제작된 개구리 학습 교육용 소프트웨어이다. 개구리 학습시스템은 생명의 존엄성과 자연보호측면 그리고 생물 혹은 과학기술과정과 연계해서 개구리 이야기, 개구리 겉모양, 개구리 생활, 개구리 특징, 개구리의 내부구조관찰, 한국의 개구리, 형성평가문제, 학습목표 8가지로 구성되어 있다. 특히 개구리 내부구조 관찰은 초 중 고 학생들의 필수 학습과정으로 되어 있으나 학생들은 해부에 대한 혐오감과 거부감 등이 그대로 한해 수만$\sim$십여만 마리의 개구리해부는 자연보호 환경차원에서 개구리의 몰락을 가져올 수가 있어서 가상적 해부가 필요하다 하겠다. 본 논문은 이러한 점을 착안하여 가상적으로 개구리를 해부하지 않고도 가르칠 수 있고 생명의 존엄성에 대해 부정적인 전통적 해부실험 대신 가상적으로 해부할 수 있는 시스템을 제안하고 구현하였다.

  • Almost teachers have some basic questions about the effective teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to develop an alternative tool to observe and analyze an instruction based on the learning theories providing the theoretical rationalities for learners to study not only in daily their life but also in their class and to apply it as an example. This study showed some suggestions analyzing an instruction theoretically through out some filters based on learning theories. Recently various learning theories have been studied and accumulated. This study developed an alternative tool to observe and analyze an instruction based on the Behaviorism, the Cognitivism and the Constructivism in the middle of these learning theories and it was applied to observe and analyze a actual class of the informatics subject. The expectation is for teachers to reflect or improve their classes using the alternative tool.

  • This study is focused on how much middle school students who study the chapter of first-grade science,'The Material and Change of the Earth's Crust', connect and understand what they learn with their environment and surroundings. This paper will discuss the connection between school education and living surroundings and how much the difference between the surroundings influences students' concepts and attitudes toward science. This study included 330students in the second year of middle schools from Jeonju, Buan and Jinan in Jeollabuk-do. This study analyzed students' concepts of mineral and rocks by having them observe samples in class. Only 16 percent of the students observe surrounding rocks with interest, but most of them are not interested. Chaesukgang and Mountain Mai are two local places in Jeollabuk-do which have a lot of specific stratum and geological structures, so it's easy for teachers to provide an outdoor experience by showing the students rocks and geological structures. Although which students have a little more observation experience than Jeonju area students, students who throughout the county seldom do outdoor observation learning. By collecting and observing the surrounding minerals and rocks, along with teaching the chapter 'The Materials and Change of the Earth's Crust', and by visiting outdoor locations while teaching about geological structures, we can improve our teaching.

  • The purpose of the paper was to develop an observation measure for analyzing the teaching and learning activities in ubiquitous-based learning. To develop the measure, we reviewed the literature related to the measure and identified the valid observation domain and indicators. In the procedure, we did a pilot study for validating the measure and its indicators, and in the end, finalized it. The observation measure consists of: types of instruction, teaching and learning strategies, learning activities, use of technology, evaluation process, and wrap-up. In addition, we added the qualitative domain, which needs for monitoring and writing more specific teaching and learning activities in ubiquitous-based learning.

  • It is necessary to Self Directed Astronomy Learning based on web to bring up individuality and creativity. Accordingly, the contents of this study is constructed by Astronomy which connects with our life but unable to observe actually. The contents is dynamic animation for learner's interest. The learners are able to decide their grade for themselves through the on-line evaluation according to their precedence learning. The Learner is able to evaluate by multiple-choice provide feedback by realtime. The contents is learned by themselves and introduced by the familiar contents in the real life, that is presented as the subject of experiment or observation connected with learning contents in the life.

A Case Study of project-based learning strategy in Blended learning environment (혼합 학습(Blended learning) 환경에서 프로젝트 학습법 실천 사례)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and apply the project-based learning strategy in blended learning environment to raise and enhance scientific thinking skill, creativity, and problem solving skills to students who would be teachers of an elementary school in the future. This study was conducted as an action research based on an educational university. The study included 25 participants in a class. Data were collected through observation, surveys, interview and students' artifacts. Results indicated the project-based learning strategy in blended learning environment allowed students to raise problem solving skill, critical thinking skill, and creativity. Finally implications of this study, obstacles to conduct this study, and recommendations to implement this strategy more effectively and efficiently were presented.

Comparative Analysis of Generalization and Justification of the Mathematically Gifted 6th Graders by Learning Styles (초등학교 6학년 수학영재학생들의 학습유형에 따른 일반화 및 정당화 비교 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze mathematically gifted students' characteristics of generalization and justification for a given mathematical task and induce didactical implications for individual teaching methods by students' learning styles. To do this, we identified the learning styles of three mathematically gifted 6th graders and observed their processes in solving a given problem. Paper-pencil environment as well as dynamic geometrical environment using Geogebra were provided for three students respectively. We collected and analyzed qualitatively the research data such as the students' activity sheets, the students' records in Geogebra, our observation reports about the processes of generalization and justification, and the records of interview. The results of analysis show that the types of the students' generalization are various while the level of their justifications is identical. Futhermore, their preference of learning environment is also distinguished. Based on the results of analysis, we induced some implications for individual teaching for mathematically gifted students by learning styles.

  • 과학은 국민들의 기본적인 과학적 소양을 육성하기 위한 교과로서 과학적인 기본 소양을 기르기 위한 과목이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 과학 교육에 발견 학습 모형을 도입함으로서 학습자 스스로 인터넷을 통해 다양한 자료와 정보를 수집하고 이를 토대로 일반화시키고, 또한 규칙성을 찾아내어 개념형성을 통해 일상생활 속에서 다양하게 활용할 수 있는 능력을 신장시키고자 한다. 본 연구는 웹의 다양한 자료를 활용하여 현재 실험과 관찰의 한계를 극복하고, 학생 스스로 자기 주도적 학습을 통해 자연 현상의 규칙성을 찾아내고, 개개인의 다양한 형태를 반영한 발견 학습 모형을 개발하고 또한 구현한다. 이를 통해 시공간적 제약, 관찰 대상의 어려움, 비용적 측면, 실험으로 인한 환경 파괴 등을 극복하고자 한다.

  • We developed a Web courseware using multimedia based on STS(Science-Technology-Society) and constructivism on fossil of fourth grade natural science in Primary school, which is recognized to be hard to simulate and watch the phenomena in real life. At present, there are several researches manifesting the effectiveness of the theory with off-line instructional materials. However, there are few results which demonstrate its ability on the Web. The main objective of the paper is to apply the STS theory on a Web courseware and to observe its efficacy. The Web courseware based on the theory allows students to observe and experiment in the Web environment and to have diverse experiences and thoughts through communication via Web. The paper shows that Web courseware based on STS theory can improve its effectiveness in a collaborative learning environment by providing Web facilities such as E-mail, Web search, information sharing, chatting, and so on.

  • This study intends to understand the practice of elementary school mathematics education, focusing on the teaching and learning methods. To achieve these goals, we reviewed and analysed instructional methods pertaining to both (general) pedagogy and mathematics education. And we designed and implemented a questionnaire survey regarding the elementary school teachers' opinions. Moreover, we observed several mathematics lessons of elementary school to understand better the practice of teaching and learning. From these survey and observation, we learned several important aspects of investigation and development of instructional methods.
