Pre-seasonal Physical Examination of Professional Soccer Team (프로 축구팀의 시즌 전 체력검사)

  • Purpose: In the professional soccer team, we performed pre-seasonal physical examination and analyzed the results to establish a standardization data in relation to their position. Materials and Methods: We performed physical examination to the professional soccer team, consisted 34 player's average age 24.9 years. The examination performed were questionnaire on history, musculoskeletal examination, muscle power test, physiologic test, functional test. Results: According to the relationship between player position and injury pattern,. Knee injuries are most frequent on history. Physical examination outcome was that forward were prone to flexor hallucis longus tendinitis, midfielder for chronic ankle instability, defender for achilles tendinitis. Isokinetic test was done at dominant side, Peak torque to body weight ratio was 55.1%. Physiologic test checked body fat percentage was midfielder was superior as 19.8 (SD 2.9). Functional test out-come was that back strength 125 N. sergeant jump 59.6 cm, reaction time 208.5 sec, flexibility 19.2 m/s, side step 39.9 cm. Conclusion: Pre-seasonal physical examination gave us the standardization data and preventive measurement could be advocated from this results.

  • Screw loosening and screw fracture of abutment is one of most frequent mechanical complications in implant restoration. Fractured fragments in implant restoration like abutment and screw should be completely removed and the procedure needs minimal damage to the fixture of implant. In some cases, it could fail to remove fractured fragments and cause a lot of damage to the fixture of implant. These situations could render implant unusable at the worst. This article describes three different situations and simple techniques for successful removal of fractured fragments without damage of implants. The procedures used are described in this clinical report.

  • The moving object monitoring and transforming personal robot system based on remote controls is designed and implemented, and the performance of the system is analyzed in this paper. The major considering factors in the system design are such as 1) the control scheme design (button based and the remote control schemes); 2) the operation modes design (wheel driving mode/pedestrian mode/auto driving mode/observation mode); 3) the remote control function design; 4) the design of the monitoring function of the changes in neighbor environments; 5) the design of the detection of obstruction. From the experiments, it is assured that the developed personal robot can walk to the grounds that covered with doorsill or electric wires in indoors by control the leg articulations, and can escape from the obstruction using three infrared sensors in the 30cm*30cm obstruction styled space under the auto driving mode.

  • The properties of ceramics by solid-state reaction with hydroxyapatite[$Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6(OH)_2$], which was isolated from tuna bone by wet milling process were investigated. The bulk density $2.93g/cm^3$ at $1350^{\circ}C$ was close to the calculated density $3.21g/cm^3$. On X-ray measurements, the major phases were identified as hydroxyapatite at below $1300^{\circ}C$, but the whitlockite [$Ca_3(PO_4)_2$] phases were appeared due to a decomposition of hydroxyapatite with temperature. The microstructures of sintering specimens were shown as small closed pores between grain boundaries. The mean bending strength of the sintered hydroxyapatite by solid-state reaction is about 58 MPa and this value is higher than that of the articular cartilage maximum strength, 40MPa.

Dimensional stability of rubber impression materials immersed in iodophor disinfectant (요오드 소독제에 침전된 고무인상재의 체적안정성)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the dimensional stability of three rubber impression materials (polysulfide, polyvinylsiloxane, polyether) in an iodophor disinfectant. Materials and Methods: Seventy-two impressions were made with each material and divided into control, 10-minute, and 30-minute immersion groups using an iodophor as the disinfectant. A microscope was used to measure dimensional changes in the stone casts made from each group of impressions, and the percent change was analyzed using a two-way ANOVA (P = 0.05). Results: All dimensional changes after iodophor disinfection were small in 10 minute groups, however, showed significantly increased in 30 minute groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Clinically, it can be recommended to use iodophor disinfectant for rubber materials within 10 minute.

  • Human motion tracking algorithm is receiving attention from many research areas, such as human computer interaction, video conference, surveillance analysis, and game or entertainment applications. Over the last decade, various tracking technologies for each application have been demonstrated and refined among them such of real time computer vision and image processing, advanced man-machine interface, and so on. In this paper, we introduce cost-effective and real-time human motion tracking algorithms based on depth image 3D point matching with a given superellipsoid body representation. The body representative model is made by using parametric volume modeling method based on superellipsoid and consists of 18 articulated joints. For more accurate estimation, we exploit initial inverse kinematic solution with classified body parts' information, and then, the initial pose is modified to more accurate pose by using 3D point matching algorithm.

  • In this paper, the mechanism that can walk efficiently in wet land or sand area is proposed. A vision camera is attached to the mechanism, which makes a kind of biologically inspired robot for coast guard. This visionary information enables the biologically inspired robot to react in peripheral environment by a soft-computing algorithm. In addition, the biologically inspired robot can achieve the mission appointed by a programmer connecting with outside, based on RF and Blue-tooth communication module. Therefore, the purpose of this research is the implementation of the biologically inspired robot that can operate most adaptively in sand and wet surface based on Theo Jansen mechanism.

  • Synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon disease of cartilage transformation of synovial membrane with formation of loose bodies within the joint space. The involvement of temporomandibular joint is very rare. Symtoms include swelling, pain, stiffness of the jaw, and inability to close the jaw. A case involving the temporomandibular joint(TMJ) and non-symptoms is presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 진화연산 기법중 GP(Genetic Programming)를 이용한 관절좌표계 상에서의 걸음새 자동생성 기법과 생물체의 신경발생 신호 원리를 이용한 CPG(Central Pattern Generator) 기법을 구현한다. 바이올로이드로 구성된 4족 보행로봇에 대하여 Webots기반의 ODE 시뮬레이션을 통해 접근 기법들에 대한 최적화를 수행하고 결과를 비교 분석한다. 그리고 구해진 시뮬레이션과 결과를 실제 로봇에 대해서 각 동작을 실행시켜 보면서 CPG와 GP 기반 걸음새 방식 실제적인 성능 및 특성도 고찰한다.

The Effects of Somatosensory Stimulations with Joints Mobilization in Foot on Balance and Gait Speed in Some Elderly Women - Case Survey (발에 대한 관절가동술을 병행한 체성감각자극이 일부 노인 여성의 균형과 보행속도에 미치는 영향-사례조사)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of somatosensory stimulations with joints mobilization in foot on balance and gait speed in elderly women. Methods: This study included 2 female participants aged 72 years. Participants received somatosensory simulations with joints mobilization on both foot for 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week, during a 4 week period. All subjects were assessed using a BT(balance trainer)-4 balance measurement and timed up and go test (TUG), 10m walk test (10MWT). Results: It has been found that static length and static area were reduced and limits of stability was increased in 2 females. TUG test was improved but gait speed was not significantly difference. Conclusion: Those results indicate that somatosensory stimulations with joints mobilization is effective in elderly women to promoting a static and dynamic balance ability.
