  • cyclone은 원심력을 이용하여 입자를 포집하는 집진장치로 간단한 구조 때문에 입자의 전처리 장치로 많이 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 미세 입자의 제어가 어렵고, 포집 효율의 증가를 위해 유량을 증가시킬 경우 유랑의 증가에 의한 압력손실과 에너지의 손실이 증가하며, 유량을 감소시킬 경우 입자의 포집 효율이 급격히 감소하는 점 등의 단점이 있다. 따라서, 미세 입자에 대한 포집 효율을 증가시키기 위해 싸이클론의 구조 및 형채를 변화시키는 많은 연구가 수행된 바 있다(Lim et al., 2001; Lim et al., 2003). 본 연구에서는 granule에 의한 관성충돌 효과를 이용하여, 일반적인 cyclone의 설계를 목적으로 하였다.   • 본 연구에서는 기계 기구의 각속도 변동을 줄이는데 사용되는 플라이휠을 운동에너지의 법칙을 이용하여 해석하고, 주어진 허용 각속도 변동률을 정확히 만족하 는 플라이휠의 크기를 결정하는 새로운 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 수치 해석을 통하 여 본 해석방법에 의해 설계된 플라이휠과 종래 방법에 의한 플라이휠의 성능을 비교 하였다.

Crashworthy behaviour of cellular polymer under constant impact energy (동일 충격 에너지 조건하에서 다공질 고분자의 충격거동에 관한 연구)

  • Characterisation of the stress-strain relationship as well as crashworthiness of cellular polymer was investigated under constant impact energy with different velocities, considering inertia and strain rate effects simultaneously during the impact testing. Quasi-static and impact tests were carried out for two different density (64 $kg/m^3$, 89 $kg/m^3$) cellular polymer specimens. Also, the equations, coupled with the Sherwood-Frost model and the Impulse-Momentum theory, were employed to build the constitutive relation of the cellular polymer. The nominal stress-strain curves obtained from the constitutive relation were compared with results from impact tests and showed to be in good agreement.

  • Growing demand for electricity, when combined with the need to limit carbon emissions, drives a huge increase in renewable energy industry. In the electric power system, electricity supply always needs to be balanced with electricity demand and network losses to maintain safe, dependable, and stable system operation. There are three broad challenges when it comes to a power system with a high penetration of renewable energy: transient stability, small signal stability, and frequency stability. Transient stability analyze the system response to disturbances such as the loss of generation, line-switching operations, faults, and sudden load changes in the first several seconds following the disturbance. Small signal stability refers to the system's ability to maintain synchronization between generators and steady voltages when it is subjected to small perturbations such as incremental changes in system load. Frequency stability refers to the ability of a power system to maintain steady frequency following a severe system upset resulting in significant imbalance between generation and load. In this paper, we discusses these stability using system simulation by renewable energy deployment plan, and also analyses the influence of the renewable energy sources to the grid stability.

Impact Absorption Performance of Multi-layered Composite Structures based on Material-Structure Optimization (소재-구조 최적화 기반 다층-복합재료구조 충격흡수성능)

  • Total thickness, areal density and mass moment of inertia of materials are important material factors for structural characteristics. In this work, a material-structural optimization was performed up to the maximum ballistic limit of multi-layered composite structures under high impact velocity followed by the investigation of the influence of these factors on an impact absorption performance. A unified model combined with Florence's and Awerbuch-Bonder's models was used in optimizing the multi-layered composite structure consisting of CMC, rubber, aluminum and Al-foam. Total thickness, areal density and mass moment of inertia were used for the optimization constraint. As shown in the results, the ballistic limit determined from a newly developed unified model was closely similar to the finite clement analysis. Additionally, the ballistic limit and impact absorption energy obtained by the optimized structure were improved approximately 16.8% and 26.7%, respectively comparing with a not optimized multi-layered structure.

Energy Flow Finite Element Analysis(EFFEA) of Coplanar Coupled Mindlin Plates (동일 평면상에서 연성된 Mindlin 판 구조물의 에너지흐름유한요소해석)

  • Energy flow analysis(EFA) is a representative method that can predict the statistical energetics of structures at high frequencies. Generally, as the frequency increases, the shear distortion and rotatory inertia effects in the out-of-plane motion of beams or plates become important. Therefore, to predict the out-of-plane energetics of coupled structures in the high frequency range, the energy flow analyses of Timoshenko beam and Mindlin plate are required. Unlike the energy flow model of Kirchhoff plate, the energy flow model of Mindlin plate is composed of three kinds of energy governing equations(out-of-plane shear wave, bending dominant flexural wave, and shear dominant flexural wave). This paper performed the energy flow finite element analysis(EFFEA) of coplanar coupled Mindlin plates. For EFFEA of coplanar coupled Mindlin plates, the energy flow finite element formulation of out-of-plane energetics in the Mindlin plate was performed. The general EFFEA program was implemented by MATLAB® language. For the verification of EFFEA of Mindlin plate, the various numerical applications were done successfully.

  • Vehicles usually have 3 types of speed pattern like acceleration, travel, and deceleration. It requires much driving energy from engine while accelerating, preserves much kinetic energy by inertia moment at travel speed, and releases the kinetic energy to the air while decelerating by the break system. If we accumulate the kinetic energy while decelerating and reuse the energy at the accelerating stage, then it can elevate the fuel efficiency, reduce the emission and improve the motive power. This paper proposes a hydraulic type energy regenerative system which converts the kinetic energy into hydraulic energy at the stage of deceleration and reuses it at the starting and accelerating stage of vehicles. The test equipment which has the field condition of city bus was prepared to evaluate the performance for energy regeneration. The test results show that both energy regeneration efficiency and fuel efficiency are improved significantly and the emission is reduced notably.

  • 본 논문은 인간의 보행에 대한 에너지 분석을 통해 biped robot의 설계 단계에서 최적의 보행제어인자를 추출하기 위한 연구이다. 에너지 효율이 높은 보행인자 값을 얻기 위해 인간의 보행영상을 획득하고, 획득된 영상을 5-link biped robot model로 근사화하여 dynamics와 energy를 분석한다. 또한 link의 길이 비율과 link의 무게, link의 관성의 변화를 통해 5-link로 근사화된 인간의 보행 효율과 기구적 요소 사이의 민감도를 판단할 수 있다. 인간과 자유도가 다른 biped robot이 인간과 같은 보행을 위하여 설계단계에서 고려되어야할 중요한 기구적 요소가 이러한 민감도를 통해 구해진다.

  • 풍력을 이용한 풍력발전기의 효율적 전력변환 시스템을 연구개발하기 위해서는 바람의 특성을 실내에서 정확히 구현할 수 있는 모의시험장치인 시뮬레이터가 요구된다. 모의시험장치는 바람을 받아 회전하는 블레이드 대신 풍속 값을 입력하여 전동기가 발전기에 토오크(torque)를 공급하게 된다. 모의시험장치를 설계하고 구현에 있어서 중요한 요소는 블라인드의 관성시정수와 축소모델인 5.83kW 모델 발전기 설계제작 그리고 고효율의 전력변환장치 설계 및 인버터 특성 알고리즘 구현이다. 본 논문은 2MW Gearless형 풍력발전기 KBP-2000M을 400:1 축소하여 제작한 모의실험장치에 최고의 출력 파워를 얻도록 Pitch Control 알고리즘을 적용한 측정 결과를 소개한다.

  • In this paper, doubly-fed induction-type wind power generation system simulation model for grid connection is developed. The simulation model is based on PSCAD/EMTDC and consists of rotor-blade, blade controller, generator power converter and generator controller Blade controller controls the blade pitch angle for starting, peak power limiting and emergency condition. Generator controller controls the generator output power to maximize the system efficiency. Simulation results are shown for the variable wind speed conditions. The simulation model can be utilized for study of actual interaction between wind turbine and grid for reliable operation and protection of power system.
