On the Relationship of Income and Life Satisfaction: a Comparison of Absolute and Relative Theory (소득과 전반적 삶의 만족 간의 관계:욕구이론과 비교이론의 대비)

  • In this study I attempted to compare the two contrasting theories on life satisfaction; alsolute or relative. I could confirm a positive curve-linear relationship of income and life satisfaction among Koreans as in many previous studies. A relative hypothesis saying that one's relative superiority on education could bring about more satisfaction was partly supported in this study. On the other hand, another relative hypothesis saying that income increase could make more satisfaction than income decrease over time on a identical level of income was rejected. This result suggests that income increase can not give more satisfaction in addition to more affluence simply because of the fact that one's current income is higher than his or her previous level of income.

  • Consumers' interest in performance art is increasing with the advent of the 'culture era', and there is a need for marketing strategies for market base expansion and research in order to achieve this. Therefore, the aim of this study was to empirically establish the effect of service quality factors perceived by consumers during musical performances on audiences' relationship quality. Research results showed that the quality of the physical environment and of results, i.e. service quality, affected commitment and satisfaction, and quality of interaction had a significant effect on satisfaction. Moreover, commitment and satisfaction with relationship quality had a significant effect on loyalty. This study confirmed which service quality elements were considered important for audiences' commitment and satisfaction when attending musical performances, and thus suggests opportunities to understand audiences' consumer behavior and better improve their relationship quality.

The Effect of Employment Status of People with Disabilities on Family Relationship Satisfaction: Focusing on Mediating Effects of Asset and Depression (장애인 가구원의 취업여부가 가족관계만족도에 미치는 영향: 자산수준과 우울감의 매개효과 검증)

  • This study investigates paths among factors influencing family relationship satisfaction of person with disability using path analysis and the 11th panel data of KoWePS(Korean Welfare Panel Study). While key independent variables include employment status, assets and depression are mediators. The result of this study are as follows: First, employment status, assets, and depression are found to have direct effect on family relationship satisfaction. Second, assets are found to have direct effect on depression. Third, we found full mediating effect of assets between employment status and depression. Fourth, we found not full but partial mediating effect of depression between assets and family relationship satisfaction. Finally, we found multiple partial mediating effects of employment status and family relationship satisfaction. The findings proposed that economic education as well as asset management targeting the disabled are required and very helpful to support their family relationship satisfaction. The Relationship between Lifestyle and Life Satisfaction of Single-Person Youth Households: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Interpersonal Relationship and the Moderating Effect of Parents' Socioeconomic Status (청년 1인 가구의 라이프 스타일과 삶의 만족도와의 관계: 대인관계의 매개효과와 부모의 사회·경제적 지위의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study is a research study aimed at finding out the relationship between lifestyle and life satisfaction of single youth households and the relationship between the mediating role of interpersonal relationships and the effect of parents' social and economic status regulation in the relationship between lifestyle and life satisfaction. To this end, this study conducted a self-written survey of single-person youth households across the country through an online survey institution, regardless of gender, and used a total of 501 copies out of 520 subjects for final results analysis. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0 programs, and the applied statistical techniques included correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model analysis, multi-group analysis, and bootstrap. As a result of the study, there was a significant positive (+) correlation between lifestyle, life satisfaction, and interpersonal relationships of single youth households, and interpersonal relationships were found to have a mediating effect in the relationship between lifestyle and life satisfaction. It was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on income and income satisfaction, but the moderating effect of education, economic activity, housing ownership type, and class consciousness was not significant. Based on the results of these studies, it was intended to provide basic data for developing various community programs and institutional arrangements for single youth households.

Relationships between Brand Satisfaction and Store Loyalty in Retail Service Firm: The Causal Role among Store Satisfaction, Brand Trust and Store Trust (소매 서비스 기업에서 브랜드만족과 점포충성도 관계: 점포만족, 브랜드신뢰 및 점포신뢰의 인과적 역할)

  • The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the relationships between brand satisfaction and store loyalty by examining the role of brand trust, store satisfaction and store trust in determining store loyalty in retail service firms. The results of the study are as follows: First, in case of relation exchange consumers, which are characterized by cooperative actions and mutual adjustment of both buyer and seller, brand satisfaction has a positive influence on brand trust, brand trust has a positive influence on store trust, and then store trust a strong positive influence on store loyalty. That is, store loyalty can be build up by combined benefits both brand trust and store trust in relation exchange consumers. Second, in another case of transaction exchange consumer, which are discrete buyer-seller exchange of commodity or performance with minimal personal relationships and no anticipation or obligation of future exchange, brand satisfaction has a positive influence on store satisfaction, and then store satisfaction has a direct influence on store loyalty. So, retailers have to developing strong brands which could help ensure both satisfaction and loyalty.

  • The present study has a goal of investigating the effects of self-efficacy and facet Job Satisfaction on global job satisfaction in the Workers of Residential Facilities. As a result of analyzing the data of 269 participants, we obtained three factors of self-efficacy: competence, self confidence, and propulsion. Significant 7 factors of global job satisfaction are social recognition, job itself, relationship of clients, salary, relationship of superiors, working condition, and propulsion. And both facet job satisfaction and turnover intention are influenced upon social recognition, salary, and relationship of superiors. Also, facet job satisfaction is affected by job itself and relationship of clients, but turnover intention is affected by working condition and propulsion. This article concluded with a discussion of implications of job satisfaction on quality of welfare service along with current research imitations and future research themes and tasks.

A Study on Life Satisfaction of Elderly Women with Chronic Illness (만성질환 여성 노인의 삶의 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for improving the life satisfaction of elderly women with chronic diseases by analyzing the factors affecting life satisfaction. Using the 6th Korean Retirement and Income Study, 1846 elderly women aged 65 years or older with chronic diseases were included in the study. In order to investigate life satisfaction, instrumental activities of daily living and interpersonal relationship according to general characteristics, descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were used. We used hierarchical multiple regression analysis to find out the factors affecting life satisfaction. The results showed that elderly women with chronic illness were more satisfied with life when they were younger, spouses, higher education, proper sleep, regular exercise, and regular health checkups. This study has limitations in that the number of chronic diseases, types, and psychosocial aspects are not considered. However, it is significant that the elderly panel with the representative of the whole nation was used to grasp the life satisfaction of the elderly women with chronic diseases. Therefore, in order to improve the life satisfaction of elderly women with chronic illness, appropriate sleep, exercise, instrumental daily life ability, interpersonal intervention will be needed.

Causal Role of Emotionally based Satisfaction and Service Reputation in Explaining Relationship between Service Quality, Satisfaction and Service Loyalty in Mobile Telecommunication Company (이동통신사의 서비스품질과 만족 및 서비스충성도 관계에서 감정적 만족과 서비스명성의 인과적 역할)

  • The purpose of this paper is to identify the causal role both emotionally based satisfaction and service reputation by examining the relationships among each dimensions of service quality, cognitive satisfaction, emotionally based satisfaction, service reputation and service loyalty in mobile telecommunication company. The results of the study are as follows: First, conviction quality had not influence on both cognitive satisfaction and emotionally based satisfaction, but tangibles quality had more influence on cognitive satisfaction than emotionally based satisfaction and responsiveness quality had more influence on emotionally based satisfaction than cognitive satisfaction. It found that there was a significant positive relationship between dimensions of the service quality, cognitive satisfaction and emotionally based satisfaction, and dimensions of the service quality affect satisfaction either directly or indirectly through emotion. Second, consumer satisfaction had more effect on service loyalty through service reputation than direct effect. Therefore, service loyalty can be build by increasing emotionally based satisfaction and service reputation to customer who is perceived as good service.
