Second, the creative problem solving ability of the experimental group after applying this program was higher, and statistically significant differences were observed (p < .05).
This research was aimed to develop and apply the molecular genetics teaching program based on the history of science and creative problem solving model (HS-CPS model) for gifted students. Based on the strategies of creative problem solving and scientific theory development, the HS-CPS teaching program were developed. This program was applied to 8 first and second graders of the special class for invention activity in a high school. Creative problem solving ability in science and the understanding of DNA and gene concept were tested in pre and post of 12 lessons. The results were as follows: First, creative problem solving ability in science was improved meaningfully. Second, HS-CPS teaching program was effective in the understanding of DNA and gene concepts. Third, the students responded positively to the program evaluation questionnaire.
This study aims to investigate the effect of the application of the brain-based learning model on the self-efficacy, creative problem-solving ability, and academic achievement of elementary school students in science classes. The participants consisted of 22 students from one class (experimental group) and 22 students from another class (comparison group) of J Elementary School in B Metropolitan city. The experimental group conducted science classes that applied the brain-based learning model, and the comparison group conducted general explanatory science classes according to textbooks and the guide books of the teachers. The study found that science classes that applied the brain-based learning model exerted positive effects on the three abovementioned skills. Based on the results, the study confirmed that the application of the model is an effective learning tool that increases the self-efficacy, creative problem-solving ability, and academic achievement of for elementary school students in science classes.

The purpose of this study is to develop the middle school science curriculum to enhance creative problem-solving abilities. The reconstructed curriculum consisted of three big components, that is, scientific knowledge, process skills, and creative thinking skills. Five themes have been selected to incorporate with four areas of the middle school science curriculum, namely, physics, chemistry, biology, earth science. The five themes are structure, change, interaction, energy, and stability. Based upon these five themes, the individual or separated scientific knowledges of learners can be put into the unified knowledges. The process skills were observing, measuring, classifying, communicating, inferring, predicting, variable differentiating controling, data gathering analysis, establishing hypotheses, experiment design, and experimenting. Creative thinking skills include divergent and critical thinking. The finally developed curriculum is presented in the form of matrix.
As the validity issue of teacher nominations for the identification of gifted students has been raised recently, this study purports to test the validity of teacher nominations for selecting scientifically gifted students. As the criterion variables, domain specific traits such as science creative problem solving skills and science attitudes and domain general characteristics such as divergent thinking skills, creative attitudes, intrinsic motivation, and leadership were analyzed. Scientifically gifted students, potentially gifted students who had never been enrolled in gifted programs but were nominated as the scientifically gifted by teachers, and general class students participated in the study. The results of ANOVA showed that there were significant differences in all variables but originality factors of the TTCT and science creative problem solving skill test between gifted/nominated students and general class students; gifted/nominated students were significantly superior in these variables to general class students. The discriminant functions analysis yielded a discriminant function that significantly discriminated between gifted/nominated and general class students. Variables loaded on the discriminant function were science creative problem solving skills except for the originality subfactor, and science efficacy. These results imply that while teachers are likely to consider adaptation-oriented academic excellency related to logical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and science performance when nominating students, they may ignore the innovation-oriented property which is indicated as the fluency and originality factors of TTCT. Also, the criteria of teacher nominations are presumed to be congruent with the selection criteria of the gifted education program which pursued academic excellency as the educational goal. This suggests that with such criteria, high performing students in the science area can be sufficiently identified by teachers with no further identification procedures or/and tests.

We objectively analysis of teacher recommendation on selection process for scientifically gifted program, by having conducted the test of scientific attitude, process skill, logical thinking, creative problem-solving ability and creativity of the students who were enrolled in science gifted-education programs, students who were recommended by science teachers as talented in science and students of ordinary classes. In result, both gifted program students and teacher-recommended students scored much higher than ordinary class students in all test fields, but there was no meaningful difference between the gifted-program students and teacher-recommended students. This result signifies that teacher recommendation is a valuable tool for selecting students for a science gifted-education program.
The purpose of this study the creative problem-solving of gifted children for elementary school science in order to improve and develop learning programs and STEAM projects by applying that effect would be to provide. To develop this STEAM program, we utilized the steps of the Project Learning method and the KOrea Foundation for the Advancement of science and Creativity(KOFAC) proposed STEAM program, learning the principles and criteria in configuration, the methodology. In order to verify the effectiveness of the developed STEAM program Elementary Science for gifted students with creative problemsolving Questionnaire were used. The program was developed a total of 18 classes, consists of first project to create a solar car, second project to create elastic car. The primary project was selected as one of the topics with the students and selected topics related to previous activities in accordance with articles examining the actual quest, consultation, representation activities in class and finishing with the deliverables and evaluation consisted of 12 classes. The second project is the first project based on a given problem to generate a deliverable by outlining a solution which consists of 6 classes. All of this project was composed by teachers and students to select a common topic on the subject of themselves through a process of problematization, the student-led science, technology, engineering and arts of the area so that the content can be made convergence. The results of the study indicate that this developed STEAM program has a positive effection creative problem solving in a gifted students.
We studied what kind of science-contents problems can also give information on one's creativity for use in the selection of scientifically gifted. 383 7th and 8th graders as subjects, we first analyzed the corelation between the results of creative thinking, scientific attitude, science inquiry, logical thinking and the scientific creativity problem solving skill test. The corelation analysis indicated that science inquiry test could represent other tests except TTCT. We then tested 532 6th graders with TTCT and science inquiry tests concomitantly with the contents- related problems made in such types as naming 20 scientists, writing about a scientist, imagination to overcome a problem, understanding of theory and application and understanding of science laws and application. The results indicated that writing and imagination were most efficient in assessing both the contents and the creativity.
