This study is to review information retrieval techniques of VOCED database. The VOCED database contains internationally relevant information on vocational and adult education, training and related subjects. The software used is CDS/ISIS and the records are indexed using the APSDEP Thesaurus. When searching the VOCED database, various types of search techniques can be used. Multiple word, phrase, boolean logic, term truncation, defind field, and proximity searching techniques or a mixture of all of them, make it possible to find exactly what you want in seconds.

STN International is operated in North America by CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society;by FIZ Karlsruhe in Eruope ; and by JICST in Japan. All three are not-for-profit scientific organizations. This paper describes Messenger software that is designed for fast and efficient information retrieval, the advanced front-end STN Express software that saves time and effort, and databases in STN.

In traditional environment, user must search each journal OPAC, bibliographic DB, and full-text DB and E-Journal separately until user finds scientific and technology informations that he needs. The purpose of this study is to build one-click service system of Journals that supports integrating search. This system provides various functions, such as, journal browsing, journal search, article search, alert function, my library, document delivery service by integrating databases and electronic journals. Users search all information sources through journal OPAC and acquire journal full-text by single interface.

The purpose of this study is to grope for policy to foster the database industry of Korea. Then, this study suggests a definition, classifications and the industry structure of database, and presents the developing processes of both world and Korea database industry. 자연언어 데이터베이스 인터페이스는 자연언어를 데이터베이스의 쿼리(query)로 바꿔주는 시스템이다. 이를 통해, 데이터베이스에 잘 모르는 일반 사용자도 쉽게 데이터베이스를 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는, 학술자료 검색에 사용되는 자연언어 데이터베이스 인터페이스 시스템을 소개한다. 패턴과 구문분석 기법을 동시에 사용하여 속도와 확장성을 모두 만족하게 한다.
